I bought the Back to Berkeleys because I needed a Midwest Fall shoe. I'm in and out of buildings all day, so I wanted a waterproof shoe. After a month of daily wear I'm very happy with how the Back to Berkeleys keep my feet completely dry when it is wet outside. The shoe is very comfortable and can get very warm. I've needed to kick them off under my desk on occasion. The traction/tread is great, although there hasn't been more than a light frost this year. I would imagine they would do well on ice with all the tread they offer. The one thing that it took me a while to get used to was the red laces. I like them, but it isn't typically my style. For what I was looking for these shoes look nicer than their competition.

I live in Utah so I was looking for shoes that would keep me warm and dry during the winter months but didn't want to trudge around in boots for 3 months. They look like casual shoes, which I love but keep my feet warm on colder days-not to mention dry. I used to wear big boots to cold football games but I took these puppies to Seattle to watch a cold night game and they kept me warm. Don't expect them to keep you warm sub zero but they are a great everyday shoe.

ZOMG these are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The first time I put them on they felt like slippers. I've been wearing them as my dailies for a few weeks now. Great fall shoes. Pros: Amazingly comfortable. Traction is excellent. Red laces are pretty rad. Very rugged. Cons: Kinda heavy. Hardly noticeable when wearing them however. They can be a bit too warm if you wear them for long periods inside.

I was skeptical about this materials ability to be waterproof; however it is just that. No one should expect the shoe to protect you from water if it comes up higher than your ankle. I have intentionally walked into puddles of water and my feet stay dry. The insulation will make your feet stay warm, you may have to consider that if your feet sweat alot. They are extremely light and comfortable, like a sneaker. I have worn them regularly here in NYC and so far they have met my expectations. If you want a durable shoe, then it may not hold up ( I haven't had mine for too long), but if you want a comfortable lightweight alternative to a boot, then this is perfect. One thing that surprised me was how wide and fat they look and it's probably due to the insulation.

Super cute shoe. Runs a bit small. The 11.5 was too big and the 11 is a bit small, so not sure about sizing. Like them a ton.
Felt a half size smaller than marked
