This model of the Wave Inspire disappoints me. I've been ordering this shoe beginning with the 6 and have always been a fan, despite some minor issues with model changes. For example, the 7 was too heavy/structured and clod-hoppy, the 8 was PERFECT, and the 9 goes in just the opposite direction. When I slipped them on, it felt like I had already worn and broken them in for a month. The upper provides much less support for a moderate overpronator like me, and the sole is heavier while offering less cushioning from impact. (This is in comparison to the 8). They are also a bit narrow/long in the toe. I have a feeling they will break down faster over time, compared to prior models. I wore them once, for a 10-mile run, and I'm hoping that something about the sensation will change. The 8's were much better; it was like running on air!

I loved the way the Wave Inspire 8 fit - it had excellent support and cushioning (the colors were not to my taste but since I pronate and wear orthotics, I buy shoes for how they fit and support). So, I decided to try the new Wave Inspire 9 thinking they would be pretty similar. Wrong! Mizuno has really changed the shoe quite a bit and I was very displeased: 1) I don't have a wide foot, but like a wider toe box to give my toes room to move naturally when I walk or run. The new Inspire 9 is noticeably narrower in the toe box, which I found uncomfortable. 2) I can see my socks (or toes if barefoot) through the top and sides of the shoe! The upper is comprised of two layers of wide webbing (wide for a shoe, that is) which means there is no sort of lining. On top of not wanting to see my feet inside my shoes, the webbing is not that comfortable. I suppose this type of upper gives the shoe the nearly weightless feel it has, which may be advantageous if you are a serious runner. However, I find the construction to feel cheap and I don't think these shoes would track many miles before holes started appearing. 3) The cushioning also feels like it has been reduced. Although the soles on the 8's look comparable to the 9's, they don't feel the same on. Overall, I am really disappointed with the changes to this shoe. Will continue to use my old Inspires and my Brooks Trance.

These are absolutely my favorite running shoes. I ran my first half marathon in them and then did 3 more in the next 2 months. I have fairly flat feet and have had plantar fasciitis but with my superfeet insoles and these shoes, I love running. I normally wear a 9 in running shoes and I wear a 9 in these as well.

Love the Inspire 9. I have been a loyal Mizuno wearer for a decade and always wore the Wave Riders. After developing horrible shin splints, it was suggested that I switch to a stability shoe. These have made all the difference. I run about 20 miles per week and this is my second pair. They hold up well, are super light weight, and provide a lot of cushion. My only complain is that there is very little lining between the mesh of the toe box and the foot. These will not be good for cold Chicago winters! Also, I wear a size 9-9.5 in regular shoes, wear these in a 10.5 as a I like a little room and I think they run small. They are also great for narrow feet- no heel slippage!

I've always wanted a pair of Mizuno. I over-pronate and need a lot of support. Last time I ordered a Mizuno and Saucony pair. I ended up keeping the Saucony. This time the Mizuno Wave was so cute (love the colors) that I had to buy it. I even bought a pair for my husband. He loves his. I was happy at the beginning but I walk 4 miles a day and I really don't get the support I need. After about 100 miles I had to go back to my old Saucony. Really disappointed. If you don't need super support then this is a great shoe. It's very light and comfortable. The blue color is great! One thing, there is no lining under the mesh. So the whole shoe is just mesh. I'm sure that's why it's so light. Not for me but I'm sure great for others.

The support in this shoe was amazing, and the toe box was nice and wide. I ordered a half size up and it had plenty of room for running. I ended up sending the shoe back because it was a tad too narrow in the heel and I suspected I would get blisters.

I've been wearing Mizuno Wave Inspire for at least four years, but I'm not sure about this model - the fit feels a little different, the shoe's quite a bit stiffer and I got a blister on my in inner left heel during my second run in them, which I never have had with any previous pairs (have run thousands of miles in these over the years). They continue to run small - go half a size up for sure.

I have a foot that is completely flat as a result of a childhood injury so I need excellent arch support. Wanting to pursue some more running, I switched from my previous very supportive but very heavy Brooks to these. The result? So-so. This is a decent trade if you're looking for a lighter shoe without sacrificing too much support. Unfortunately I'm having some knee and shin pain so I'll probably just reserve these for walking. They're comfortable for a long walk around town or some light hiking, just not quite enough for my running needs.

Best running shoes for those who need a lot of arch support. I buy a couple pairs a year and I love them. The blue color is bright, not my first choice, but I was due for a new pair and this was the color in my size. You will love the comfort! My foot is on the narrow side and they fit perfect, I even add an extra arch support so I order a 1/2 size up.

Great running shoes! I usually wear Asics Kayanos, but decided to try something new this round. These Mizunos are super light and give my toes plenty of room to wiggle. The construction is nice and the price is right. I was a little concerned about the brightness, but it seems like everything is bright these days. I would order these shoes again.

