I have the Brooks Ghost 4, Ghost 5, and now Ghost 6. In comparing the Ghost 5 and 6, the 6 seems more cushy yet supportive. The colors on the 6 are better and the laces are flat style and opposed to the round laces of the 5. The flat laces lay better and don't twist nearly as much. The tongue on the 5 seemed short and too thick compared to the 4 and 6. The sole design of the 6 is more visually appealing than that of the 5. If you're looking for a comfortable shoe that offers cushioning and great arch support right out of the box, look no further. These babies don't need a break in period. They are ready to go when you get them.

This is my 4th pair of Brooks Ghost (started with the 3) and I have absolutely loved all of them right out of the box. The Ghost 6 however I wasn't able to wear at all. I'm not sure what was changed but I knew immediately it was not going to work. The colors are so much better on this shoe so I have been anxiously awaiting the June release date. I have unfortunately gone back to the Ghost 5 until the Ghost 7 is released and I will give it a try.

NOT A NEUTRAL SHOE! I have worn several versions of the Ghost and I DO NOT find this version (6) to be a neutral shoe. I have been fitted by professional trainers and have been told I need a neutral shoe. Brooks Ghost 5 and a few Saucony styles have fit the bill, but this Ghost 6 instantly shifted my heel and felt like I was walking on the outsides of my feet. Sounds like a pronate-correction to me! NOT NEUTRAL. Toe box feels tight. Sending it back. THANK GOODNESS for Zappos. Excellent service, super easy returns!

I am a 44 year old runner who runs about 30-40 mile/week and the Brooks Ghost is my favorite running shoe. I need a wide toe box, but have narrow ankles and these fit just right. I've tried the zero drop and other lighter weight trainer, but keep coming back to the ghost. They are supportive without feeling heavy. The denim and pink are a nice color combo as an added perk. I highly recommend!

I love the looks of this shoe. Having loved Ghost 3 I was looking forward to trying this "advanced" model in great colors. Sad to report I was very disappointed that this shoe is mostly laces, about 2.0" crossing the tongue in size 8.5. In comparison the Ghost 3 is only about 1 inch. I'm not a shoe engineer. But I can't imagine that lacing provides much stability. I tried 6 other pairs from Zappos (so grateful for the Easy Return policy). They, like the Ghost 6, are all laces. So the manufacturers all seem to be in cahoots on this. They must be shaving production costs by substituting laces for fabric. I ended up with Brooks GTS 13. The lacing area is about 1.5" More than the 1" I am accustomed to with Ghost 3. But the best I could find at Zappos.

The Ghost 6 offers support and flexibility. It moves well with my foot and feels much less clunky than the Ghost 5, probably due to removing the plastic plate at the arch and articulating the sole. It also runs about a half size larger than the Ghost 5, only needed a 9.5 instead of 10.

Ghost6 does not feel aligned with the design of previous Ghost models. That is, there is too much support (stability) for the inside edges of the feet. I'm an underpronator and, with Ghost6 on, I'm definitely walking/running on the outside edges of my feet, which defeats the purpose of buying a shoe that is supposed to be designed for supinators. The cushioning and light weight of the design are still great, but it bothers me that this shoe is not correcting my underpronating. I hope Brooks will get it right with Ghost7. That being said, the Silver/Sulpher Spring color combo of Ghost6 is so attractive that I'm going to keep the pair for casual wear.

Had high hopes but the fit is just weird. After exercising, my feet feel weird and :( like they were squeezed, but they weren't. Not happy!

I bought a pair of these to try out. I crushed my heel over a year ago and my ankle was turning in. Needed more arch support. These were recommended to me with an orthotics. I have worn them for about 2 months with the orthotic then took them out. The wear on the heel shows an even and flat walk with no wearing on the outside or inside. Excellent. I actually feel like it is holding my ankle straight and not letting it sag inward. I am back to walking 3 miles for five times a week and no pain. Love Brooks so much, I bought another pair. Now I have to try out the Ghost 7. You guys do a great job with your shoe comfort and fit.

Brands I'd also recommend: Brooks only.

Love them. Great fit, plenty of cushion. I'm recovering from Achilles' tendon damage without pronation. This pair offers good lightweight support. I also like the bright color for evening and early morning walking.

