My 10 year old loves these shoes. He has wide feet and they fit him perfectly. There is not a lot of support like the thicker soled shoes.

I really like the first version of this shoe so I couldn't wait to try the second generation. What a disappointment. The fit is just terrible. The plastic overlays that are new to the second generation causes the toe box to flex in really odd places creating an uncomfortable feel all the way around. I knew I was returning after five seconds.

I really like this shoe. Really lightweight and a very thin sole which I wanted. Had intended on using these for my morning "march" around the mall each day but immediately discovered that though they are an excellent fit and extremely comfortable, they don't have the shock absorption (thin sole in heel area) I need for fast walking on a hard surface. In my case, for this kind of activity, I obviously need a shoe that has that thicker shock absorbing sole near the heel. After completing my morning laps with these "NB"s for the first time my lower back was telling me I needed something different. For casual wear, however, the MX20V2 is not only a very sharp looking shoe, it's extremely comfortable as well. I'm certainly not dissatisfied with my purchase and am sure over time I'll get a lot of wear out of them.

New Balance hit it out of the park with this one. I am always searching for a shoe that fits properly and this is the first one that works for me. I have skinny ankles and wide feet. This shoe is great for lifting and offer tons of lateral support. They actually look like normal shoes on my feet compared to other pairs I've had that tended to look like clown shoes. As far as durability, I don't foresee any issues. The quality is great and the lining is actually thick enough to take some abuse. I've had other Minimus pairs and these are far superior to any others I've had.

Very light shoes and fit great for people with wide feet (2E). The take some time to break in, but once they are, they perform very well. I have trouble finding nice running shoes with wide feet and New Balance has become my go-to solution.

Wowee! Zowee! This is a very comfortable shoe. These are replacing my Inov-8 f-lite 230 as my everyday walkers averaging 10-12 miles/day. I always buy a half size up and always wear socks. It has been a winning combination. I have had different brands but this is the first NB "barefoot" model I have tried and am immediately pleased with the choice! Thanks Zappos for the super fast shipping!

These are good shoes. They seem to be well built and they are comfortable. I bought them because I had specific requirements. For instance, I needed a lace up sneaker that would fit my wide feet (moderate width such as an "E" and not "EE"), was light and flexible, and would give me a good sense of touch with my toes and the bottom of my feet because I use them to pilot aircraft. I need shoes that give me a good feel of the rudder pedals and these shoes fit the bill. The only thing I would change about them is the loud orange color. It's definitely bright but it's toned down somewhat by the overall black design scheme. I definitely recommend these shoes and this does not happen often because I am very picky about gear and equipment. Let's see if they last a year.

Brands I'd also recommend: None. New Balance is the only quality sneaker for people with wide feet. NB are well built.

They are thin and flexible and great for working out. They don't work well for spin class though, the shoes are too thin for the bike straps.

I have had problems with various shoes creating corns on my little toes over the years. I use to shop in the stores and had to make do with whatever they had. I would have to go up a half size or some times they would carry EE. But my feet would not lay flat, would cramp up, and create painful corns on my little toes. Then I found Zappos and tried various brands in the proper sizing for my feet. I have to say New Balance makes a great shoe; I have had no problem with my feet since I been wearing their shoes. And Zappos is hassle free, and they deserve a five star rating.

Minimus is a great, lightweight, trainer. The base is solid enough to give support without being mushy. This is particularly important when doing side to side movements (like P90X). The minimal design forces you into a more natural running motion on the balls of your feet. Just be ready as your calves will be sore for the first few weeks. I haven't had them long enough to tell how they will hold up but 5 stars so far.

Overall, I'm very happy with the shoe. Having recently undergone foot surgery, I was concerned that these shoes wouldn't provide adequate support, but I find them quite comfortable. I wouldn't recommend them if you intend to be super active, but they're a good everyday shoe.

These shoes look great and are very comfortable. I bought them for use in the gym because of their low profile. The heel to toe offset is only a couple mm. They are great for leg pressing, and weight lifting done on your feet.

I was very pleased with the overall of this shoe. I have pretty wide feet so these shoes fit perfectly for me, so take that into consideration hen I say these were true to width. I'm really a fan of the orange design at the bottom. But this show has one big problem, poor support. Which is weird for an athletic shoe. Compared to most athletic shoes, there is almost no arch and little cushion, but does have good stability.

If you're reading this you're too are probably in search for the perfect fitment. Well I can tell you right now; the fitment isn't bad! And they look good! For me those are the two criteria that need to be satisfied in order for me to keep a shoe. The crease feeling that people have been mentioning is true. On the inside where the silver plastic meets black fabric kind of where your big toe starts, you can feel a slight tension when the front of the shoe flexes in stride, or tippy toeing. It's not a deal breaker but it is a little bit annoying. I have very wide feet, and the 2E is a bit more accommodating than having to wear "D" width shoe. Although it's not painful it's definitely snug for you wide-footed bretheren. But really that's what I was looking for! So considering Zappo's inventory constraint, I was looking for a good looking, light, wide, minimal shoe with as small amount of heel lift as possible (for grounded and no flex weight lifting). If you're looking for something to do some lifting and light cardio in, this seems to be a great and very versatile/gym shoe. Probably not recommended for long runs or wet conditions though.

These are suitably comfortable, low-profile shoes, but they are a substantial step down from the original MX20. The bizarre hard plastic shell creates uncomfortable rigidity in the shoes. The toebox is slightly less roomy than the MX20.

There are handsome tennis shoes that are comfortable walking, weightlifting and body pump shoes. The souls are ok for step aerobics, but not the best. They look good on the foot and the color combination does turn heads.

Look cool but seem to run narrow. Flex point on the upper are a bit off due to narrowness and the plastic type material on the upper of the forefoot. Sending back.

First version of these were great, in fact still wearing them while my mx20V2 just sit there. way too stiff to run in. Not so much a minimalist shoe but a flat lifting shoe. I even pr'd my snatch in these better than my olympic lifting shoe but hate running on them and the toe box is really long which trips up my double-unders. Love New Balance and hope they fix the problems for the 3rd version.

I totally agree with the review that the plastic overlays cause the shoe to crease and fold in when you bend the toe area. This impinges on your foot in a very uncomfortable fashion. Fortunately, New Balance has several other offerings built on the minimus last that do not share this design flaw.