Love these shoes! Have worn Saucony for several years & these were suggested to me so decided to give them a try. Now I found myself always picking these when I reach into the closet. Have always worn 6 1/2 in athletic shoes but found 7 feels most comfortable for me.

Awesome to finally find a stability shoe that provides the right support and is cute, too. These Mizunos fit the bill. I wore these all throughout my training for the Marine Corps Marathon, and the race itself, and ran injury free aside from some shin splints (not uncommon with a lot of mileage). My only complaint is that the fabric across the top of the shoe is thin, it's more like mesh. That's great in the summer but, obviously, super chilly in winter. I will definitely look to Mizuno for my next pair of running kicks!

I love this shoe! I ordered it in a narrow width, and it fits my foot like a glove. It provides just enough support without being too cumbersome. They didn't take long to break in either -- only about 2 days for me. I run approximately 25-30 miles per week.

I love this shoe. As always, Zappos had this to me super quickly. I run three to four miles a day about 4 days a week and this shoe is very supportive and comfortable. The colors are super fun as well! I always seem to like Mizuno shoes the best and this one is my fav!

I was very sad when they changed my old standby shoe. But now I have these! I love this shoe so much. I love the colors, the fit, the structure. They are the perfect shoe with comfortable stability and happy, feel good colors! I am going to buy a few more pairs as soon as I can afford it! Maybe get all of the colors.

Excellent sneaker that is able to absorb the impact of intense running. I'm very pleased how well my arches are supported. The pressure points ( big toe and heel) are cushioned properly. Definitely worth the investment. The size fit perfect. Mine was 8 wide. Fit perfect. No break in periods or blisters.

I brought these as a gift for my wife and she absolutely loves them! Her longest run is about 6 miles and she finds these lightweight but very comfortable with good support. They look really good, actually nicer than the photo. A very, very good running shoe.

This running shoe is great for me. I've had bunion surgery on both feet, one of which gives me issues such as pain, numbness & stiffness, so it can be really tricky finding the right running shoe. Also, I've had my gait analyzed and have a bit of pronation. This is the sneaker they recommended. It is actually my 3rd pair, starting with Inspire 6, then 7. I am thrilled that they keep getting lighter and lighter weight. I had strayed away from this shoe, in search of something lighter weight but could not find the right mix that also offered the cushioning and support I need. The 9 is great and I love the pink color. I run trails, roads and do some workouts on the track. This shoe handles it all. My only issue is the shape on the bottom of the heel allows large stones to get wedged up in there. I wear size 7 or 7.5 in most shoes but 8 fits me perfectly in this one.

After weeks of looking, hundreds of dollars spent, and UPS at my doorstep pretty much daily, I've finally found an awesome pair of running shoes! I ordered and tried a number of running shoes, all of the top brands, in both minimal and non-minimal styles and couldn't find a pair that worked. I finally ordered two Mizuno's (these and the Rider) and while both felt fantastic, I went with these because they seemed to address my specific problem (over-pronation) a little better. Here are the specifics: I'm a 6.5, went with size 7 (regular) and there's both plenty of wiggle room for toes and the width fits great (I've got wide feet too). This shoe hugs my feet, but still has a spacious toe box. They also feel really flexible when on, even more so than the Rider, in my humble opinion. They're light as a feather, hug my heel, and they offer support while not jabbing at the arch (I hate that in stability shoes). In fact, I've been avoiding support shoes for over-pronators because the noticeable arch support always jabs at my arches and irritates my PF but not in these! It's like they support without all the crazy insole bumps. Wore them on a run, they felt springy and not clunky or chunky at all. I want more colors! Anyway, do yourself a favor and get Mizuno's! They work! Totally worth the money.

I finally gave up on the Brooks Adrenaline for running. I was unable to find a store in town that carried anything in my size, 8.5 2A, other rhan Brooks. So, I ordered three different pairs of running shoes in my size from Zappos. These were exactly what I was looking for. The toe box is not nearly as wide as the Adrenalines and they provide a great deal of support. I am so excited to finally have a pair of running shoes that don't hurt my feet. And, as always, Zappos quick delivery and simple return policy made the whole shoe buying experience painless.

These meet my requirements for stability and comfort. The colors as pictured. They provide good cushioning and support. I am not a runner anymore, due to joint issues and these have allowed me to resume my daily dog walks. I needed the 8½ , although I am usually good with an 8 in Asics or Nike.

Great shoes. Great service. Thank you. I tried this shoe in a store in a different color, so I knew it was the right size. I had to buy additional arch support made by the same company for this shoe. An extra $45. This corrects a roll over foot tendency for me. Most people could wear the shoe with the original flat inserts.

Awesome shoe. I'm a convert from Asics. I get the narrow and other than a few initial blisters, very light, great running shoe. I got half size larger because I'm training for a marathon. I've already run one in these shoes and plan to run another in the same kind, new pair.
