I wear 11 to 11.5 and perhaps would have liked these in the larger size. When I first got them, the toe box actually seemed very large (sloppy? i worried) but never noticed while running. I tend to like a firm ride (eg altra, vibram, new balance min type of shoes) so running home from work in these really felt nice. As you probably know, Brooks have that foam that makes you feel like you are standing on a wrestling mat. For the most part, it's an experience that tightens up when you actually start running but I do find that I have to pay attention to form because the bounce is so forgiving. The big problem for me was the creasing in the upper toe area. The fabric just folds over from lack of structure and it was rubbing on my toes. After the 3rd run I pulled out the liner to give myself some room. Although I could still feel the creasing, I kept running in them for another month or so. Without the liner it is a very firm shoe. So firm it's dead. It was after an early season 5 mile race in them that I put them on the shelf and have not been tempted to run in them again. Without the liner they are just not a Brooks shoe. No bounce, no joy. An 11.5 might help with the toe box fabric creasing but at this point I don't see myself trying them again.

I wanted a minimal style shoe, and I got these. These provide more cushioning than NB minimus series. If you don't want to go total minimalist, these are for you. I also like the way the tongue connects on one side. They figured out how to make the tongue stay in place without converting the shoe into a water-sock.

This shoe sucks - on the other hand, the Brooks Pure Connect is absolute perfection. It seems to me, and at age 70 and with 35 years of running experience I've seen it all, Brooks, in an attempt to cut weight removed everything that is great about about the Connect and called it Drift - sort of like taking the engine out of your car to reduce weight.

This is an awesome shoe. Really light weight, extra roomy toe box for splaying (which is what I liked most about it), 0-4mm drop with slight cushioning on the mid foot for striking, and one piece tongue design for secure minimal feel. Makes it easy to transition into minimal running. After a couple of miles into my run, I started to feel the split toe design, but am still unsure if it serves any benefits or not. There is excessive creasing in the upper toe area from what seems to be excessive upper material, but it doesn't hinder the run at all. I love this shoe, but am planning to return them because of durability concerns. Even though it's lightweight and packed with technology, it doesn't feel like it will last long at all. I know it sounds funny, but imagine wearing a nylon bag with a sole attached that is molded to fit your feet. Brooks says expect 300 miles from them, which is pretty low mileage for a shoe at this price, and I've been reading a couple reviews online that the shoe has been wearing much sooner than that. This takes away from the value of the shoe.
