I love these shoes. I didn't expect to, but my choices are severely limited because I don't wear leather and I need to dress okay for work and I can't stand uncomfortable shoes that force my feet into shapes they were never meant to have. I had already bought the jing jing, which is awesome and liberated me to wear skirts all summer. I bought these for cooler months and to wear with pants. It took me a long time to put them on and wear them for the first time, but when I did...bliss. I don't know exactly what it is about barefoot shoes, maybe something about feeling my whole foot in contact with the ground (with just a thin protective sole between) and able to flex as it wants to, maybe also their lightness or their comparatively small (cough) footprint, but I just find that I don't want to take them off, or wear any of my other shoes. Except my other Vivobarefoot ones...I hope the company keeps making these delightful synthetic wonders, and offers them in more colors in the future!

These shoes are way too narrow to be true "barefoot" shoes. The toe box should be the widest part of the shoe and in this pair it isn't. I had my doubts before ordering just looking at the pictures and my doubts were verified to be true when I received the shoes. Here is what I look for in a "barefoot" shoe: 1. Thin and extremely flexible sole. You should be able to feel the ground under your foot and be able to roll the shoe up from toe to heel. This shoe barely qualifies. Yes, the sole is thinner than regular shoes but it is still much more stiff than other "barefoot" shoes. 2. The toe box should provide ample room for your toes to do what they naturally do when you walk, i.e., they move and splay out quite wide. If they aren't allowed to do that then you end up with foot problems. These shoes are too narrow and inhibit the movement of the toes -- not good. 3. There should be no arch support. Theses shoes do not have any arch support. 4. The instep should not be so tight that it impedes the natural movement of the bones that make up the arch. This shoe just barely passes as it is lace up which allows for somewhat of a custom fit along the instep. For the amount of money being charged for these shoes they are quite disappointing. It seems that Vivobarefoot is still trying to cram woman's feet into unnaturally narrow shoes just like regular shoe companies. I will try the man's shoes next.

These are great "normal looking" barefoot shoes. I can wear them both barefoot and with thin socks and experience full comfort. They're cute enough for leggings/skirts etc. And are thin enough that you can feel the ground below you. I bought the 39 (8.5) when I'm usually an 8 (it was either 8.5 or 7.5 based on European size conversions) and I'm glad I went half a size up. It gave the toes plenty of room to move around without the shoes feeling big.

Brands I'd also recommend: vibrams, merrel

I ordered these and the Ballerina Jing Jing. I reordered both in a half size larger. These feel a little longer than the Jing Jing. I'm not looking at the Nancy shoe for style, I'm having trouble finding any shoes that fit my feet right now. The toe box is nice and roomy. I have bunions and a hammer toe and they are comfortable. The thin sole isn't bad. Not cushioned but they do seem comfortable. They seem slightly big in the heel and I may have to wear socks to get them to fit. I ordered the bronze so I will likely reorder in black so I can wear black socks. Probably save these for fall. They don't seem like a pretty shoe but they aren't big and clunky either. They are very light weight. They seem to be the flat flexible shoe type currently suggested for knee problems which I also am dealing with. I'm so tired of buying and trying shoes that don't fit my straight shape foot, that I think I'll keep these just to have something for now. Perfect is hard to come by sometimes.

This was my first forray into the world of barefoot shoes, and I was pleasantly surprised. I have flat feet, so I've always been told that I need shoes with arch supports, but that's just not true! These shoes are cute and super comfy. The soles are thin and flexible like they should be--if I'm walking through a field I can actually feel the grass tufts through the sole, which I love. They do make my feet hurt if I'm standing up and presenting all day, but it hurts less than the heels I would normally need to be wearing! For a typical day, they are great.

It's hard to spend so much money on these flimsy shoes, but they are worth it. They are more narrow than typical barefoot shoes, but still comfortable. The thin sole takes a little getting use to but I have been happy with the feeling of wearing shoes that feel like socks because my feet stay dry and warm when outside.

I am still on the fence about these. They look great but appear a little tight in the toe box area. I am hoping that they will stretch. They fit the bill for simple, flat, vegan shoes. They are perfect for work. I am hoping that the tops of the shoes do not show the crease marks from walking. I did not realize that the laces would be satiny/shiny but they are easy to replace if you want to. I will say that I live in my other barefoot shoes (Merrells) and my heels bother me after walking around for a long time in these but not the others. I am not sure if I just need to get used to them a bit more or if that is the fit. I was looking for non-athletic looking shoes that I could wear to work and out and about - these work great for what I was looking for.

These are lightweight and comfortable. The sizing is weird though: the 7.5 - my usual size - was scratching the end of my toes, so it wouldn't have worked, even barefoot. Going one size up, because there is no half up, it would have been too big barefoot, but all good because I'm using a pair of black superfeet insoles. I was looking for lightweight vegan-friendly shoes, and these are just that. Btw, the Lemon is not really as pretty vibrant yellow as pictured, although it could be my monitor. It's more like a weird pukey light yellowish green. Sorry, that went back.
