I have the old XA Pro 3D Ultra Mid GTX, and bought the new one just for the stilling, the black ones are nice, as the black variant of the older model was sold out before I could buy them (at least regarding my local sports shop). The fit it's wider and longer opposed to the old model, but on par with the low variant of the shoe (XA Pro 3D Ultra2 GTX). They are good for hiking on mild terrain or for offroading (with a 4x4 or ATV), but I'm using them on wet weather and field ENG (electronic news gathering) or filming TV adverts or music video clips, as it's my occupation. The are good for driving, and the model lacks the reflecting element, found on the older model, which was nuisance in some cases, specially in cars equipped with foot well lights. Tested them on manual gearbox equipped compact and various other automatic cars.

Very stiff. Very narrow in the toe box. Have not experienced this problem before with these shoes or this brand. Hope they break in as I already threw the box away so I cannot exchange them.

I found the shoe a very comfortable fit and would recommend it to family and friends. Only one issue the laces are too long that I have tuck them within the lacing of the shoes.

These are great shoes for winter weather. They are surprisingly light and comfortable. They do not feel bulky like other boot styles. It took me a while to figure out how to use the Quicklace system. There is actually a secret lace pocket right at the top of the tongue where you can tuck the laces when the shoes are tied up!

Shoe looks great on, soft and light. Colors are fantastic and still looks cool as a size 12. But I think the fabric looks like it will tear and the laces are weird and seem like they would snag on stuff and would be difficult to replace if they ever broke. I don't even want to give it a try. Returning the ones I got for my guy. He said the fit was narrow and that the arch support was excellent.

These boots have really poor shoe lace. They just do not stay in place and keep loosening up. I must got really bad defective batch or something. I'm really upset as I've always had great experience with Salomon boots.

This shoe has a slide tie system that does not let you skip the top eyelets. As a result, I cannot customize the fit of the shoe at my ankle and as a result, the shoe traumatizes my fibular malleolus areas (the outer protuberances) on both of my ankles. It is impossible to modify the lace system to customize it because the cord holes for the tie system are way too small to accept a regular shoe string. Good luck if you buy these and have the same issue I do. I walked 5 miles and that was it, I could not tolerate any more.
