I have never tried the v1 of these shoes, so I can't speak to how it compares to the previous version. But, all told, I really like this shoe. I wanted something that I could wear to 1) Zumba and 2) to do strength training/circuit training when I wasn't walking/running. This fits the bill. You're practically barefoot in this shoe. It will definitely take me a while to build up to using these all the time, but I'm interested in the benefits of barefoot training so I'm happy to invest the time. The upper part of the shoe offers good support so that you're foot isn't wiggling around which is nice. The shoe is crazy light weight - as you'd expect from a shoe with hardly anything to it! As others have noted, the sole isn't the most flexible (which may take away from the barefoot factor) but that was something I appreciated. I do a lot of squats releve (on my toes) and had suffered an injury to the bone below my big toe in the pad of my foot. The solution for this is to have a less flexible sole, so for my purposes this was really great and will hopefully help prevent reinjury. Somethings to note: 1) the box for the shoes states that these are minimalist trail running shoes, but from my limited time in them I feel they are much more multipurpose than that. 2) the sole of the shoe is made by vibram, the makers of the toe shoes. I can't remember if that was mentioned in the product description so I thought I'd mention it here. Finally, the most important factor to me was how they look. I bought the lavender/bright orange color and they are very cool looking! I'm very pleased with my purchase. The price is a little steep so I may try to keep my eye out for a lower price, but I'm still very pleased.

I ordered the NB WT20 V1 and V2. This V2 is not flexible at all compared to V1. Very stiff material. Stick with V1. Love the Berry color though.

I have wide, flat feet and typically wear a size 11, regular-width running shoe (10 in everyday shoes). Based on previous reviews, I ordered a size 10.5 wide which I planned to use for weight-lifting and general gym cross-training. Although these shoes are really great looking, I returned them for a few reasons: -These shoes are huge (and I have big feet!). Despite sizing down 1/2 a size, these shoes were still too long, especially in the back. -There is a strange seam/bump in the non-removable insole that was right beneath both of my big toes. It felt so weird that I thought maybe a smaller size insole had been put in my shoes. -Lastly, the top of these shoes are very stiff and only really bend at the mid-toe. It's a bit hard to explain, but my toes definitely took a beating during my test walk in the house.

I'm a new mom and that means that with the gift of life, I've also received the gift of bigger feet. It's awesome. Now that it's fall, I can't avoid the inevitable with flip-flips anymore and I've been systematically replacing my shoe collection. I had a recent trip to Seoul that I bought these shoes for as my walking shoes. They're a little wider in the toe box which was perfect for my now bigger feet and the color (berry) was so cute. But I guess there are things that are too good to be true. 3 weeks of having them and the shoes already have holes on both above the pinkie. It's not like I trekked the Himalaya in those 3 weeks. I was sightseeing with a 3 month old! Not sure if these are eligible to be returned but have to retire these. It's getting too cold out to wear shoes with holes in them!

I wear the NB 20 v1; I ordered the NB 20 v2 - too big. I had to order 1 full size smaller. Material is stiff; does not have the barefoot feel at all. I will stick with the NB 20 v1 or if I have to - NB 10.

The shoe was about a size larger than normal. The sole was hard to bend. I love the color, not the shoe.

These are a solid minimalist type shoe. I just got them a few days ago, so can't yet comment on some of the other reviews of how well they hold up, but so far I like them a lot. They are not a super flexible sole as are some minimal style shoes, but have a nice flat footbed to them, and very nice lightweight upper. I ordered another color I enjoyed them so much. I am a Vibram 5 fingers wearer by summer, but in Nebraska winter I needed something comfortable that I would keep my feet a bit warmer and this fits the bill perfectly. I think they are pretty true to size also. I usually wear a 12 in athletic shoes and these fit great. Love the bright berry color too!

When I first put on these shoes they felt so small and tight. I even bought another pair one size up but realized that they were way too big. So I wore the shoes that first felt like they were small but now they are snug and comfortable. I guess you just have to break them in. I love them!

This shoe is freakin' awesome! I have had 4 pairs of these just to alternate as I love to run. I easily put about 7-10 miles a day on these and they hold up beautifully! Fantastic!

I have a wide foot and the regular size 8 fit me perfect. It has a surprising amount of arch support for a low profile shoe. Bought them for cross fit. Love them!

Very comfortable with great stability for lateral movement for crossfit, etc. and solid ground contact for running. Very lightweight but still supportive. Plus, great color. Slightly big (can't tell if it's in length or width), not half a size, but remediable by wearing thicker socks.

This is my most favorite tennis shoe I've ever worn. It's lightweight and not over padded but the most important feature is I can buy it in Wide and it doesn't slip on my heel.

I bought these at Foot Locker last week, and normally I wear a 7 or 7 1/2; I actually had to go down to 6.5, and there's still a little extra at the toe. They are wider than regular running shoes, but that's part of why they're so comfortable. I'm on my feet for 8 hours a day, and my previous pair of Nike's would do nothing. By the end of the day, I was in tears from the pain. They are extremely light, making it easier on my bad leg. The back hits me right on the achilles, but thicker socks took care of that. I have incredibly high arches, and I was very concerned about the lack of support, but they are fabulous. Would I spend this much for another pair? Absolutely. They have changed my life.

I love these shoes. They are light and comfortable for weekends, take up very little room in the suitcase, and can double as gym shoes on the road.

As far as a minimalist shoe goes, this one is the most attractive, in my opinion. My problem lies, I think, in the lack of any heel lift. It almost feels like the heel lies below the forefoot when wearing these shoes - probably because I'm used to at least a little heel lift. A couple of years ago, I partially tore my soleus muscle, and there probably still is some scar tissue in that area. Every time I wear these shoes (and it would probably happen with just about any minimalist shoe), my calf muscle on that same side seems to cramp up or spasm, causing a lot of pain. This does not happen when I wear Nike Free's, but they do have a bit of heel lift in them and are not minimalist shoes. So, my advice is do not get these type of shoes if you have any calf/soleus/achilles issues because they will make it worse.

Extremely light shoes, great for walking. Since they are bare-foot shoes, they are not for people who have been using Nike air or other shoes which provide support and help while walking. Great look, but if they get wet, it damages easily due to the thin material.

I ordered these sneakers because I had another pair of minimus NB and loved them. This pair is comfortable and I love them, but they have not held up like I expected them to. I've only worn them for 2 months, and have not even run in them, and I already have large holes in each one by my "pinky" toes. Really disappointed in the quality of these shoes and I wont be buying them again.

I did not care for these shoes. I felt the seams or something under my arches, and when I flexed my feet, the fabric in the front of the shoes felt crackly and resistant. It is possible that the shoes were just too wide at that point for me (size 10W, which is my normal New Balance shoe size). I pronate, so that is part of the issue with the way the arches feel. These shoes did feel the lightest of the three brands that I tried, though.

Very poor quality. I have worn these or only a few months, without abusing them at all and they are completely torn across the front (on top of the toes where it bends as you walk).

I broke my ankle, and after a year or so of healing, decided to get back into running. I was advised to start slow, and get some minimal shoes. BAD ADVICE! These might be the worst pair of athletic shoes I have ever purchased. the shoes fell apart almost immedialty. after two wears, the soles were worn out- the tread was just gone in places. The top side material shredded after about four wears. AND I strongly advise anyone with messed up ankles to buy shoes with support. Dont waste your money on these shoes.
