I was hoping that this was just an updated version of the NB MW927, but it is a completely different model with a completely different fit. NB shoes used to be ones that the same size and width would fit from model to model, but no more!

I totally agree with "Eric B" --these 928's are NOT the same shoe as the old 927's--I wore out 2 pair of the 927's walking all day long on concrete floors in a home improvement warehouse--thought they were the best shoes I'd ever worn. Went back to store to get my third pair and was happy to pay for them--but was told they had been discontinued and replaced by the "new and improved" 928's. I gladly purchased them and wore them to work only to my shock and surprise, that by lunch, my feet were killing me and they seemed to not have near the cushioning the old 927's had. Had to go home and change back into my old shoes. New Balance better get their act together or they're going to lose all their business. Now a FORMER New Balance customer.

This shoe has been badly cheapened by New Balance. It is now made in Vietnam; previous models were made in China. Sizing is all wrong. I ordered a 6E -- it is no where near that, and the overall construction seems flimsy. Disappointed in New Balance.

Zappos is great, but I am loosing faith with New Balance. The 926 fit fine, but the 927 has too much space in heels, but the toe fine. In the 928 the front part is too oval shaped.

The shoes were a disappointment because the glue that would hold the sole together was falling apart. I've never seen this happen before and I felt bad for my brother because they were a gift to him. I order from Zappos very frequently as a VIP member and I really wish I would have called and see if they would've taken them back because it was in months that it happened. It was just very poor quality or maybe I received a fluke.

The MW928 is a marked improvement over the MW 811. Excellent fit and finish. Improved stability. I took out my custom orthopedics and am better off for doing so. Zappos gives you peace of mind in making a size decision, if they're not right, by all means exchange them. This is my second pair of 928's so I knew what I was ordering. I wear narrow and buy one half in size larger (11 1/2 instead of 11) than my measured size. I like a little extra wiggle room. New Balance offers a complete selection of widths. I've found New Balance to be the best walking shoe of a number of "name" brands I tried.

I ordered these shoes based on the advice of my podiatrist, for their exceptional support, availabiity in a 4E width, room for orthotics, and use as everyday casual shoes. He was correct on all counts, and I'm very pleased with them. They've allowed me to avoid bunion surgery for a while longer.

Really glad I came across the Zappos web site. My shoes were same as orthopedic shoes that I purchased from my doctor. Needless to say I was very pleased as I truly like New Balance Brand. I am a retired professional chef and have spent many years standing on my feet and have suffered with foot pain and back pain.I wear a size 15, 4E and this is the only shoe I have found that fits my foot properly. This is the third pair I have purchased in this style. I go to the gym every day and I have found this shoe makes it much easier to walk on the treadmill compared to a traditional tennis shoe. Also, there is a remarkable improvement in my back pain and I contribute this to the overall construction of this shoe. These shoes are good-looking, comfortable, light and you actually feel like you're walking on air, no kidding! I know that I highly recommend these shoes and I will continue to purchase them from Zappos.

I have worn NB 620 series cross trainers for years but got tired of the heavy weight and hot weather sweating. The 928s are good looking and the mesh fabric is a great change from the leather/synthetic uppers on the cross trainers. A very solid shoe and felt great right out of the box.

These are the only shoes I can find that fits me perfectly that I can wear all year round and be thrilled to have them. I bought two pairs last Fall. The first pair bit the dust last week. They were used in rain and snow, used for snow blowing and daily walks in the woods. The upper/lower section on the inside front split and I was not able to glue them back. I am disappointed that they only lasted six months versus other shoes that I have had for many years. But, these have been the most comfortable. Thankfully, I had purchased a second pair and will be buying another from Amazon.

My husband and I wish the New Balance corporation would QUIT messing around with shoes that work. We both have used the previous models of this shoe (925's through 927's). I had to quit using them on the third change. Now, my husband has to stop using them. Why can't they just leave well enough alone? AGH!

I purchased these shoes for my Dad who was having intense heel pain for a week or so. He stayed off his feet for a little while and when they started feeling better, he began to walk around more and in these shoes. The day he received them he walked all over town and to the post office. He said he doesn't have heel pain anymore and that these shoes are very comfortable. I think giving these shoes to him has made him exercise and go for walks more often. I'm very pleased with this purchase (I'm also an avid New Balance fan of the old 1011MC and 1140 for stability and over pronation).

This is a good quality shoe which has a relatively stiff sole, providing good walking stability and reducing the pressure on the ball of the foot at the end of the stride. When I took the shoe to have a custom orthotic fitted to the shoe, his comment was, "Wow, this is a high-end shoe!"

I bought my Dad a pair of 928's recommended by his podiatrist a couple months before he passed...he never wore the shoe but after paying the high price I wasn't going to sell 'em at a yard sale for peanuts, so I wore 'em at work...and work I do...as a FedEx Express courier, I run my you know what off every day to deliver exemplary service to all our customers...these shoes have lasted me longer than any other shoe and are very comfortable! I highly recommend them! Maybe the detractors ought to try my job and then comment on this superior shoe!

This shoe is considerably narrower than the previous 927, which is considerably better for my narrow feet. I bought 5 pair to avoid the usual habit of NB to remake their shoes in different fits.
