Wow, I'm also shocked as to why these excellent boots have gotten 2 (so far) negative reviews! I just don't see what they're referring to. Maybe they received defective merchandise?! I'd suggest you try another pair, they're so worth it! All of that being said...I am a 40+ year-old woman who wears (gasp) a size 12M shoe, and who is not accustomed to finding stylish, affordable, and unique shoes in my size! I am tickled pink that they (the Charcoal color) actually fit my lager than average feet, especially since I read other reviews on other websites stating that they ran a full size small, so you'd need to size up. I thought that I'd risk it, because I really loved their uniqueness, and was desperate for them to fit, so I ignored the sizing warnings, and ordered them anyway. Thank goodness I did, because they fit perfectly. Not at all snug, short, or uncomfortable in any way. I love 'em so much that I'm ordering the Tusk as well. These boots are gorgeous...get 'em while you still can. These boots do not run small. They perfectly fit my size 12M's!

Really wanted to love these boots but besides the fact they ran a full size small the shaft is not 16 inches in height (more like 14) and there is no structure or support so the boot is very floppy and doesn't stay up - interesting design with poor execution.

I recently purchased these boots with the intent to wear them during riding lessons. The boots fit true to size, are very comfortable and there was no problem keeping my feet warm. I am really impressed with them; very stylish too.

I really love this boot. Over the past couple of months I have been on a mission to find a great replacement for my 20 year old wellies but having trouble finding them in the states I got these. These Sorels are great for mucking about in the rain or stalls (they have enough heel for riding). The inner lining and weather proof leather uppers are wonderful because your feet get really cold with the traditional wellies' rubber. I know these boots will last a long time. Great quality. I also own their Joan of the Artic Snowboots which are wonderful as well.

I originally intended to purchase the shorter version of these boots after seeing them on another website (but, of course had to check to see if Zappos had them at a lower price - and they DID)! However, once I saw the boot in this taller version I changed my mind. I LOVE these boots! Sure, to some they may be rain boots, but why wait for bad weather to wear these? I tried to wait, but the weather just wouldn't cooperate. They are way too cute to just sit in the closet! I typically wear a 7 1/2 - 8 in a shoe, and chose the 8 after reading the reviews (I didn't go up a full size). They fit perfect!

I saw these boots and had to have them. They are very different than anything I had seen before. I am so happy with them! I must say they get a lot of attention. People stop me all the time to compliment them. The boots are like jaw dropping...really! As far as comfort goes they are amazing. Very warm since they have like a low pile fleece on the inside. They are all one piece so they keep the wind, rain, snow, etc out. If you plan on wearing bulky socks order a size up. I am a size 9 and that's what I ordered since I am not a fan of big bulky socks. Please don't hesitate on buying these boots. Not only are they show stoppers but they are extremely comfortable and keep you toasty!

I waited a long time to hear from Zappos that these were available in my size and color choice. I ordered them in Charcoal within minutes of receiving my availability notice. Unfortunately my happiness was short lived...when they arrived, I noticed almost immediately that the boots didn't match quite exactly. The right one was pieced up differently, and the difference was noticeable enough to me that it really would have bugged me had I kept them. Also the right one was slightly smaller than the left. They were gorgeous and so comfortable though! The leather was incredible and soft. I ordered an 8 even though I am a true 7.5, and these were a great fit with no extra room. I was devastated to return these, knowing now I can never get them again. I blame this debacle on the manufacturer, not Zappos. Their service was great as usual! Had it not been for the issue, I never would have let these babies go!

This was a gift for my daughter and she loves them! I did order one size larger than she typically wears as I read other posts and it was a perfect fit.

I'm in absolute love with these boots! I made the mistake of ordering them too small. It is not that the boots run small. I just happen to be on the cusp of 5½ - 6, and I ordered a 5½. I did this because the color combination I wanted was not available in a 6. I received them today and they are so awesome! But, alas, they are too small. My toes come right to the tip of the boots, and I know that will cause issues, so I will be sending them back. But I have already ordered a 6, in another color combination. They are just that cute!

