These were my first pair of Sorel's so I can't compare size much to other styles. In the past this brand has been so clunky and Croc-like on the bottom I couldn't bring myself to buy but these were so sleek and pretty I decided to give it a try. They are kind of a strange height. I am 5'4" and they stop right at the widest part of my already wide calves; making them look even wider. The laces are flimsy which is an easy fix but for the cost of snow boots with nary a real fur or shearling in sight I expect perfection. Speaking of the lack of fur; this was exactly what I was looking for, but I expected some sort of compensation in the insulation department. These felt like rain boots in the footbed which for a Boston pedestrian just will not do. So I bid adieu to these lovely boots. Maybe next year Sorel will get it right.

I was completely wowed by these boots when I first bought them. They are impressively stylish for a winter boot and they were comfortable to walk in even with a little bit of heel. I coughed up the money to purchase these no problem. However, after just one month of normal wear in rainy Oregon winters, they looked completely abused. The very thin veneer on the heel is not at all tolerant to wet conditions. It started peeling off very soon and revealing a not so attractive white plastic heel. Then the decorative strap that wraps under the sole of the boot broke off at the snap. There was no way to repair it, so it just had to be cut off. Now they are kind of an embarrassing mess and for the money a huge disappointment in the quality department. I actually wrote to Sorel asking for money back. So buyer beware. There are a lot of 5 star reviews on these and if I had written mine in the first week, I would have given them 5 stars too because they look and feel great. But six weeks later, it feels like money thrown out the window.

These boots are a tad on the pricey side, but they are comfortable and they will definitely be keeping my feet warm. I am a very skeptical person about purchasing shoes online, but I live in Joplin MO and no stores around here sell Sorels period. So I took the chance on these knowing I could send them back if they were uncomfortable or didn't fit right. When I was reading reviews I noticed that several people commented about the back of the boot rubbing weird on the customer's ankle leading to discomfort, but I am not experiencing any discomfort other than the usual new-boot feel that will go away after breaking them in. The rubber that covers the toe of the boot is not a thick rubber, but the boots are insulated. These boots are warm and sexy! I normally wear a size 10 in women's tennis shoes and I purchased a size 9 Sorel Conquest Carly. They fit perfectly, plus I can wear a pair of thicker tall socks. I am ready for snow.

I almost didn't get this boots because of the mixed reviews that people wrote. I must say that this boots is very cute, warm and it did more that it's written. It is waterproof and insulated on the inside. But if you want extra warmth especially in the chicago harsh winter, you should layer it with some wool socks/hiking socks. I am usually a size 7.5 but ordered an 8 so I can snug some extra socks in. I would be very happy if this comes in more color though. I also wanted to point out how picky some people are who wrote reviews. It made future buyer very confuse about their decision. I agree that this boots has so many strings that it's somehow hard to take off. But come on guys, i doesn't take more than 3 mins to put on and it definitely takes less time to take off. Keep up the good work Sorel!

I cannot say enough about Zappos' customer service. I had such a difficult time deciding between these boots and another, but with the way in which they do exchanges it made my decision painless. Unfortunately, once I had decided on these boots I wore them once and the strap that wraps around the bottom broke. I called Zappos and was really disappointed but again with the customer service they had a new pair in my hands the next day. I am very happy with these boots no sign of the straps breaking again. They are true to size although I may recommend going a bit bigger so that you can wear thick socks. Not the warmest unless you have comfy socks on. I have gotten so many compliments including random people I don't even know. Am so happy with this shopping experience and my boots! You guys at Zappos are the best!

These are stylish and are totally getting me through the Chicago winter! I normally wear an 8 and I bought an 8 because these don't have the super-wide bottoms other Sorel boots have. I probably could have gone down to a 7.5, but by tightening the laces and wearing thick socks, my foot doesn't slide around.

Love these boots! But I have to disagree with many of the reviewers on the sizing. I ordered my true size 7 based on reviews. Yes, they fit, but barely. Even with thin socks my big toes were hitting the end of the boot. I should have known since they looked tiny right out of the box. I exchanged for a 7.5 and thin socks work well, but thick socks are still a little tight. I like the lacing since I have skinny calves. They are comfortable to wear to work all day. One complaint is the fake wood heel is chipping off after one week of wear. This really makes the boot look cheap (which it is not).

When I first got my Conquest Carly boots, I was in love! They were a little big so I put in a sherpa insert (this also helped because they are unlined and not all that warm for such wintery boots). I wore them everywhere! But I have recently become very disappointed in them. First one of the grommets that held on the under the sole strap broke, and then a few months later the one on the other boot also broke. (The first was my fault for snagging it, the second just happened while walking.) For boots at this price, this is completely unacceptable. And recently I noticed the wood-look veneer on the heel has started to crack and break off on both feet. I've only had these boots for a year, and I didn't wear them for 8 months of that while I was trying to figure out how to fix the broken grommet. Lastly, the soles are very slippery on wet or icy surfaces. The boots are very cute and pretty comfortable (although heavy). I was just very disappointed in the quality for such an expensive shoe.

I love these! Dressier winter boots. If you live somewhere cold, you need something like these for sloppy but not overly snowy days. I hate wearing furry boots. If you are looking for fur, or shearling, or boots for the snow, these are not them. They are great with leggings, jeans or a skirt. They are flattering and eye catching and comfortable. I've had them a full season & the only thing that seems to have not been 5 star is the laces have broken. But seeing how often I've worn them I'm not surprised that the laces had broken.

