Let me first say that I am by no means a runner. :) I was searching for the reviews that described my particular 'needs' the most and honestly there were not very many. I work in a acute care hospital setting in the Physical Therapy dept and walk constantly during the day. I was looking for a shoe that was light, supportive and most of all had 'traction' lol. My patient population is primarily Neuro (Strokes/Spinal Cord Injuries, etc) and unfortunately some of them just have one side that doesn't cooperate and I need to make sure I can maintain my balance as well for their rehab. I've tried Dansko and let me tell you, they are not very slip resistant or level when it comes to ambulating a patient. I was a bit hesitant at first with these shoes bc of the amount of arch support! (I was not accustomed to that in my old Nikes) It eventually swapped the insoles out and man what a difference:) My feet NEVER hurt anymore and I am constantly singing the praises of these! My husband swears by Brooks and I decided to take a chance....and I am officially a convert! Well made, lightweight and tolerates the 'hospital' conditions....SOLD. (I will say I usually wear a 9 in Nikes/Asics and ordered a 9.5 in these for extra room, the feel amazing!)

I love these shoes. I have had these now for several months. I have high arches and once I wore these shoes for a week my arches stopped aching (they ache with my other shoes). They are light weight and allow the foot to breath as I live in a country that the normal temperature is over 100 degrees. I have a slim foot and normally wear 8.5 in shoes. These were true to size for me. Also, in other shoes when I tighten the shoe laces the top of my foot goes numb. It does not happen in these.

Brands I'd also recommend: Nike

I'm just starting out as a runner and these are my first pair of running shoes. I love them. I think they might be a tad bit small for me but they are otherwise great for ending the shin and foot pain I was getting with the very minimal Merrell's I have. My foot strike is a mid to fore-foot and I think the cushioning here on the shoe is great. I love the color and styling.

This is my 4th pair of Brooks PureConnect. The PureConnect2 is pretty much the same as the original except for the lacing system, which I don't really like. But, this is by far the best running shoe I have ever owned and it has changed my running experience in a very positive way. I especially notice the difference when running up hills. The down side is that they are only good for about 300 miles and then you will want a new pair -- but you WILL want a new pair!

Love these shoes! I'm a former Asics wearer, but I wanted something lighter to wear. They were tricky to get used to at first, but I was also stubborn and decided to run as much as I had been running in my old, more supportive shoes right away. I'd definitely recommend these shoes - I've been running farther and faster than ever with more ease than I thought possible.

I love these shoes. I have tried Nike Free, Asics, as well as Brooks Glycerine until I happened upon PureConnect. They fit my narrow foot like a glove. They are flexible, lightweight, and so easy to run in. I wouldn't exactly call them "minimalist" shoes because of the nice cushioning, but they are a great hybrid. They have superior arch support, and the lacing system is outstanding for a high-instep foot like mine. I run 25-30 miles/week, and have worn them for several months. They are holding up very well.

I am a PURE junky so I may be a little bias but from the pure connect 1 to these they did some great cosmetic changes that make them look like a different shoe but the overall performance is the same. They are a little lighter... better for warm weather. but I love them and this picture doesn't do it justice... they are WAY brighter and more fun in person!

These shoes are beautiful & stylish. However beware they are for neutral runners (I'm an underpronator), and the heel drop will take some getting use to if you are not used to it. I run 7-10 miles, five days a week, and every run in these shoe were painful. Next, if your middle toe is longer than your big toe, definitely get a half size up. I like my sneaker true fit (8.5) and these I had to exchange for a 9. But they are so cute I kept them for non-run days workouts, like spin class, elliptical, excreta. I can only recommend these to neutral runners who are used to a heel drop, or as a fashion wear. And make sure to get at least a half size up to what you would normally get for your running shoes.

I have been running in the PureConnect and have loved them, except for the color choices. I was so excited to see the PureConnect 2 in better colors. I ordered the shoe in the same size as my originals. They fit well except that the new angle changes the way the toe fits. My second toe is longer than my first and it hits the end of the shoe causing a bit of discomfort. I tried going up a half size but then the rest of the shoe was too big. Big disappointment. If your toes are "normal," you may not have the same issue, but it's definitely something to consider.

