I bought these in the Stone Wash. They are beautiful. I have at least 10 pair of Fryes in all different styles and types. This is my first ankle style boot. These are narrower in the toe than others but still the 7 1/2 (which is what I wear consistently in Frye) fits just fine.

These are gorgeous boots. Great quality and style. They run just a little bit big - I usually wear a 10 and the 9.5 boot fits me perfectly with thin socks. I ordered the redwood smooth leather and the black just to see about the sizing and the colors - both colors are so beautiful I'm keeping both. Will wear them with skinny jeans, the black with black jeans and the redwood with lighter washes.

I have complicated feelings about these boots. I love them but our relationship has had its problems. I have other shoes by Frye, and I wear a size 7½, but in this style that size made my feet blister and bleed. After a couple of days I could not even get my feet into them. Zappos is great so they exchanged them for a size up. My feet were still bleeding, but at the calf where for some reason there is an inexplicably sharp piece of plastic thread sticking out that rubs my skin raw unless I am wearing thick, tall socks. I took a lighter and burned the end of the threads off, and now I can finally wear these boots without further injury. So once my scars heal I will be completely happy! The style is great and once you are in the right size, they are comfortable!

I bought this boot for my daughter. It was a little stiff and difficult to get on (we had to use the plastic bag trick to get it on). The leather quality is good. The style is cute and they are stretching now.

Love these boots! For me they were difficult to get on but I took the advise from another customer and cut a flexible plastic cutting board approximately 4" wide by the original length and use it as a shoe horn. It really works. They are super comfortable and don't bother my knees when I wear them. Some boots are too heavy and the heel too high which can aggravate my knees. The distressed black leather is awesome.

I loved the look of these in the box, but on my foot, the opening around the ankle was way too wide.

I was so excited to get these boots but was disappointed in the fit. My heels were coming out as I walked and the opening above the ankle was a bit too wide/open to my liking. I own the Melissa Button riding boot & the Paige Trapunto in 8 1/2's but this boot has a narrower toe box as well as a stiffer feel in comparison. I love the idea of this bootie but I think if I were to get a 1/2 size smaller the toe box would be too narrow to be comfortable. Sad they're going back.

I wanted to love these, the color is gorgeous and I have been waiting patiently for Zappos to have my size again. Sadly there is just too much space at the ankle. They end up looking heavy and manly on my foot.

These boots are beautiful, but I have to agree with other reviewers, and I'm returning them. They run long - I always wear a nine and these look enormous. However, they are also very narrow in the toe box (and I have a narrow foot). So my toes are crunched together, and my heel is slipping. An 8.5 would be the correct length, but there is no way I could squeeze in my toes. Bummer! Also, the ankle opening is very wide.

Boots looked cute. Seemed to be sturdy. Slipped them on and they were quite stiff and uncomfortable. I have other Frye boots and have been used to fabric that is softer. These did not seem to have any give. For reference, I have size 9 Frye boots and these fit like other 9s. I ordered the redwood smooth full grain leather. Although, these seemed more narrow than other Fryes.

I was so disappointed when these boots came. My puppy had chewed up my favorites and I thought these looked like a wonderful replacement - even though expensive but they had such great reviews. I got the black stone antiqued and they were much more distressed looking than they look in the picture. The biggest problem with them for me is how wide the shaft is. I tried them on with even my widest leg pants and they still distort the pant leg. It seems like the only way to wear them is with your pants tucked in or with a skirt. They are on their way back.

Really nice boots but the fit is so funky. Usually wear a 7 but the first pair were way too big...then I ordered a 6 and could get my foot inside...it needs a zipper.

Am so disappointed as I cannot get the boot on to even evaluate. The item is lovely and leather and color wonderful. I have a high instep and the boot would not accommodate.