I read so many mixed reviews about these boots that I was a little apprehensive about buying them. Push came to shove and I needed cold-weather boots for Chicago's 20 degree, snowy weather, so I bought them, and they saved my feet! These boots are comfortable the moment you take them out of the box. They are not too heavy, which I really like, and you get good traction walking through ice, rain, and snow. No, they are not the warmest boots out there, so just wear a couple layers of wool socks and you will be good to go. I walked miles in these beauties and my feet never hurt. Plus they're pretty darn good looking. Best boots I've seen out there, that's for sure. LOVE THEM.

These boots are fantastic. I live in Boston and wanted waterproof boots that would keep me warm and dry all winter, but also looked cute. These have kept my feet (and legs!) warm and dry all winter, even during this record-breaking season. I definitely wear wool socks underneath, (New England winters, hello!) and I also get so many compliments on these boots. I have worn them almost every day for 4 months straight, and they are still completely in tact. I wear them for climbing over snow banks to cross the street, digging out of my car, and walking around the snowy sidewalks and streets. They are great for a snowy urban winter!

I love these shoes. This is my first Boston winter (I hail from CA) and I couldn't be happier with how these boots have helped me through it. I'm glad they aren't lined. I normally wear 7.5; I bought 8s, and I can either wear thick socks, or I can wear normal socks and cinch them tighter. As a pedestrian, my only mode of transport, I'm finding they have fine traction. And they are indeed waterproof. I've stepped in puddles up to mid-calf and my feet & legs remain dry. I love the way they look, and I've gotten a few compliments on them. In my estimation, these are worth every penny. I wear them every day. Now, I've only had them two months -- some people have had durability issues, so we'll see how they hold up -- but so far, so great.

I am a true size 6, but ordered a 6 and a 6.5. At first the 6 seemed too small, because my big toe was touching the end. But after trying on the 6.5, I realized that my toes still touched the end, but that the boot as a whole was way too wide and therefore, uncomfortable. Many say that these boots run small, but I think they run true to size. I only wear one pair of normal-thick socks since I am in Texas. These boots are beyond adorable and I receive so many compliments on them. I wear them all day and never have blisters or sore feet. They're just perfect! One of my best purchases.

I get so many compliments on these boots! They are really pretty, and now that they are broken in they are also very comfortable. They've made it through the rainy season at home and a week in the snow at Tahoe. This is a great boot.

Do you hate that wearing in period of time where your boots are eating the back of your ankles? So do I! I think these boots deserve 5 stars all around just for NOT tearing up my feet right off the bat. Not only are these boot comfortable they are very cute. They are grippy when you need grip and not overwhelming when you just want to wear them in the rain. I haven't worn them in the snow yet but I look forward to it. Some others have complained about them not being warm enough but they weren't given warm insulation for a reason. I like that my feet aren't a sweaty mess on warmer days. No doubt you will be frustrated with getting your feet in the boots. It takes time to wear them in just right. You will battle with them. Do not let this discourage you though. Over time it's been easier to get my feet in and out of these boots. I suggest wearing smooth socks. I'm a bit worried about the laces as they seem to be wearing down quickly. Some people have said the laces haven broken for them, so I guess we'll see. Last suggestion, buy a half size larger to give room for thicker socks. Overall, I love these boots and I think they are well worth the cost.

Do you want to have dry feet? Do you care about style while having dry feet? If you answered yes to either of these, these boots are worth it. They are a bit stiff and the lining isn't plush but these boots are gonna keep your feet dry. Even the laces are waxed for waterproof. I've biked through huge puddles and my feet and calves stayed totally dry. As for style, I've worn them a few times and been complimented by other women twice! The only downside is that since they don't have a zipper (duh) and because they are a little stiff, they can take a few minutes to lace in and out of - but it's worth the effort, believe me. Also: if you have skinny ankles like me, these boots are pretty shapely so that's an extra plus. As for sizing, I typically wear an 8 and these boots fit perfectly, but my feet are bit narrow and as I mentioned, I have skinny ankles.

I am very happy with these. I wear them almost every day. Very comfortable and warm. They have been great around Nashville and I will be testing them out in upstate NY for the holidays. I don't see there being any issues with cold feet for my visit home. It takes me a minute to get them on and off because of all the laces, but it is worth it.

I've been dying for it to snow so I can wear them more. I spend a lot of time outside in extreme weather and I was worried about some of the reviews but I stayed warm on my 2 days of snow I've been in w them. I do wear heavy wool socks though. These boots are sleek and cool. I love them.

This is my 2nd pair of Conquest Carly's. I wore the first pair to death and had no hesitation ordering this style again. They still run small by at least a half size and if you had to go up a full size, you'd still be OK with a thicker sock since the shoe part of the part fits snug all around. They also made a much needed improvement on these boots since the first year they came out. They heel used to be a wood veneer, which would quickly start to peel off in wet weather. Now the heel is a durable hard rubber. These are really stylish boots for everyday and get many compliments! Be aware that the "shoe" part of the camo colored boot is not black like it appears in the picture. It is brown, like the surrounding leather.

Love these!!! I went up 1/2 size to a size 9 and am glad I did. I can wear a thicker sock and put in a footpad for extra warmth. I get compliments every time I wear them and they ask where I got them. Zappos of course. My first choice shoe shopping place.