I love these so much I bought them in 2 colors! I have trouble finding running shoes that fit me well, most feel too clunky on my feet and my ankles/calves start to pull when running long distances. This is the best running shoe I've ever owned, they fit my high arched feet like a glove, with cushion in all the right places. I will say generally I wear a US size 7 and ended up settling on a size 7.5 in one color and an 8 in another. So, probably size up at leat 1/2 size from your standard shoe size. These are probably better for people with a narrow or normal shoe width, not for wider feet. Also, Zappos is amazing as always, super fast shipping and dealing with my returns of several other running shoes before finally finding these gems!

These are so comfortable! I have high arches and am a neutral runner. These are very supportive, light and hug my feet. I do an outdoor boot camp/trail-running three days or more a week. Since these lack grip on a gravel trail, I alternate wearing my Cascadias, but I find them to be so bulky and rigid. The Pure Connects are so great I am thinking of getting the Pure Grit for my trail days.

Love these shoes. For runners looking for "minimal" shoes without losing support, these are ideal. I've had two pairs, one in the blue/green and one in the black/pink, and I ran through both. They hold up! Super cute, sturdy, and comfortable.

I had been a regular runner using technical running shoes and years later those shoes brought to a screaching hault with two bouts of plantar fasciities. The PureConnect helped to save my feet. It was almost instant relief and once again I could do something as simple as enjoy going on a short walk. The severity was such that I had to wear these shoes every day without fail and it took four months to be able to not have to wear daily. These shoes, hands down are the best shoe I have come across. I tried the other Brooks in the Pure line and find myself going back to the Connect. Super excited because now I have gotten back into my "normal" active lifestyle and have just started to run again. The color's are not the grestest for daily wear but my feet don't care about color.

IF YOU HAVE HIGH ARCHES, BUY THESE SHOES! I spend about 12 hours a week in the gym and these shoes are the best thing that's ever happened to me. I just bought my second pair. I have super high arches and these things fit like a glove. I thought I just had crappy knees because they hurt during nearly every weightlifting session and after most cardio, but with these, my knee pain is gone! I've done nothing else different. Note for beginners: for the first week or two with these my heels hurt pretty bad after high cardio just because my feet weren't used to having actual arch support. Once I broke my feet in (the shoes are so comfortable they didn't require breaking in), they were perfect. I'm a Brooks customer for life!

It took me awhile to realize that my PureConnect shoes (last years model) were awesome for running - no blisters! I usually wear an 8.5-9 in most shoes, the size 9s were perfect with a thin sock (felt snug at first, though). However, the Pureconnect 2s are more TTS, the 9s feel somewhat looser and slidey, but I think with a thicker sock they might be fine. I haven't run in them outdoors yet cause they are too cute to dirty up!

Sizing seems true to size: I purchased a 7.5 ( I wear a 7.5 to an 8 in running shoes and 7 to 7.5 in non-running shoes) and it fits nicely. My feet are normal to just a little wide (I never need a wide size, but sometimes can't fit in normal width dressy shoes), and I thought they fit comfortably. I also bought the PureDrift so I could alternate between a more minimalist and less minimalist shoe. PureConnect is like a "normal shoe" version of the PureDrift (The PureDrift has much less cushion and splays out widely in the toebox -- great for more minimal running, but makes your feet look big. Probably wouldn't want to wear PureDrift out for running errands -- but PureConnect would work. You also really can't heel strike in the PureDrift, whereas a heel or midfoot strike in the PureConnect is not so punishing. At the same time, the PureConnect sole is flexible enough to encourage more natural foot strikes).

Love, love, love these shoes. First running shoe I've found to reach my high arch, and light as a feather. I will say I'm usually a 9 but ordered a 9.5 (had tried them on in-store already), but that made it a perfect fit.
