Best work boots I've ever owned. Comfortable, durable but I don't know how long they last....cause I still have them from 3 years ago! Also, I work in pretty tough conditions. You'll love 'em!

These are well made, good looking, have many fine features, (especially the lacing system which has the little triangle gizmo for the lace to go thru where lace turns from foot-top to up the leg so you can lace em snug at the heel) not the least of which is the more I wear them, more comfortable they feel. Folks, the anti-fatigue feature with the built-in extra support under the heel and balls of your foot is amazing! Walk/run on a treadmill in them for several minutes as part of your try out routine and you will find out just how much they offer you! I think you will be very glad you did! As for size, I usually do fine with 8M but I needed 8W in these, so for some of you, expect to need wider size than you may be used to getting. I am aware that some reviewers mentioned how these plastic speed lace eyelets broke very soon on them, so I plan to be very careful in lacing them and will return them to Zappos in a heartbeat if they break on me! Zappos, be forewarned! And please get Timberland to offer these boots insulated with metal eyelets! Like the Brown 8" Helix item 91607 that is otherwise identical to this boot under review here. That Brown 91607 appears much tougher made to me, and there were no reviews mentioning problems with broken lace eyelets when I recently double-checked reviews ! Zappos, if you cannot assure me of no return hassle in case of broken eyelets for one year after purchase, just let me know and I will return them now. unfortunately I am having a much harder time finding quality safety toe 8" inch black boots, compared to the huge selection in brown, but this Timberland Helix seems excellent in every other respect besides my concern over plastics lace eyelets, so I am going to give them a try!

Great feeling boot. Eyelets are not good quality. I have broke multiple eyelets. I broke one this morning putting my new pair on for the 2nd time.

Best boot I have ever worn. Feels a bit tight at first, but the longer you wear them, the better the feel. Break in time was about 2 days, after that these boot naturally go on and off with ease. I work as a Cable installer and spend extended periods of time on a ladder with the heels locked in around the rungs, meaning the rungs are directly in the bottom of the foot, and with these i can barely feel the pressure, excellent support. Have yet to get a wet foot, either from morning dew, rain or sweat. Great all weather boot so far, but having worn them in hot weather yet.

Boots are comfortable and a good fit. size is was tough to settle on so try different options before deciding. 12 was a little big, but 11.5M and W did not cut it so i stayed with the 12 as it felt the best. Also is light and great to be on all day.

Finally a boot that is truly waterproof! I have been in the construction business for more than 25 years. Somehow water will always manage to get into every boot by the tongue. Not this boot! I have not once had wet feet! They were comfortable the very first time I wore them. I am a bit disappointed with the support. They lack cushioning inside and proper arch support. I am going to have to buy a cushion insert as my feet have started hurting a bit. Overall, I love the boots. So far, these are the best out of all the boots I have purchased over the years. I have tried every style and brand out there. Now the true test is to see if the grips on the bottom are solid or hollow as they wear away.

I bought these as a gift for my husband. He LOVES them! He loves the way they look, but more importantly, he thinks they are crazy comfortable. He tends to be very particular about his shoes. He loves style but needs to have his shoes be comfortable for long periods of wearing time. They are rugged and manly (from my point of view) and are perfect for where we live (the mountains). Regarding sizing: I first ordered a size 11 which is my husband usually wears but they were too big. I returned them (love zappos easy no hassle return policy) and ordered a 10.5. It was a perfect fit. Overall, I would recommend this shoe to any guy who wants to look good and needs a durable all around work boot. My man is more of a city boy but more and more he has been doing a lot more things outside and getting his hands (and feet!) dirty. This shoe allows him to protect his feet in the elements AND look good.

I work outside 10 hours a day. These boots keep up with me! They're comfortable warm and keep my feet dry in pouring down rain.

These are awesome boots. There was no break-in period. They were immediately comfortable. They are comfort water-proof as advertised. I would highly recommend them. I have two pairs now one for work and one for home.

These are great outdoor work boots. They were comfortable the first time I laced them up. I have scuffed the toes up but that just means I work hard and the boots can take it.

I work on a tugboat working a 12 hour shift in some crappy conditions. The first time I wore these boots was on watch. They were comfortable right out of the box! They are durable and comfortable! I wear a 10 in Timberland shoes, but had to order a 10½ for these boots.

Ordered these for my husband who is an electrician. He loves them because they were comfortable right out of the box. He has nerve damage from a back injury and surgery and has pain in his foot that gets aggravated when standing for long periods, especially on concrete. These boots help tremendously with this. Only slight con with these is they skin up easily. That might be prevented by putting on some boot conditioner before wearing them.

I hate to say this because I really wanted these boots to be excellent, but after 4 months of everyday normal wear (no abuse at all ), they are already falling apart. Specifically the plastic eyelets are breaking off and popping out of position then sliding up and down the laces which puts the pressure of the laces directly upon the leather eyelet holes which in turn are now ripping, very very disappointing and definitely not what you would expect from a pair of boots at this price. I would not be able to recommend these to other consumers.

I have had problems with the eyelets on boots breaking after only 2 months of regular use, I am on 4th replacement pair. Very low quality, spent too many hours on hold with customer service. I have been on hold for over 1 hour now, no answer. DO NOT BUY!!!! Unless you have countless hours to spend on hold with customer service and enjoy agitation. Very disappointed with Timberland! Too bad, comfy boots, but made from cheap materials. I suggest Zappos no longer carry their inferior products.

I choose to stick to Timberland because of my first pair of Timberland Pro that I have owned. They always kept my feet dry no matter what! I worked in masonry and I would spray my boots down after work and my feet would be completely dry. I am from Vancouver, a very rainy city, so I have experience on what kind of conditions Timberland Pros can go through. I have since then changed industry and now I work in the oil industry on service rigs. The conditions I face are just melted snow and mud puddles here and there. I bought this pair from Mark's Workwear House. The first pair that I bought had a leak in the toe area. I returned them and got the exact same pair because they were so comfortable hoping that I had just got a lemon. Unfortunately, my second pair leaked even worse! The anti fatigue foam underneath the insole would get very moist causing my socks to be constantly semi-wet. This caused my socks to bunch up in my boots, which was very annoying. Even worse, my feet would be cold from being kind of damp! I am very disappointed in the quality control for this particular boot. Everything is good about it but for some reason, they are not completely waterproof like my other pair of Timberland Pros from two years ago!
