I have been battling plantar faciitis for about 9 months. Wearing a night splint and taking anit inflamatories. I wear gel heel cups with arch suposrts in my work shoes which helped a lot. I have been throug several sets of running shoes trying to find the right one that would help either with or without inserts and was very frustrated. Finally I read a review of these on runner's world and forked over the big bucks. When I tried them on and felt the arch support I knew these were what I needed. After having them for about a week, my foot, knee, shin and ankle pain from running is gone. I ran 3 miles in these yesterday and feel great this morning. I an a big guy, 6' 225lbs and these shoes offer the cushioning and support I needed.

I have owned at least 10 pairs of the Nimbus line and have previously been a raving fan. The Nimbus 14 is unwearable - after the 10th wear (I gave it a fair trial), I had to take my shoes off in the middle of the day and have sworn to never wear them again. The size is the same as all the other Nimbus shoes I have worn, but my feet just hurt after wearing them for several hours. I'm a surgeon and the day of the final wear was one that I was sitting down much of the day. I don't know what happened to the 14 design, but I have 3 pairs of old Nimbus 12's that I wear very comfortably. I will need to switch to another brand for my next pair shoes. Very sad.

Great sneakers! I always have a difficult time trying to find a wide sneaker that fits and feels right. It drives my wife crazy when we shop for sneakers, but she just doesn't understand what it's like to have wide feet and try to walk around in "medium" sneakers! These sneakers are light and look exactly as the photos shown. I never thought I'd pay this much money for sneakers, but it was well worth every dollar.

Brands I'd also recommend: ASICS is the way to go for "wide" athletic sneakers!!

I have high arches and ASICS claims this shoe is built for runners with high arches...but I'm not so sure. The first time I wore them my arches ached for hours. They also felt more narrow than normal...I returned them. A big round of applause for Zappos return service - they obviously care about their customers happiness, I'll be a customer for a long time.

I've been running for several years and wanted to finally get a pair of running shoes that were meant for me...so I spent a lot of time being fitted and talking to experts and narrowed my decision down to these. Spent a good amount of money and was teased about it from my wife and friends but I thought for sure it would be a great decision. Brought them home and took them out of the box and put them right on...they were 'okay' but everyone said I'd love them. Long story short, I ran outside, I ran on the treadmill, I ran a on a local track, I ran on a couple trails...I tried it all in an effort to make it work...different lacing, etc and these shoes are terrible. Everything hurts when I wear them. From my waist down. I don't even wear them to walk around in. Just my 2 cents.

These are wonderful. I'm on my feet constantly, standing up or crouching down. These shoes are comfortable and a little springy with each step.

Works great with orthotics and a very light shoe! I don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to do now. I'm 6'3", about 220 lbs with very flat feet. This shoe accommodates my orthotics. I removed the insole (not glued-in), to make a little more room vertically. I was making the mistake of buying shoes with too much stability and then adding my orthotics (i.e. overcorrecting for flat feet). This shoe is the most comfortable shoe I have ever had for running and being "neutral" it works just fine with my orthotics.

I first bought a pair of Nimbus 12s a couple of years ago and loved them. The asymmetric lacing was very comfortable and the shoes themselves were a dream to run in. After a year and a half though, it was time to replace them. After having run in the 14s now for about a month, I can say I am disappointed in them. Two reasons, no asymmetric lacing and the 14s seem to run slightly larger (length wise) than the 12s and slightly narrower (width wise). After a 5½ mile run, I developed blisters on the arches of both feet, where the ball and arch meet. However, I cannot say whether this is due to the size of the shoes or that when I bought the 12s, I was just getting back into shape and the distances I can now run took a long time to work up to. For now, I limit myself to no more than 4½ mile runs in an effort to build up the callouses on my feet where the shoes are rubbing.

I tried the 14, but they did not have the comfort level that the 13 had. I have ordered several more pairs of 13 to get me through the running season. The 13 is more comfortable, with better padding, and are a bit heavier than the 14. The 14 is for folks who want the shoes to mold to their feet. I am strictly a comfort runner myself. The 13 is for comfort, not speed.

