These run short to me - by almost a full size. My foot most closely measures 8.5 in length with one of those shoe-store things you stand on, but I most often wear a nine, esp in closed-toe shoes (occasionally can wear 8.5 in sandals). I ordered the 9 (40) in these - might've worked for my right foot, but my toes on left foot are slightly longer/boxier, and I could somewhat feel the edge of the shoe, so I sent them back to try the size 10 (41). Also, my heel is narrow (but the front of my foot is not narrow) and the heel on these fit without slipping. Other than getting the right sizing, they seem great and have potential to seem like a glove for the foot without - sorry - the look of those things with separate toes like some swamp monster. I have flexible feet so instead of my feet stretching a pair of shoes, my feet will scrunch to fit the shoe, which ends up being painful because the shoe never stretches. So I get excited about a flexible shoe, a heel that fits and doesn't slip, and space for the front of my foot. These have decent room in the toe box without looking as wide as a Birkenstock - granted, it's not as much toe room as a Birk if you need that. I have a neuroma so I'm hoping a flat shoe doesn't aggravate that. Also, the laces don't glide well at all. I figure these work best if you just tie them and slip them on/off like a moccasin since adjusting or tightening/loosening laces is difficult. If you can get past all that, I'd call these a winner where you can forget about your shoes because they aren't hurting in some way. I got them for city walking, park, dog-walking, etc and not for running or trails, but the nobbies on the bottom seem good for that.

These shoes are awesome. I love them for running, riding my bike, and walking around when it's too cold or wet to wear my regular walking Vivo Barefoots. The new design also looks really cool with the blue on black. There's no arch support because there shouldn't be in a barefoot style shoe. I did have to return the ones I originally got and go a half size up, my usual size was restricting my foot and therefore defeating the point of the barefoot style shoe.

I love these shoes. I'm fully barefoot adapted to the point that any rise causes arch and knee pain so I didn't need the included insole to help new barefooters acclimate. I got these at the same time as the vivobarefoot kali (mary jane look) and the Merrell Barefoot Vapor Glove (essentially a lace up soled sock). The glove may fit like a glove but it's no fun to step on anything pointy in them so in comparison these are my "heavy duty" barefooters. Not that they're heavy, just stiffer with more classic sneaker protection compared to the glove. I went up to a 9 from my usual 8.5 so that I can wear them with wool socks and the toebox and width are terrific for my duck shaped feet. The style is neutral/bland but my preference there is neon pink or bright red.

Love my Vivo barefoot shoes. Roomier in the toebox and a better fit for me than the Merrell gloves which I had before. Great shoe!

I like the minimal/barefoot running and this is the second Neo trail I've purchased. The thin material makes the shoe light, but it also wears quickly. I do trail and road running so I seem to wear out the tread quickly as well. there's a flap inside the shoe that gave me a blister when I wore the shoes barefoot, so now I wear socks and it's fine. I still like the shoe a lot because it's light and has good foot grip.

I normally wear a size 7 street shoe, and a 7.5 in my "normal" running shoes, so I ordered a 38 (7.5) in this shoe. That turned out to be way too short - my toes touched the ends of the shoes. I'd recommend going up a full size. I returned them (Thanks, Zappos!) but did not reorder because the soles are so thin that I was concerned about getting stone bruises from the rough surface that I run/walk on. I think they would be very comfortable on a smoother running surface, as they really did have a good barefoot feel.

Nice supportive foot bed. Unfortunately, the ankle material is too stiff and rubs on a sensitive spot on my right foot. I was hoping that the ankle material would cinch around my ankle better. Also, the removable insole made it tricky to decide if the size was right. VivoBarefoot recommends removing the insole as soon as possible for a barefoot experience, but then the shoe is too big for your barefoot. The smaller size that I ordered was too short, even without the insole.

Love these shoes! Exceptionally comfortable and definitely a more stylish alternative to the 5 toe shoes.

I was looking for a minimalist shoe that would be a bit warmer than my Merrells. This might have worked if wasn't too narrow in the toe box for me. Will be returning them and continue looking.

Bought this in the pink/purple color, and for the three figures I paid for it, I wish it would have a regular toe instead of the wide toe featured. Though it beats other outdoor shoes in the looks department and grips beautifully for my outdoor grass sports and hiking (I was calmly still as newbies in regular shoes were slipping down the loose dirt mountain), every time I put the shoe on, it still makes me feel like I'm going out snow-shoeing. Not cool. Not cool at all. This shoe beats my other minimalist favorite (Merrell trail) due to it's strong grip, and better color sense, but the Merrell's fit better because it doesn't look like I could paddle downstream with it. make regular or "narrow" width trail shoes vivo.
