I have plantar fasciitis and have found Hoka One to be wonderfully helpful. Two other people in my family have now bought the shoes with favorable results. I would like to purchase other colors but the sizes are always sold out.

A very different running experience. Cushioning is great for my 56 year old hips and knees. One problem that has surfaced after running in these shoes for two weeks is that a crease has developed between the bottom of the laces and the tip of the shoe -the toe box. That crease rubs my 3rd and 4th toes. I'm hoping the material softens up. The shoes promotes a mid-foot strike which I have been trying to develop.

This is my second review after wearing these for six months. My days of wandering from store to store hoping I will find a comfortable running/walking shoe are OVER! I can't say enough about these shoes. I have over 100 miles in mine and they are holding up great. I'm a big guy at 255. I'm a 4E and ordered one size larger. Great shoe!

I have down pillows strapped to my feet! I'm 250, 6 ft, and 45 years of age. I have to say my feet feel great running in this shoe. I broke my navicular bone in my foot a few years ago, have arch issues, and general problems arising due to age. Wearing these make me want to run everywhere! I have never felt anything like this before. I've always had the idea shoes should have more cushioning even when trends were moving to the "barefoot" idea. Finally, Hoka got this right. You'll never look back.

These shoes are unbelievably expensive, but so worth the money. I will definitely order another pair of these in the future. I have plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my joint in my big toe. I have tried a lot (I mean a lot) of other brands and have never found anything that compares to the comfort these shoes provide me for my P.F. I am so glad I spent the money for these shoes. I wear them all day long and have very little to no pain in my feet. I wear a 10.5 and ordered a 10.5. They are true to size, very roomy in the toebox and I like the bungee lace system. Makes it easy to tighten or loosen the shoe if I need. Also easy slip on/off. I also overpronate and require a stability shoe. I was afraid these shoes would be too bouncy, but I have not had any problems whatsoever. I used to run a lot, but since my P.F. I haven't been able to run for many years. Walking alone has been difficult over the years. I wasn't able to walk for more than 15 without having to sit down because of the pain in my feet. I am happy to say this is no longer true while I am wearing these shoes. I can walk longer and faster with these shoes on which is more than I have been able to do in a very long time. I am so happy I spent the money for these shoes. They are well worth the money for me. I recommend these shoes to everyone and I hope you enjoy them as much as I am.

Love these shoes! I am 100 lbs. overweight and have a short, wide foot with a high arch. The Monday after Thanksgiving I started the Couch-to-5k running program and was wearing some Asics when I started but saw these mentioned on a running forum the week after I started training. Intrigued, I ordered them and have hated taking them off ever since! The speed laces are fantastic, and they're actually lighter than my old runners - I tried wearing the Asics after a couple weeks in the HOO's and my legs and feet hurt almost instantly. I am currently on Week 6 of my training and running 12 minutes at a time without stopping and I know without a doubt these shoes have been instrumental in my success as a new runner! I want another pair already. Don't let the look fool you - they're not as bulky as they seem, and they're super lightweight without being cheap. Mine still look new and I'm running on both dirt and roadway.

I normally wear 10 2E running shoes in just about any brand. I was concerned that the size 10 Hokas would not be wide enough. They are fine. I am a supinator, so I have worn down the outside edge of the heel after less than 75 miles. I think the bottom material should stand up a little better than that, personally. Other than the aggressive wear, I am absolutely pleased with the Hoka Stinson EVOs. They immediately enabled me to increase distance. I have knee issues and the Hokas mitigate that very well.

I have very painful feet and finding any shoes that are reasonably comfortable is a challenge. I tried at least 8 different brands of athletic shoes before I found these. They are by far the most comfortable athletic shoe out there! I had ordered a full size larger as that's what I had to do for all the other brands but sent it back for the 1/2 size larger and it seemed to be fine. Now that I've worn them a few times I wish I'd kept the full size larger as when my feet swell or are more painful than normal, the smaller size seems to press on my big toe too much. For most people with normal feet, however, this wouldn't be a problem. I have a moderately wide foot and this show was perfect so on a narrow foot it might feel too loose. Though I am not able to pull up the strings very tight because of my high instep. A narrow footed person could cinch the strings up and be just fine. Love the shoe and especially love the style. It doesn't look like the "nursing home" white athletic shoes that I see everywhere and was determined to never wear!

I ran the Ironman Florida marathon in these at the end of a long season. They are very comfortable, especially for a recovering heel striker. They are light weight. The toe box is wide enough, but feels a touch tight on my high arch. They are good for neutral runners, too.

I am an avid walker/jogger and these shoes are the best right out of the box. They were comfortable and the cushioning they provide is incredible.