I recently purchased the Gel Nimbus 14 in 4E. I am extremely disappointed in the overall design, quality, fit, and comfort of these shoes. Previous models were popular, because they offered a quality shoe with a comfortable fit, high volume toe box, wide sole, asymmetrical lacing, good heel support, and a well-cushioned ride for the neutral runner. Asics has engineered all of these features out of the 14. These shoes are stiff, and do not have the same out of the box comfort evident in previous models. The 4E designation is a joke, as these shoes do not even feel as wide as the old 2E. The reduction in sole width, greatly decreases the comfort level for runners with wide feet. The 14 look and run like inexpensive discount store shoes. I am sure that decreasing the tread width, cushioning, and overall quantity and quality of materials increases the profit margin, but Asics will lose customers who originally purchased this model for comfortable long distance training runs. Asics had it right with the Gel Nimbus 11.

Not happy! I m a huge fan of the Asics Nimbus shoes I wore the Gel Nimbus for years; own the Nimbus 9 through 13, and now 14. But I have to Say, that the 14 like the 12 is a step backward in how the shoe is designed. Just like the Nimbus 12, the 14 created the shoe string and eyelet raised to a point (vertex) and the ankle support is lower-Thus, The upper eyelet positions the shoe strings , by cutting into the top of my ankle (very painful). This was a flaw in the Nimbus 12 s the proceeding shoe 13 and prior 11 didn't have this in the construction of the shoe. It may sound crazy though being a runner and enormous supporter of this model shoe, I could only hope that Asics goes back again to the original design when they make Nimbus 15. Unfortunately, I'm returning the shoe and go back to the 13's...

Brands I'd also recommend: Nimbus 13

These fit me as consistently as all other Asics I've worn. I bought these on sale after wearing the Neo-33s for some time (because they were cheaper). Going back to the Nimbus felt great. I didn't realize how much I missed the support and extra cushion. This particular color scheme is pretty weird (the side swooshes are even uglier in person), but I prefer black running shoes overall, so I'll live with the green styling.

I have been using Nimbus running shoes for about 5 years and in this style it seems like the toe box is slightly smaller. You might consider a 1/2 size up.

This is my fifth pair of the Asics Nimbus series and I must say I have never had any complaints. The shoes hold up to a long line of abuse. I run a couple miles to the gym, workout, and then run home. I use an older pair to run up a local mountain and jump fences to run (with my good pair) at the local track. I use my newest pair for strictly running, which is why I bought these. Being a neutral runner they fit and function perfectly.

I purchased my first pair of Nimbus 14s a few months ago and love them. I ran on Brooks Ghost shoes for the last year. The Nimbus 14s are incredible! They are a great comfort and style! I am training for my first full marathon in three months and am excited about using these shoes!

I don't run. I used to run, but cannot anymore subsequent to an injury to my right ankle. I have used ASICS for decades and could purchase the shoe I wanted by just trying it on and taking a few quick steps in it. I suppose that exercise allowed me to pick out the ASICS shoe that was for "under pronators" as we are now known. After surgery some six years ago, I had to have a flare (or outrigger) put on the outside of my right shoe so that I could walk in a straight line (sort of). So with additional cost of the orthotic correction, I need the shoe to last as long as possible before the upright support starts breaking down. Earlier Nimbus have not disappointed and from the feel of Nimbus 14, it will so the job.

Brands I'd also recommend: I don't know of any that would satisfy me.

I love Asics Gel Nimbus 14. I am a woman who has to wear a men's size. I tried the new Gel Nimbus 15 and they ruined the perfect fit of the Nimbus 14 by making too much mesh fabric on the top part of the shoe (the part that covers the toes) so that the fabric bends into the top part of the foot when you walk and is very annoying. So I had to buy another Gel Nimbus 14.

Brands I'd also recommend: I just have used Asics Gel Nimbus 12 and 14

I previously owned a pair of Brooks Adrenaline, and I would say that the Asics Nimbus and the Brooks Adrenaline are about the same when it comes to comfort and performance. The prices are about the same so you really cannot go wrong with either choice.

Some of the most comfortable shoes I have ever purchase. This is my second pair of Asics Nimbus. I will not buy any other walking shoe. I walk on concrete floors all day and my feet have never felt better. Well worth the price. Also purchased my wife a pair as well and she is in love.

Excellent sneakers. Superlight and cushy. I usually wear Sole footbed (DK Response, excellent product as well) for my work shoes to prevent sore spots forming on the feet, but on weekend, I just wear these sneakers and I can walk miles without any sore spots. I wish I can wear them to work but not allowed.
