I've been running competitively for 8 years. I'm 42 years old, 6'0" and 180lbs. The Hoka Conquest is the best shoe I've ever run in. I went through about 15 pairs of pearl Izumi Shine's but when they stopped making that I discovered the Hoka Bondi 1. I loved this shoe and and went through 5 pair. I then went through 2 pairs of Hoka Bondi 2. Although a similar or even the same feel as the Bondi 1 the upper of the Bondi 2 was less durable. I tried on the Bondi 3 but it felt different than the first 2 Bondi's and I was not impressed. I tried on the Hoka Conquest and it felt stiffer with less cushion than the Bondi so I was skeptical. I decided to give it a try and after 2 runs the firmness had softened and molded to my foot well. I've done done many long runs both road and trail and just finished a 52 mile back packing trip over rough terrain in the Conquest. The upper and sole of this shoe out performed any shoe I've ever worn. It's ability to wick moisture from the foot is unbelievable. The shoe is very breathable but durable. It's an amazing shoe and aides recovery. I had no blisters and the toe box is perfect. My Conquests have over 200 miles including this 50 milder and I wiped them off with a damp rag and they almost look new (and I really abused them on the 50 miler). The Hoka brand is NOT for everyone but for anyone looking for a cushion shoe with support who is prone to injury and looking for an alternative to what they have they should try on any Hoka (I love the Conquest above all). This may be the shoe you've been looking for. I can't run without them and will buy my second pair of Conquests today. This will be my 9th pair of Hoka's (expensive but can't run without them).

Best shoes I have ever worn! I have run, walked, hiked, and did a few cross fit WOD's in these and felt great. No complaints at all.

These are the most awesome shoes that I have ever worn. I have no more sore feet, ankles and knees. The pain stopped after my first run. I just ran a 10K in my personal best time. The soft sole and support is second to none.

Brands I'd also recommend: I'm sticking with Hoka Conquest!

This shoe is awesome. Great cushioning if you like that sort of thing. Also they accommodate a very wide foot, despite claiming to be only a D width. I usually only buy 13 EE for my oversize doggies, but these have plenty of room to spare. I gave them a good trial on a few 10 milers and they are now my favorite shoe!

I have been sprinting and doing lap runs in different variations of the Brook Ghosts for last 2 years in my cross-fit and boot camp classes and they were quite good as I prefer the light weight but cushy feel. Am 6ft 205lbs age 55 When searching for a running shoe to pick up more LSD run miles above the Pacific on trails in Laguna Beach. I investigated and tried on various brands Newtons, New Brook Ghosts and felt the best in these Hoka 1 Conquest. Overall, I have been very pleased and now feel the high price is fully appreciated as they are not inexpensive by any means. These Hoka's for me have been both stable and help relieve soreness on my fire trail runs which are between 4-7 miles.

I have raced 42 ultra marathons since 2002, and I'm pretty competitive for my age-group, I'm 56. I've run exclusively in Hoka's for the past two years. Stinson, Bondi, Mafati. I tried the Conquest and I've been happy with them. I have over 400 mi in them. I found them true to size, but they were initially narrow (left foot bunion) but that feeling has gone away as they got broken in. They are lighter weight, like the Bondi. I don't care for flashy design and colors, so I'll be able to wear the grey Conquest as a casual shoe once I switch to new Hokas. I run 50-75% on trail and they have been good for both. Their tread wouldn't get traction in wet or muddy conditions though. I use Superfeet insoles, and the lighter weight black Superfeet have worked in the Conquest as has the green ones. I'm surprised to read that other Hoka users have not been as happy with the Conquest. I found their ride to be as comfortable as the other Hoka models. I do wish Hoka would add a wide size to at least one of their road shoes and one of their trail shoes.

Overall a good shoe. After the first mile the shoe feels better. Initially it feels small and narrow. The laces annoy me as well but other than that it's my go to road shoe. I run 12 to 16 miles a week. It doesn't compare in comfort with my Rafa Nui 2 trail however.

I run 10 kilometers a day at least 5 days a week. I bought these shoes to eliminate some of the problems of knee pains and shin splints but ended with more distress. The only plus was the color the fluorescent neon color meant that in a blizzard I could be found. The heel box was way narrow and hurt my heel to the point that I had to run without the inner sole. The soft cushion feel was no way apparent. The tab to the back to help pull the shoe up is useless. There was no way that could I get my finger through that in a rush to pull these shoes on. In the end bought the New balance fresh foam 980 better shoes more options. Maybe I am not professional to feel the value these shoes bring. The Hoka did bring my shin splints back and I had to abandon running for awhile to heal.

Worst Hoka's I've ever owned. I'm not a big runner but still get out 2 to 3 times a week. My first run, my knees were killing me and my plantar fasciitis flared up so bad that I've left them in the closet ever since. Back to my old standbys (the Stinsons) and all is well.

I ran a 50K almost 2 hours slower than usual and ended up with a medial sprain of my right ankle. My body did not like these Hokas at all. I reordered the Hoka Stinson trail and felt immediately the benefit once again of Hoka.

The worst Hoka I've ever worn, and am a devoted long time fan of the Bondi B, Bondi S, Rapa Nui, and Kailua's...these hurt so bad after an easy 30 minutes, I had to walk home...boxy, clunky, neither my normal 9 1/2 or my re-order 9's fit (both too big). I am 5-10, 160 lbs, and have 40 years experience on the roads and racing hundreds of races...caveat emptor fellow Hoka fans---these are tragic.

Brands I'd also recommend: all other Hoka's, but these
