I really like this shoe and I'm happy I bought them. I just felt the size was slightly bigger than usual and the coloring that appeared to be black was actually a dark grey. The shoes are comfortable but perhaps the sole of the shoe is thinner than what I'm used to in a skater shoe (even though I don't skate!). Go vegan shoes!

Big Macbeth fan. The Gatsby shoe itself is very nice to look at, simple and smart looking. The size lengthwise to me fits true to size the width may be a bit narrow feeling but once you get your foot in them, still comfortable. There's a bit of padding inside around the toe makes it a bit tight but really comfortable again. My arches aren't too drastic but it was also one if the first things I noticed about the insole, they are made to support a medium to high arch. So people with low arches may want to replace the sole. If buying the leather model the bending point in the toe will crease so if that bothers you get the waxed canvas model. The only issue about these is that they split at the heel from the sponge sole making them very delicate to remove. Hopefully this gets reinforced and this shoe is one of the best Macbeth have right now.

I bought these shoes because I wanted something to pass as "smart casual" for work. I'm teacher and these do the trick quite nicely. A recommendation: switch out the laces. I bought some thin, black laces (meant for dress shoes) and it made them look much more professional and slick. The off-white ones are just too bulky and easily show dirt. I'm on my feet for at least 4 hours straight in the morning and these are much more comfortable than your standard dress shoes. In addition to my work outfits, they go nicely with all of my regular casual clothes/pants/jeans as well. I own a pair of MacBeth Brighton's and I'd say the Gatsby is slightly less comfortable. Though (so far) they have still been worth the money. We'll see how durable they wind up being over this next school year.

The rubber bottom of the shoe started to come off in the back after only 2 weeks of wearing it. Might return. Sexy shoe though, no doubt.

I had a love/hate relationship with this shoe. I returned it twice because it has issues with the sole in the heel splitting. Both pairs had this problem. Also, since I have low arches, the padding made the shoe very uncomfortable for me. Great looking shoe. Very uncomfortable, expensive, and shoddy. Never had this problem with Macbeth before.
