If you are sitting on the fence about buying these because of the price tag - don't - buy! I have never owned a pair of shoes more comfortable & supportive ever.. I will always own a pair. Also buy up 1/2 size...I'm glad I did - they are perfect! Happy shopping! Zappos VIP.

After reading the other reviews, I ordered a 1/2 size up in the Prophecy (8 1/2). They were too big, had to return for my regular size (8). My other Mizunos (Wave creation 13) DID need to be 1/2 size larger to fit well. The Prophecy seems to run true to size, however, in my experience. Love, love the combo of cushion and stability. Mizuno is a great shoe if you have any knee/hip pain with running. Allows you to run longer. I am NOT a marathoner, but I appreciate a great pair of running shoes. Worth the money. Oh, and love the bright blue color too, I get lots of compliments!

I used to change my running shoes every 6 months because they will either loose their support or flatten out their cushion, but all that changed after I've found out about Mizuno. They hold easily 1 to 1-1/2 year so your investment does pay back and you are more comfortable for a longer period of time. That being said, this is also my 3rd Prophecy. For people who have extreme flat feet you will find this review more helpfull than others, because Mizuno is known for manufacturing running shoes with a sock support lining that will help the weak arch one is born with. It is also has the rocking shape and effect that eases each stride and makes your body flow with less impact and joint pain at the end of the day. This Prophecy 2 is much more improved, it finally runs its true lenght without making you feel like your toe is constantly hitting the edge of the shoe. It comes with a higher arch support which also means you'll feel more snug on the mid section. The only complaint i have about this new model is that the heel will feel that it pushed you backward, something that might have to get used to it.

This is a beautiful color combination of black and pink/green. And I want to like them but I bought half a size larger and the wide version, and I expected them to be comfortable in the toe section and my toes are squished. I never usually have issues with this. So I wore them to my fast paced step aerobics class hoping they would loosen up, and while they did stretch a bit, my toe comfort was not there, and the padding in front is not as good, my toes fell asleep, and they were not as front cushioned as I expected. I had issues with Nike shoes doing this for a while and now they are better. For walking they are super comfortable, but for pounding, running and what I like athletic shoes for, the price does not warrant the comfort that I expected. Sizing is wrong for me, I need a wide and half size up to have comfort in the front and for this price I want my foot strike front area to be better cushioned. Maybe I will try a full size up to see if it makes a difference.

Fantastic shoe! I've been looking for a pair of athletic shoes post pregnancy, since my old pairs give me heel blisters (pregnancy changes you in mysterious ways). I've always had foot problems and am very selective about my shoes - they have to be wide enough, not pinch anywhere and provide enough support. I've been a loyal New Balance customer for years, but even my trusty old shoes became a problem. I got a recommendation for Mizuno, bought them and could not be happier. They were great from the first try on. I've had them for several weeks since joining a gym and they've work out great - stable for squats and weightlifting and comfortable for walking and jogging!

Worth every single cent! Most comfortable sneakers ever. It's more money than I'm usually willing to spend but I tried so many and these are so much better than any others. I needed a half size larger than I regularly am though. I'm 8.5 and I bought a 9.

Excellent shoes! I have tried so may shoes and the old saying "you get what you pay for" really is true with these. Compromise elsewhere, treat your feet (and subsequently your whole body) right!

Love them! I previously owned three pairs of Mizuno Wave Riders and decided to splurge and try these. They feel great. I run about 20 miles a week and they make my feet happy!

I wore these shoes straight out of the box and they were totally comfortable. I went to Europe for a month and these were the shoes I wore. I walked SO much and did not experience any discomfort. I walked on a lot of cobblestones and my feet were tired but never sore. I would highly recommended these shoes to anyone for any activities. I had NEVER paid this much for a sho but I decided you do get what you pay for. I came home and they still look like a brand new pair of shoes. My daughters are runners and I am definitely going to tell them about my experiences with this pair of shoes.

I needed shoes with more stability as I have a bad knee and these shoes are great. They are comfortable and give a lot of stability because I do a moderate amount of walking and I had other athletic shoes that were not as stable and my knees started to hurt along with my tendency to pronate. They took a bit getting used to but I do feel very comfortable in them now. These are excellent supportive shoes. I also get a lot of comments on the color and style.

The absolute best running shoe I've ever purchased. I have a very high instep/high arches. I need super super arch support. These give it in abundance plus they are so comfortable...and beautifully designed. Highly recommend. Well worth high price. I'm trying to wear shoes now to prevent fallen arches and boy this shoe delivers!

I have been running for about 2 years and I run about 20-25 miles a week and have tried numerous name brand running shoes, so I decided to try the Wave Prophecy 2 simply because I liked the look and had heard so many good things about the Mizuno name. These are great shoes, definitely a stability shoe, not very cushioning. At first I had a hard time eating use to them because I was in a Nike LunaGlide 4, which is a very cushioning shoe. So the transition was a bit difficult I had time getting use to the way the toe curls up, didn't like that. Now it doesn't bother me. I must say, when it comes to running, I always grab my Wave Prophecies first. They never disappoint and they are a great ride. Very nice, durable, great quality and they never fail....great performance shoe all around.

I was looking for a shoe with some "suspension" in the heel. These are solid hard plastic on the sole and will not give any bounce to the step. Construction of the shoe was excellent otherwise.

Okay...2nd pair of Mizunos. I still have and use my Inspire 9's which are comfy and pretty stable. I'm a neutral runner. I run 5:1's (5 min running - 1 minute walk), training for a half right now. Wore these today for a 5 miler and ouch! Man...I was in pain. My left foot was fine but my right gave me a blister on the back of my ankle, made my foot go to sleep and I also had some knee pain in my right knee where I've never had pain there before. Not sure the front of the shoe helped me much because they are so aggressive. Sending them back tomorrow and going to try the Wave Rider 16's. Order up at least a half size on Mizunos. Great looking shoe but didn't work for my feet. Good luck.

It felt that the heel was lower that front of the shoe when walking. It just did not feel right to me. However, it might be great for others.

I'm petite at 5'1" and about 120lbs. I have minor suprination and these shoes are not designed to accommodate suprination. Therefore, my knees hurt and my feet hurt in just walking in them. There is tons of room in the toe box (top to bottom like a high ceiling) - almost too much for me such that my toes end up rubbing against the top of the shoe. I have slightly high arches and the shoes really hurt my arches. Bottom line is I would not recommend this shoe if you have a petite foot, supinate, and have somewhat high arches. Other than that they look gorgeous! So, I had to return them and stick with the Asics Nimbus.
