These shoes are a great update to the Ride 4. The change in the heel to toe offset is comfortable and makes my stride feel more natural. They are extremely comfortable as I did an easy 3-mile run on the treadmill in them today. I love the bright pink and neon green. An excellent and supportive running shoe!

I should have listened to the top critical review. I have been a Saucony Progrid Ride wearer for years and years. I have bought them because I know that when I put them on, there will be instant comfort and won't need breaking in. Well, I guess I'll be looking for a new running shoe, the end of an era. The new shoes are so chintzy, no padding, cush. The heal is much lower than the Ride 4, etc., and my molded orthotic is now visible. I'll have to wear them to the gym for a workout as they can't be returned because I've worn them. However, I won't be able to wear them for my daily 3 mile run. On a more positive note, I am always happy with Zappos.

My daughter is the runner 14 years of age. Just history - 1600m (4:57), 800m (2:20), 400m(:56). We have wore several other brands. They have caused shin splints, issues with ankle support. We went to a recommend store in the Houston, TX. She tried on 7 different brands. The Saucony ProGrid was her favorite by far. She has been running in them for a month now and no issues on and off the track. It gives her the arch support she needs but also gives her the ability to work on her speed. She is working on her way to the top.

I have wide feet and have been very happy with Saucony shoes in general. These are incredibly comfortable and have very good arch support even without orthotics.

This is a good running shoe. However, the tongue of the shoe does slide to the far left or right, which can cause pain. After wearing this shoe and it's predecessors for years, I recently switched the Brooks Glycerine 10 and am MUCH happier. I am a high mileage, neutral runner who likes a little cushioning and wears an odd shoe size (12 Narrow). This shoe runs true to size. This shoe does not last as long as other shoes in terms of cushioning.

This is a good shoe. Nothing exciting about it. I need a narrow shoe for arobics and running or I turn my ankles. These are OK, but I think I prefer Mazuno.

I dislike the redesign; The laces are too thin and bite. The lowered heel feels awkward. The general shape of the shoes no longer feel "right." These are very disappointing.

I cannot say enough good things about the Saucony Ride series. This is my fourth pair. I have used other shoes, like Mizuno Wave Riders and random Adidas neutral shoes, but whenever I am getting ready for a run I always find myself reaching for my Sauconys. Although they are nothing awesome to look at, and maybe a little bulkier in volume than other shoes, they are certainly lightweight, comfortable and long-lasting. Over the years they have shaved a little bit off the heel area and I think that has been an improvement in an already great design. They really do last me a long time, but that might be because I always run these shoes into the ground until they have holes in them. I resist throwing them away. Sometimes I get two years out of a pair. Every runner has their favorite shoes, and Saucony Ride is mine.

I just bought my fifth pair of Ride 5s. I have trained for three marathons and put over 2,000 miles in wearing this style. I wore out lots of shoes but not my body (knock on wood, no injuries). They are cushy and supportive even on unforgiving pavement. I am a neutral runner, 35-50 miles per week and this is by far my favorite style of running shoes.

I am training for a 5K and wanted shoes that would absorb the shock. These shoes are great for running on the cement! I have noticed that I do need more arch support, but that is not the shoe that is the issue, its my own feet. I should have purchased over pronating shoes because that is what I needed. Well I know now. These shoes are great for average arches.

I've owned several iterations of the Saucony ProGrid Ride and they are always fantastic. I tried going with a more minimalist style on my last pair and ended up with a knee injury, so have happily returned to these. I typically run about 12-15 miles per week.

Tried other brands before and finally got a shoe that fits, feels springy, and no aches in my feet after wearing all day. I'm not a runner but needed shoes for walking long distances. No arch pain anymore and no special insert needed.

This is the sneaker that I've been working with for years. I order the narrow. This time too narrow. Fits like a glove. I'm not sure I could move my toes. I would suggest that it might only work for ones with really narrow feet. (You always order the N or AA to AAAA.) Other than that, it's my go to sneaker. I'm a walker.

The best. I love these shoes. I bought a pair of the pink ones in a larger size (on accident, actually) and after a few weeks I decided I really needed a smaller pair. I went all over town trying on shoes and nothing fit like these. I'm so glad I decided to give these a go again. They still feel like I'm running on a cloud, and my medium arches are supported completed. I even have slightly wide feet and these are just roomy enough. It's like they were made for me.

I have been buying the Saucony ProGrid Ride for three years. I was originally fitted for this shoe at a local running store, and have found it to be the most comfortable of sneakers I've tried. I know everyone's foot is different, so it can be hard to recommend sneakers. But these are lightweight and give the correct support I need. I've also always liked the colors, which is an added bonus for sneakers.

In a nutshell, great, light, quick running shoe. If you have had difficulty finding running shoes that feel good, I strongly suggest you find somewhere to try them on, particularly a running store where someone can evaluate your running form. I'm a 10-20 mi/week runner, this is my third pair of Sauconys (Ride 3 and Triumph 8 before I got these). As previous reviewers have commented on, the vertical drop from the heel to toe is lower than the previous models of the Ride, which does take some getting used to. However, it lightens the shoe and forces you away from a heel impact, and more towards hitting the ground with the middle of your foot. Takes getting used to, but by my third run, I loved it. I also noticed the feeling of your heel slipping out that someone else commented on. It does feel that at first, but my heel isn't actually moving, and it doesn't feel like it will slip off. The feeling just takes getting used to.

Why did Saucony change the best running shoe ever? The 4 mm change in the height really changed my rhythm and caused me an ankle injury. I tried to get used to the new shoe and ran about 30 miles before realizing it wasn't worth the hurt. I guess it's goodbye to Saucony Ride for this faithful runner.

I am a first-time marathoner, and I have made it through my dreaded 18 mile long run in comfort wearing these shoes! Extremely cushy and took some getting used to the extra cushioning (compared to the older model Brooks Adrenaline). I was fitted for these shoes based on wear patterns that showed the Adrenaline were giving me too much guidance. I am a size 8 in street shoes and take a 9.5 to give me room in the toebox. Great shoe!

Great shoe and great brand! It's lightweight but not as cushioned as the Grid 3. This one (Grid 5) still does a great job of absorbing the shock. Seems to feel more like slippers than the earlier models as my foot breathes a little more. Love the styling and colors! They'll definitely inspire you to run!
