Black is definitely more brown looking. Does not go with black tights or leggings or black pants. They are comfortable, the EE size was definitely wide enough. I would have kept them if the color was true black.

First, measure both feet and use Zappos foot measurement guide and order 1/2 size up...can't go wrong with Soft Walks. Second, I ordered both the black and brown in this shoe. They truly are adorable shoes. The problem I had -- the toe box was shallow thus the brim of the show dug into my painfully dug into my foot. There would have been no way I could have worn them in long enough periods of time to stretch it/break it in. The shoe does run a little on the narrow side (I am a true WW and this was more like a W). I did not have a problem with the black being black (although if others did this can be remedied with deep black shoe polish-this leather will hold the color and then waterproof - old shoe person trick). The brown is not brown, it lends itself more towards a true cordovan. It is a very beautiful color and would match almost anything! Good luck these shoes are so cute and comfy (with exception to the part digging in by my toes - my problem not the shoes).

Cute shoe, but cuts into toe base (above buckle). They provide support and have a fun heel, however, uncomfortable, so will return. Zappos is the only place to buy shoes for their flexibility and hard-to-find sizes!

Ordered black. Got dark brown. Did not realize they were brown until wore them outside. Then too late for return since they had been worn outside. Cute shoe otherwise.

Nice style and cushion, but was too tight in the area below the strap, above the toes, causing the shoe to cut into my foot.

Well, I got these shoes today. They are well cushioned, with a good solid heel. But just a word to the wise. With the "distressed" look, they are more like a dark burgundy and as you touch them it wears away to a redder shade. I've decided to keep them even though the reddish tone may make them harder to pair with outfits. I do like them. But be aware they are not so much black.

Super cute with huge cushioning, like having pillows under your feet. I have very flat, wide size 6-6.5 feet. The collar on top of the foot is thick and tight. There's lots of room in the toe, just the band is tight. The width is ok, but it's like the toe opening is too flat. I hope it will loosen since it's leather.

I have difficult-to-fit feet. My choices are often limited, but when I tried these, they were so comfortable I barely noticed them on except for the heel that made me stand a bit taller. They go great with everything, too.

I wore my Milford shoes for the first time today. They are cute enough, particularly if you want to add inches to your height without wearing heels. I am considering sending the shoes back. I have small foot--5.5M. I ordered a 6M. My heel is comfortable, but the shoes cuts above the toe, just as another reviewer warns. I hope someone says that they are a shoe that needs to be broken in. The leather seems like good quality, so I am hopeful that they will loosen up. I would not have purchased these shoes, though, if I had tried them on first and walked up and down the aisle of a store.

I ordered a 9 WW, and it was way too narrow. It felt like it was barely wider than a normal shoe; plus, it flopped off of my heel in the back. Also, the "Black Distressed Leather" looks more like a dark purple. The bottom of the shoe seemed like it was made from hard plastic, which led to a very loud noise when I was walking around the carpeted hall at work.

These are great looking shoes and feel great. The color (black) is not true to the picture on Zappos. The black is distressed but comes out more brown. Does not go with black pants.

So cute and comfortable but unfortunately the lip on the top of the shoe bites right into my foot making it too uncomfortable to keep the shoe.
