I have been wearing this line of NB for years - this time it is so stiff that it stabs my ankle. Rats. It fits, but like wearing steal.

I'm very disappointed with this shoe. I bought the New Balance WW968 to wear on a walking trip to Ireland. I wanted a pair of light-weight, waterproof shoes. I purchased the shoes in December, 2012, wore them to get ready for the walk, and then wore them on our 112-mile, 10 day walk in May 2013. Although I was initially happy with the shoes, several serious problems with design and defect developed. Here are the basic problems: 1. The shoe has eyelets for the laces. Consequently, when it rains hard, or when you step in a puddle, even if the water does not go over the top of the shoe, it trickles through the eyelets. 2. Despite thoroughly breaking in the shoe, I blistered, largely because my feet were wet. (See above.) 3. Worst of all, I noticed on the penultimate day of the trip that the sole is separating from the shoe! Granted, we walked in some wet weather, and through mud. But the shoes were less than 6 months old, and had no more than 300 miles on them when this happened. These shoes are way too expensive to perform in such a shoddy manner.

As with most NB shoes, this boot has a nice heel fit (narrower than most shoes). I wish they would also widen the toe box a bit more for a fit that truly follows the line of an actual woman's foot.

I recently moved back to New England after five years in Florida wearing sandals and flip flops. I needed an all purpose shoe that I could stand to wear and chose this shoe. It's comfortable, stylish and sturdy. I do a lot of walking along a rocky beach and this shoe is perfect.

I was looking for a moderately priced sturdy and supportive all terrain shoe. I walk minumum of 1.5 miles every morning as my daily exercise. I bought these hoping they will fulfill my needs. I normally wear a size 7 shoe but purchased the 7.5 to accomodate wearing a padded athletic sock comfortably. After wearing them daily for two weeks, I can honestly say they are terrific! They did need a slight break-in period of a few days to get used to. Great cushioning and arch support. Light weight with solid construction. I found that my back and leg muscles are no longer aching as they did with the athletic shoes I wore. These shoes are waterproof, so no worries about wet feet or ruined shoes. They do feel wider than my regular athletic shoes; I can wear a heavier sock with these shoes in the winter without discomfort (I walked a day wearing my heavier socks to test it out). I purchased the brown color which will wear in nicely over time. If you're looking to make a fashion statement with this shoe, then this is not for you. This shoe is for those who take the outdoors seriously.

I bought these shoes almost a year ago. They are beginning to show wear but I've been wearing them just about every day. Yeah, they're not exactly summer wear but when I'm out walking I need the support since fracturing a bone in the side of my foot. These have great support for your feet. Even my foot doctor was impressed.

I use these as work shoes and I wear orthopedics. I first took the insole out and put in my orthopedics and at the end of the night my feet were sore. I added the insoles back in and added my orthopedics insoles and bam I love them. They are stiffer then they the 928 but I love that. My feet move less and flex less and don't feel so over worked. I have worked at out hospital for over 30 years on my feet all night and have learned now at my age less flexing is good for my feet. It has good shock absorbency and the forward foot rolls up some and also feels it has good grip in the toe area with cushion.

Comfortable and great fit immediately out of the box. Excellent tread for walking in Michigan's snow and ice. I find them completely waterproof due to the tongue design. Took a 5 mile walk on Saturday, the first day with temperatures above freezing after getting about 20" of snow and ice the week before. Deep puddles everywhere. My pantlegs were wet halfway to my knees but my feet were toasty and dry.

These are without question the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. When I first got them the tongue was a little hard at the top, but after 4 - 5 days of wear they softened. Other than that there was no breaking in period. I can hike all day in them and my feet do not get tired. I have always had trouble getting comfortable shoes. These are awesome!

I have finally found a pair of super comfortable shoes that don't look like tennis shoes but sure feel like them. Since these are waterproof, I plan on wearing them all winter for running around town. These shoes have put the spring back into my walk. I wish they came in another color because I'd buy those too.

I absolutely loves these shoes! You get all the comfort & sturdiness that New Balance promises, plus the look of a desert boot, sort of. I ordered them for the look & the brand & I'm not disappointed!

Brands I'd also recommend: Softspots, for durability! (Last forever.)

These New Balance 968s in 7 1/2 EE are perfect for my seriously wide feet with bunions. The toe box is roomy, but the heel still fits. There is room for my orthotics. I love them. They also have a nice hiking shoe look.

I bought these shoes because they are described as waterproof, and I'm going to be taking a long, 100+ mile walk in Ireland later this spring. I bought these shoes a half size larger than I normally wear, based on other reviews. The size 7 is perfect for my 6.5 feet. In addition, I was able to wear these shoes out of the box for a two-mile walk, and then, a week later, spent four long days walking and sight seeing in Savannah, Georgia, with nary a blister or problem with my feet. The shoes are surprisingly lightweight, but sturdy. When I first put them on, they feel a little stiff, but that seems to subside as I walk. The real test will come in May when we'll see if they stand up to bogs and rain. Fingers crossed.

I have very wide feet across the toes. For years I had to buy shoes that were too long just to get them wide enough. Well, not anymore. I wear new balance all the time now. I bought these WW968 and they are so comfortable that I didn't even need a break in period. These are sporty looking and very well made. They lace up nice and snug or you can leave them a little looser. Great all purpose casual or hiking shoes.

Brands I'd also recommend: for me its New Balance or nothing!

Shoe very comfortable, and offers great support. The only negative I have is that the color shown is not the true color of the shoe - it is dark brown.

These shoes are very supportive and comfortable. I broke them in for about a week before wearing them hiking on St John, and they were perfect -- not too hot, waterproof enough. Now I'm warm enough wearing them in this cold Northeast winter. I needed a stiff sole because I broke a metatarsal last year. This works.

Very comfortable with an extremely well padded tongue and heel surround. The heel padding comes up a little higher in the back than I'd like, so I hope it won't irritate my Achilles tendon. I am impressed with the waterproofing and warmth.

Wow! This is the first time I shopped Zappos and I'll definitely be a repeat customer. What a convenience to have free shipping and returns! Anyway, after ordering about 6 different shoes, I finally hit the jackpot! The first time I wore these shoes, it was only for a few hours and they felt good. Now since I've worn them all day, I don't want to take them off! The wide is a true wide. My feet are so comfortable in these New Balance shoes and being waterproof is great too. I wish all my shoes fit like these do. They are PERFECT :)

I made a two mile hike right after taking them out of the box. I like the waterproof feature. Since I usually wear size 7┬ŻAAAA, shoes are not easy to locate and were not available in the local New Balance store. They fit great with thick socks.

This shoe felt a little high on the ankle but softened immediately. Large enough to wear a thick sock which is nice in such a durable shoe. Need to lace it tightly to prevent heel from slipping. I love this shoe. It is perfect for a rainy winter climate. One could go on a trail hike with it.

Just returned from 2 weeks of traveling in Europe, walking constantly. This was the only walking (non-sneaker) shoe that I could find that fit my 6EE foot well. After breaking them in for a couple weeks before the trip, they were very comfortable & fully waterproof throughout.

These are really nice. Very comfortable and nice looking. Felt great in the toe box. Heel comfortable and didn't slip. Able to wear thick socks without crowding my foot. But after wearing them around the house for an hour or so the tongue, which is very stiff, rubbed my ankle sore. Have to return them. Bummer.

I needed a pair of good walking shoes for vacation & these are great. They also have the added benefit of being waterproof. It's extremely difficult to find a 10-1/2 wide shoe in brown & New Balance is one of the rare companies that does. I am so thankful for Zappos & their no charge policy for shipping both directions.