Love these boots, they are super cute. I am so glad I ordered them. Wasn't sure what size to get since other reviews were mixed. I normally wear a 8.5 or 9 but both sizes were out in the color I wanted (Tusk). So I chanced it and ordered the 9.5, which was great with thick (Smartwool) socks. Probably would have been able to wear the 9 but am keeping them and plan to wear with thick socks.

I bought these as a rain boot (not a winter boot), an alternative to Wellies, and to be different. I love the vintage war-time gaiter-look of the leather part and that they are meant to be worn in wet conditions, which is what I intend to do. I read MANY reviews to decide about size. I'm almost always a size 8, an average foot width but maybe a smidge wide near the toes. I ordered the elk color in a size 8, taking a chance, because 8.5s were sold out. Many reviewers say to size up, and I can see why after receiving the boots. At first I thought, rats! these are too small. However, I wore them around the house for a bit and decided to keep the 8. I do think the footbed is a little short (I rated these as "Felt half size smaller" because of that), but the toebox width seems to help make up for it, at least for me. And the ankle area is a bit loose. I worried if I went up a size that my heel would lift too much and rub uncomfortably, and also that my foot would slide around too much if the boot was the next size up plus this loose in the width. Although I said the ankle is somewhat loose when on, I do have to work to get my foot past the ankle when pulling out of the boot, but putting them on seems to go smoothly. I have paired these boots mostly with skirts, and have worn tights with THIN wool socks over them and I feel comfortable. I'd be good in one pair of medium-wight wool socks as an option too. No, I probably could not wear very heavy socks with this size. The insulation is thin, so if you intend to wear bulky socks for more warmth, I would size up for sure. I have athletic calves, so there is really no way to tuck jeans into these in my case. I might be able to if I had jeans with tight, tapered legs, but I don't prefer that style--so that's out. (And boot cut jeans just don't look good tucked into anything!) I think these fit and look fine under boot cut jeans. I considered the Slimpack Short Riding Boot for under pants, but opted for the tall and that way I can wear them under jeans or with skirts with one purchase. I'm happy with these and like them so much I hope to find my size in the charcoal color as well.

These boots do not run small. They run large. I believe it is when reviewers put the boot on with socks, as they do not have a zipper or laces. Once in the boot, as all pack boots are, they are quite large, so runs 1/2 size large. I am 5'7.5" & feel the boots are overpowering on me in general. The coloring on the leather is not sealed well & comes off on clothing & furniture, but nothing that cannot be brushed off easily.

These boots are not only stylish, they are so well made. When I wear them I get so many compliments. I love them for outdoor things like football games but they also look so great shopping or running errands. They are different and eye catching - they run a size small - I normally wear an 8.5 and had to return them for 9.5 (toes hit). I love them!

Amazing boots! Love Love Love them! Most defintely order a full size up though as I am a 10 and the 11 is acbrilliant fit. I have the gray and want another pair in another color too :-) you won't be disappointed, but they are so cool you might see them walking down the street towards you...."another woman had them in the same color as me" didn't bother me though, damn cute boots!

I love the style of these boots. The fit is good. I am normally an 8-8.5 and ordered an 8.5 and have room for a heavy sock which you do need with these boots. They do not have any insulation so my feet get very cold without a think sock and it hasn't been that cold yet in Boston. So far they have done great in the rain and have been comfortable but I haven't done any major walking in them. They are a great alternative to a welly type boot and much easier to walk in. They are super cute w leggings! I love the look and have already received a few compliments after only wearing them 2x. I have been secretly wishing for snow so I can were these more often :) I highly recommend this boot. So far I have zero to say that would be negative other than my feet have gotten cold.

I purchased this boot for its stylish look and promise of warmth. I am pleased with all aspects. I purchased a half size larger, fitted them with an alpaca wool foot liner and boarded a flight to Norway. Two weeks into the trip, they have been warm in the Arctic Circle and dry and comfortable in snow and slush shopping for hours in Oslo. Once back in the USA, I know they will be my go to boot for a fashionable winter look!

