Love! These were a splurge, but so worth the expense. La Canadienne makes excellent quality boots, and these are no exception. Waterproof and comfortable straight from the box. Could not ask for more!

Brands I'd also recommend: Sofft

I have skinny calves and looked for a long time for a riding style boot that wouldn't look ridiculously roomy. These are great! Classic style, nice quality leather and weather proof is a plus in the wet pacific NW. :) I was worried about the buckle rubbing on my ankle bone, but broke them in on a trip to Europe and they were comfortable from the first day. I only wish the shafts were all-leather (the back is a elastic-type fabric), but for the sale price they are a great boot and I expect them to last me awhile.

Every once in a while I buy a pair of shoes or boots that fit like a glove and this is definitely one of those times. These boots are wonderfully very comfortable and even waterproof! The only criticism that I have is that the sole and heel could be a bit better quality. The heel is hard plastic and may slip on wet surfaces. Why would the manufacturer make such nicely designed waterproof boots with a mediocre heel and sole? I am thinking of keeping them and have my shoe repair guy replace the heel. I do like them enough to do that, which is a testament to the fit and quality of the upper boot, but for the price La Canadian should offer skid proof heels and soles.

I did not buy these at Zappos however I wanted to write a review, as I was delighted to finally locate a pair of boots that fit over my large calves. I'm not a large person but I work out a good deal, and finding a pair of boots that fit has been frustrating. This pair solves the problem with the elastic backs - it means that they can fit snugly without gapping for calves of many sizes. I'm disappointed that they are not leather-lined, I would have been happy to pay more for this, as the current lining makes them less breathable in my opinion. However I do like them very much.

Seemed to be stiff and tight. Very pretty with a nice heel and overall look, but just too narrow for my foot. Fit my skinny calves well, not for someone with a large calf.

I am incredibly DISAPPOINTED. This fall I wanted to invest in a good quality Riding boot, and did a lot of research on different brands and their offerings. I ended up choosing La Canadienne, because I like to support Canadian brands, and because I had heard great things about the company and the quality of their boots in reviews. I purchased the new Stefania boot at full price from David's in October, and started wearing them shortly after. At that point Toronto had seen NO snow whatsoever, and I was shocked when I found myself slipping on dry indoor surfaces. There was absolutely no traction on the bottom of the boot, and I consistently found myself watching every step in fear that I may fall. I got in touch with Customer Service at La Canadienne via email, and a representative called me back and left a voicemail letting me know that there was nothing that they could do about it, and that they had never heard such a complaint before. I called them back, because that did not address my concern. The representative told me that “she laughed” when she read my e-mail because out of the thousands that they have sold, they had never heard a complaint like that before. I found her to be incredibly condescending and not open to listening to the issues that I was having with the product. Moreover, she recommended that I go scratch the bottom of the boot on asphalt to increase its grip. I told her I would do no such thing, as they were new boots. She did not provide support of any kind, and told me that La Canadienne would not help me in this situation. Also, she asked me if I stepped into car oil while I was outside, alluding to the fact that if I stepped in car oil that that’s what would cause the slipping. How she pulled this assumption out of thin air I do not know. But it was obvious that she was desperately searching for excuses to cover up this huge mistake with the product. I am now out the $395 CAD+ taxes that I paid for what is considered a high-end, top quality boot. I would never recommend purchasing La Canadienne boots to anyone, as they are NOT SAFE.
