These boots are the best. They are both comfortable and handsome. I use them for walking, not riding, and have found that there is no break-in period and that they offer good support.

I was looking for something comfy that would work well with skinny jeans. I also tried some bootie style shoes as well. I have 2 pairs of Ariat sandals and they are extremely comfortable and well made. These are nice. The rubber sole is a plus. I have very high arches and they are a little tight going on but fine after that. Plenty of room for heavy socks. I did read that other customers thought they ran a little big. I don't think so but they do have a roomy toe box, which I like. I live in Georgia but was up in Indiana recently and wore them up there. Rubber soles worked well in snow and slush. My daughter is thinking of getting a pair. I also agree with another review I read before purchasing that the leather is a little stiff at first.

I was not looking for equestrian boots, in fact I didn't realize these were equestrian boots until I started reading the reviews and only one reviewer mentioned that fact. I have to say I love these boots. I have been looking for mid-calf (ish) boots for about a year now & granted, I have very hard-to-please feet. I have arthritis, neuropathy, two previously broken 5th metatarsal bones among other things!! They are stiff in the ankle area, but that's a non-issue as far as I'm concerned. They are extremely well-padded, well-made and pretty! If you're looking for something like this, don't hesitate for a moment. I'm a 7 and I bought a 7. Yay for Zappos. You know I love you! Oh, and with regard to being true to size, there's lots of room in the toe box but not in a bad way, just in an "ahhh, these are comfortable" way!

These boots are so incredibly awesome! They are cute, comfortable, great support and no break in time whatsoever. I just love them. I am thinking that I need to order a second pair just so I have a back-up. They are not warm like a winter boot but just add wool socks and all is well. They have very good traction in the snow as well. And Zappos is great like always. But these boots, they are great!

These paddock boots are comfy and classic. I purchased these about a month ago to ride a few times per week. After trying on a few different pairs of Ariat and Dublin boots, I settled on these because of the price point and aesthetics. The newer front-zip boots are convenient, but these look a little nicer. Also, the laces enable you to adjust how tight they are, which is helpful when you're breaking them in or wearing them with lighter and/or heavier socks. I highly recommend these (and a pair of half chaps) to anyone who needs to reasonable riding boots.

These boots are beautiful! They are just what I was looking for. Except they did not have an interior zipper! So every time I need to get in and out of these boots, they would have to be laced manually! Most boots of this kind have the laces for show, but a zipper for functionality. It really does not help that the laces are leather which means they likely would not stay tied. That was a deal breaker! I am reluctantly sending them back.

I don't know if these are a good choice to ride in. The non slip soles are great for walking and everyday wear, but they would prevent your foot from releasing from the stirrup in case of an accident. The smooth leather soles are the best for safety reasons.

Used to love Ariat shoes for the excellent arch support. Arch is not as high as before and did not feel as good. These boots were not as shiny as the picture and the material on the cap toe was not the same as the rest of the boot. Very disappointed.

This shoe is my latest work boot. I have sort of wide feet, and it feels comfy to walk around in all day. It's edgy and sleek at the same time, and I get lots of compliments on it!

This boot is awesome! I am rehabbing a shattered tib/fib ankle break from this winter. A friend suggested I try this boot because it gives excellent support through the ankle. It also has a no-skid sole and looks elegant for a flat boot. I'm thrilled and would highly recommend this to anyone who is in need of some ankle support and wants a boot that doesn't resemble a combat boot. I originally ordered a 9 but had to exchange for an 8.5. I forgot that Ariat's run a little big. However, once you get the right fit...they are so comfortable!

OUTSTANDING FIT & SUPPORT. I ordered 5 different ankle boots and kept only these. Could walk a mile in them. Great support around the heel, arch and ankle. Stylish and high quality. Stiffer than some others, so a little bit dressier than combat boots. Rugged construction but not rugged look -- I'll plan on wearing these for years!

These are really cute and comfortable boots though I found they run a half size larger then other Ariat boots I own. They will be perfect with leggings and cuffed jeans and Ariat quality can't be beat!

These boots are stylish and comfortable. I've been looking for a lace up black boot for a while, and finally found this Ariat. Growing up I wore Ariats for horseback riding, and never thought of them for city wear. These are total crossovers--sleek enough for the city, and well-made enough for the barn. They feel supportive, and still flexible so I can ride my bike comfortably.

This is my second pair of Ariat Heritage boots. I still have my first pair, three years old, still using at the barn. These boots are so comfortable I can wear them all day. They are super cute, as well. I am very happy with Ariat boots.

LOVE them! The fit is true to size. They're both comfortable and supportive, and they're not too stiff. The heel has give in it--not rock hard. And they are so cool. I've gotten compliments each time I wear them...but even if no one else liked them, I do. They feel great and look great.

These are adorable boots. The tread is non-skid and perfect for winter days. The boot runs a little large, which accommodates wearing a warm wool sock. Even with the socks, my toes have plenty of room. Overall I'm very pleased with the style, comfort, and quality.

If you're on a budget, buy the Scout Paddock. The III is definitely the dressier boot, but only barely: it has a shine finish, slight decorative embellishments across the toe, and a pull-tab at the back. If those three features are worth money to you, then by all means buy this shoe. It IS gorgeous, fits and wears well, and is holding up nicely to the demands of my 10-15 hour on-my-feet workday. But the Scout does all that too at a lower price. I'm going to keep both pairs because I burn through work-boots and have a little extra cash right now, but if I had to choose one, I'd go with the Scout.

Needing a higher than usual boot with good ankle support while recovering from an injury, I brought these. They broke in quickly and were my main foot wear for several months. I am spoiled to the support and return to them often. Love, love, love them.

Without my Zappos Ariat Heritage III Paddock Lace riding boots, where would I be? On a horse with no name? All saddled up but nowhere to go? No worries! With Zappos at my side and on my feet, I am ready to hit the Chisholm Trail (or any other trail I choose). My horse is not as swift as Zappos delivery, and often, not as cheerful or reliable. So, sally forth, Zappos! Tally Ho!

I bought these for my 12 year old daughter - she's a small 12 year old, short and petite and really wanted winter boots but after several unsuccessful tried (everything was too tall) we opted for the short paddock boot. She is just transitioning into woman's sizes and wears a 6 but we ended up sending those back for a 7 which worked perfect. The 6's were tight width wise. I love the sole on these, they are thick and appear to be well constructed. We haven't had them long enough to review the long term wear but they do seem like a very well made high quality boot. She loves them.

I love Ariat and have bought several pairs of boots from them. These boots are great for riding and walking because of their supportive arch. They are slightly narrow but do not fit too tight.

I love my Ariat cowboy boots but the riding boots are too tall and tight on my short muscular calves. So I starting riding in paddock boots and half chaps. They are very comfortable. I wear pretty thick socks with my standard size 7 in this style.

I have been wearing the Ariat Heriatage III lace up boots to ride horses in for years when one pair wears out I replace them with another pair. I wear them with half chaps to complete my riding foot wear for training. They look and feel great around town as well (with a clean up).