I just love these boots. I ordered a 9, normally wear an 8.5, they fit me fine and I find them to be very comfortable. The traction is great, they are warm and very stylish. They have done great in the snow so far. I just don't have anything negative to say about them. Well worth the money I paid.

The only problem I have had with these boots is the fact that women chase me down to find out where I got them! They are functional and stylish and I absolutely love them. There was a mixup on the delivery and Zappos customer service handled it with efficiency and rectified the problem immediately. Top Notch customer service.

I got the charcoal and I really love these boots! For me they do not run small at all, they feel very true to size. They also leave enough room for my toes to move around and are not all smashed together. The support is okay, could be better, but they are comfortable. I can wear them all day. I get compliments from both men and women who say they are unique and nice looking. They ask: Are they waterproof? Who makes them? Are they gators? and Where did I get them? The leather is so soft and supple. They are both beautiful and functional. I live in a high rain area and they keep my feet dry. I would love to get another color. They seem best with leggings, skinny jeans or tights, but tight with regular jeans. If you would like to wear big wool socks, you could get a size up. I also tried to see if I could put in an insert and but it pushed the top of my foot up and was not comfortable at all. Bottom line unique, stylish and cute.

These boots are fantastic. I bought them for function but also got cool style. I usually take a size 7 or 7½ and in these I ordered an 8, as I do not like snug fitting boots and like to wear either a boot sock or my favorite, a Smartwool sock. The size 8 is perfect for me. The fit is comfortable with plenty of room for thick socks without feeling sloppy at all. I wore them with a slim pair of black leggings, a black turtle neck and a calf length grey cable knit Ralph sweater. Over top I wore a white wool pea coat with a white grey and black scarf and my son even said "Mom , you look like a million bucks." When these boots are thoroughly worn for street use, I will delegate them as gear for the barn. I am sure that they will give me years of service. I highly recommend these wonderful Sorel boots. The leather is soft and I think pretty with their slightly mottled appearance. They are comfortable and warm for mid-range to cooler weather. I would not think that they would be appropriate for subzero temperatures, however. For that I would just wear my Sorel Cate the Greats anyway. I hope this review helps.

These are great boots! They are not clunky at all, like many other Sorel winter boots. They fit true to size and keep feet warm. I have received many compliments on these boots and the best part is people do not even realize they are waterprooof/winter boots, until I tell them. I highly recommend getting a pair!

Love these boots. I ended up with the charcoal. Actually tried 2 sizes and 2 colors (tried Tusk too). The charcoal has a little more distinguished and unique look to me because the leather top part of the boot is all one color and you can see the way it overlays the rubber part. It reminds me of those WWI boots -- always thought they looked so amazing. War sucks but their boots were cool; lots of war vets in both WWs in my family so I respect -- oh I digress. They are super comfy right out of the box. I am a solid 6.5 but found the 6.5 a tad short so went with the 7. Glad I did. I walk a lot in Chicago and wore them two days in a row, walking about 1.5 miles each day and they felt perfect! I do have a pair of Timberland alpines and the support is better but they are a totally different type of boot and also more money. These are really lightweight but still feel substantial enough. It was 30 degrees out today and my feet were warm in the cold but not sweaty when I was indoors at lunch. Also, I saw a woman pointing my boots out to her boyfriend (I was walking by the Sorel boot display in a major department store) and later saw her looking at them on the display table, still ogling my boots! They look great with grey, black and browns too because of the brown details.

I absolute love these boots - however, I am a true size 10. I so far tried the 10 and 10.5, both are too small. I wear winter socks so tried to order the 11's. They are sold out. I wanted to write this review to help others out before they order. My right foot is slightly longer than my left foot, so my big toe hit the front of the boot. So, if you are a true size and will be wearing heavier socks, please consider going up a full size to allow for total comfort.

When I was researching these boots a lot of reviews said they ran small. I usually wear a size 10 so I was going to order a size 10.5 but at the time they were sold out, so I ordered the 10. I am so glad I did! They fit perfectly with extra room to spare for wool socks. They are so cute and unique. I know they will be a staple to my Alaska winter wardrobe. The charcoal color is amazing and versatile. Love them!
