I love these boots, but they are not comfortable with socks. They don't fit well & seem to pull the socks down when I walk. On the other hand, they fit well with stockings and look great with pants & skirts!

Just received them today (10-2013). Love 'em. fit well and the black ones look like leather. Simple, but with the slight heel, goes well with jeans or black tights or stretch pants. Glad I got them.

I did notice that these boots hit the front of my ankle a little, but not enough to really bother me. I wish the sole of the shoe was a bit sturdier - there is really no arch support and the sole is thin. I do love the simple and classic style - for the price they are a decent boot.

As previously mentioned, the top of the boot hits the ankle. So if you don't have long socks, this will be mildly annoying. At the toes it's quite narrower than expected. I purchased a 9 and it still feels quite snug. Not uncomfortable. But from a previous comment, I was prepared. My feet narrows at the toes, so I'm not thoroughly upset. But for someone who's toes area may be a bit wider, this shoe might not be for you. Not much traction on the soles. I tried commuting on my bike the first day I got it. I had to stop and swap shoes because it could barely keep on. Suffice it to say, I 'll keep it to walking in these shoes. Heel is comfortable enough. Overall, I knew what I was purchasing and for how much. I'm not disappointed because I was already prepared for the worst. And it's more tolerable than anything. Plus, Madden products are usually what you get with the price. Keeping them.

I had never tried Madden Girl shoes before. The boots were nice but had no grip on the soles. I could here them slipping on the carpet. Not good when I was hoping to wear them throughout the winter so returning. The also hit the front of my shin in an unpleasant way.

These boots look great style-wise but after the first wearing I noticed that the finish was already wearing off on the tips of the shoes. You can see orange through the black. I am vegan and only wear synthetic shoes which can be a real challenge, so I am very alert to the quality of the materials used. I hate when after a short time the black peels, so I contacted Zappos and asked if I could return them even though I wore them once, and was so pleased to get an email back within a few hours processing my return and sending a shipping label. So be warned, cute shoes but the material is suspect. Zappos customer service rocks!

Cute idea but the shoe is made of cheap material. Very hard plastic/leather/pleather? The other reviews state the top of the shoe hits the top of your ankle and that is 100% accurate. It hurts after a few steps. Have to send back. :( Runs about 1/2 too big also.

I liked these shoes and wasn't bothered by the front of the boot hitting my ankle. However, after wearing them just a couple times, the zipper broke. I'm trying to decide whether I should exchange or return them. Has anyone else had this problem?

Let's face it, a cheep price means a cheep shoe. This brand is great on style, look... but when it comes to every thing else...yuck. I guess I am just not attracted to a pare of shoes that feel like a cheep vinyl car seat, maybe that's why they smell like a new car out gassing. These all plastic shoes would be great on a manikin, or a corpse, something that does not walk or sweat. Back in the old days before everything was made in china, you could buy leather shoes, I guess I am just old and nostalgic, oh well If I want to pay cheep then I guess I will have to settle for cheep, ether that or buy all my shoes at the thrift store! Bottom line is, I can't go to work looking like I buy my shoes at the thrift store, so I will just have to hope the strong plastic aroma fades away enough that they dont attract attention at work. I will keep them, only put them on in the office, because they are so stiff and plastic I can't walk in them, plus who know how they will hold up in outdoor conditions, so I can look stylish at work. Basically I advise anyone to save a few bucks up and by a real pair of shoes and don't waist your time an money on this crap.

Brands I'd also recommend: read the small print. Real leather is what you want, not plastic.