Great neutral running shoe. A bit on the stiffer side of neutral. I had already run in a pair prior to buying these so I knew what I was getting. Buying running shoes is a personal and fit thing, so it's hard to apply reviews to what it would be like for you!

I have patellar tenditis and plantar fascitis, both of which have mostly disappeared once I switched to this shoe. I run about 44 miles/month and this shoe keeps me stable, comfortable and happy. Just ordered two more pairs!

Light, fast, yet well-cushioned - I have a fairly prominent bunion on my right foot and normally after a run of 7+ miles it starts to sing no matter how comfortable the shoe. I am happy to report that after a 10 miler in the Ghost 6 I heard not a peep. The sole is very firm/rigid, and I could go for a little more flex there, but that is my only (minor) gripe. For runners with wide feet and/or bunions, I think this is a must try shoe.

Brands I'd also recommend: Asics, New Balance

I got my shoes in August. By November the yellow rubber at the bottom started to come off. I filled out a defective form on the Brooks website and they emailed me saying that they would replace them this one time. But they tried to say it was my fault that they fell apart. The Ryka shoes that I had before this pair I wore for two years to work and working out, a lot more then I work out now, and they never gave me a problem. For the money I spent on these shoes, it just was not worth it. I will never buy Brooks shoes again. They said in their email that "Our shoes are designed for 300-500 miles of wear or 4-6 months". This price for 4 - 6 months, if I knew that I would not have bought them in the first place!

What happened Brooks? Your motto Run Happy but this gal is not happy with the changes from Ghost 5 to Ghost 6! I LOVED my Ghost 5s (ran through two pair)... but these 6s are going back. I normally wear a 6.5 wide in Brooks. This pair of Ghost 6s felt a half size smaller than marked and the toebox is noticeably less wide than my Ghost 5s in the same size/width. And, Brooks, while I am at it... it would really be nice if your wide width shoes came in more than one color option per style. Ghost 5 fans, save yourself the disappointment and stay away from Ghost 6. Thank you, Zappos, for making the purchase/super-fast delivery/no-fuss return processes so awesome!

I am a heavier runner. I have bad feet. I love to run. I have tried many a different shoe only to be limping later. Between these shoes and yoga I am finding that I can finally increase my mileage without injury! I bought 1/2 a size bigger and they fit perfectly. no shifting, no rubbing (as long as I wear good socks). Arch support is fantastic and they seem to be holding up well. I don't think I'll wear anything but Brooks again!

These sneakers are the most comfortable I have worn in a long time. They are extremely light on my feet yet give the support I need, since I have plantar facitis and am walking around on a cement floor all day. The arch support held up well and although after 7 months they are now my "days off" sneakers they still offer great support. Even though I did not buy Ghosts as replacements this time I will buy them the next time I replace my sneakers.

I think that Brooks are sensational sneakers. They are not overly built up inside but they offer lots of comfort and cushioning. They are attractive, the laces stay tight all day. I think this brand has wonderful quality.

Brands I'd also recommend: New Balance, but Brooks are superior

I love my Ghosts! They are lightweight and very supportive. I am a big runner, 275 pounds, and they have enough cushioning to take me through an eight mile long run and leave my legs feeling fresh. I have high arches and these provide plenty of support.

I've been buying minimalist shoes and wanted to get back to a more padded shoe. I tried these and Wow! They are awesome. They are very light, wide in the toe box, hug your foot at the outer edges as well as arches, and the padding is amazing. I wear a 6, and these 6s fit perfectly. No exchanges were necessary. Love the colors too.

These are possibly the best shoes I've owned yet. I always by asics, but these I think offer more support, cushioning and don't break down as quickly. I am on my feet all day and pretty much live in my tennis shoes so I need something well made. I love these and may very well buy them again. I wear orthotic inserts and they work well with them.

This is a very light weight shoe and extremely comfortable. I think the Glycerine is a bit more "cushy". There was no break in time and it was good out of the box. My feet are on the narrow side and it fit good. A wider foot may be snug.

Well...I am a little surprised that I wore them for the first time on a short walk last night and they felt perfect. I tend to pronate and the ball of my foot gets rubbed to burning, and I need something to keep my foot from rocking forward. I have had several great NB over the past few years, but Sports Basement didn't have many NBs, so I saw this sale pair in my size. Hope I am not commenting too early and may end up recanting, but boy...Brooks has evolved since my Chariots in 1983!