Brands I'd also recommend: I was always a fan of BK's

These shoes saved my running life. As I began to train for longer distances, my heels began to hurt. Now, I run far and feel good. It takes a little getting used to the super softness, which causes my hips to rock differently than they did before. So, build up slowly (as you would with any new shoe). I don't care if people make fun of them. They are lighter and softer than any other shoe I have tried. I'm sold. I'll buy them again.

I run 20-40 miles a week and have tried many different types of shoes. I just bought these Hoka Stinson Evo Tarmac shoes just over a week ago and I have put about 50 miles on them. So far they feel fantastic - I will be buying at least 4 pair.

I absolutely love my Hoka One Ones. These shoes truly are a new high tech runners shoe! They are the best, most comfortable shoes that I have ever worn! I am not a runner, but instead a middle aged guy with fussy feet even so called comfort shoes often bother me after a few hours. I liked the lightweight comfort of running shoes and so use them as work shoes. the Hokas are incredible for comfort and light weight. I can go all day in these, and never have pain. In fact, the energy return given by these shoes makes me feel stronger and more ready to go! For a runner, they must be nirvana!

Sport of Choice: Triathlons (Sprint - 70.3) Monthly Run Ave: 100 Shoe: Hoka Stinson Evo Size: 12.5, feel slightly smaller than K-Swiss 12.5 size, but toe box is still plenty big and no rubbing on the T-Toe insert. -Laces: The shoe comes with a speed lace system, but the upper synthetic material is pretty stiff and I found it difficult to properly tighten/ lock the shoes to my feet and initially had heel slippage. Since it felt like more work than I wanted to put into the shoe, I cut the speed laces off and used the extra traditional laces provided in the box. I will eventually put a bungee lace on since I prefer the feel and convenience of them. -Flexibility: Not the most flexible shoe because the sole is so thick, but once I was running I didn't feel like it was a stiff shoe. -Weight: For the size of the shoe I was very surprised at how light they were, it didn't feel like I was wearing my Kayanos(tanks)or a racing flat, but the weight wasn't an issue. Also, I was able to keep cadance easily. Since I've changed from heel striking to mid foot, I have not had my running evaluated to see if/ how much I over pronate. However, the cushioning feels very supportive and stable. Due to a surgery and complications, this was my first run in over a month so I was expecting a slower run, but managed a 7:12 pace over 5.6 miles. The run was easier than I expected due to the cushioning, it never felt like I was pounding pavement, more like a smooth trail run. There is definitely some energy savings in the design of the shoe. The biggest surprise was when I was running over a bridge, it was the easiest climb I've had on that bridge and the descending was fast and smooth. I even ran a few stairs to get more of a feel for the shoes, that too was easier in the Hokas. I am not saying these are super-shoes, but for my first run I have no issues to note and am actually excited to increase my milage. I'm still a huge fan of the Kwicky Blade Lights and may keep them reserved for race day, but the Hokas will most likely become my main training shoe. If the Hokas break in well, they might just become my favorite shoe for training and races. My only question is: How long will the tread last since most runs are on pavement? At $170 I would like to get my money worth. Shoes I have tried and would bypass for Hokas (all based on 1st run impression: distance 4-8 miles) Asics Kayanos 16/17 Asics Gel Noosa Tri Asics 1160 Asics 2160 Brooks Racer St K-Swiss Stable Max Nike Lunar Glide Nike Structure Triax

Brands I'd also recommend: K-Swiss Kwicky Blade Light, K-Swiss K-Ona

I bit the price point bullet and bought the Hoka One One Stinson Evo based on the advertised foot bed support. I'm six- two, two- twenty and run moderate street; 10-15 miles a week. I also deal with narrow, flat feet and Plantar Fascia; so need good arch and heel support. I usually take a size 13 sneaker but ordered the 13.5 to be safe and needed every bit of the extra half inch. If there is a next time, I would get the 14 for the hills...if they make them. Summary; Good-looking, light-weight, excellent foot support but takes some getting used to the extra softness. Good arch and snug lace up, extra laces were also included. Drawbacks; very loud, picture hearing the squeak of wet sneakers on all but carpet surfaces and they get dirty easily, so protect them with a fabric spray. After 4 weeks, noise level is down but I'm not sure how long they will hold up and pretty sure they won't hold up long for distant( big body) runners. However; as of now, they are serving me very well. One last side note; you will stand one or two inches taller in these shoes! The Brooks Beast is also good for big, heavy guys who need the above described support. Happy Trails2U!

Brands I'd also recommend: Brooks Beast or Nike Air Max Tailwinds- both seem to run a full size smaller

I have achilles tendonitis, this shoe was very bad for that condition. My feet felt worst after I had run with them. I would not recommend if you have a history of achilles tendonitis.
