I bought these shoes for two reasons. 1) New Balance always has my width. 2) To fix the Compartment Syndrome pain in my legs. These shoes are exactly as described and it's like being barefoot. The sizing chart helped me make the fit. The Compartment Syndrome pain is already lessened after just 15 miles. (It's the minimal shoe design that repairs the Compartment Syndrome pain).

Brands I'd also recommend: New Balance is the only brand I recommend for wider widths

A great balance of a minimalist fit/feel, with enough protection to actually use as a primary shoe if you already have the musculature for natural running. This is actually my second pair of these (I bought the Orange/White color way about two months prior to this pair, and have designated them as my walking shoes). My favorite thing about the shoe is that rather than curling up around the edges as many other minimalist shoes do (MT10v2, vivobarefoot, etc.), these extend slightly past the edges of your foot to give you a slightly more stable landing on the road. I found that shoes with curled up sides (while great on the trail) tended to give me a bit more ankle problems on the road because the platform was just inherently unstable on a flat surface like a road.

An excellent running shoe for minimalist runners. Comfortable with or without socks, very flexible sole, 12mm or so of sole is plenty of protection from gravel or similar debris.

My feet feel very comfortable in this shoe. Also, running in them is a joy. I am a fan of "close to the ground" shoes not only in running but in tennis. Awesome shoe. Wear it around the house long time before and after runs just for fun.

A super minimal shoe. A little more there than say the Minimus Trail but far from the feel of a supportive shoe. I think they're great for short AM runs but I wouldn't do distance in them unless you are already an accomplished sub-minimal shoe runner. Super comfortable right out of the box and have held up much better than I would have initially thought.

I love this shoe. A pair of squishy runners jacked my knees, and these are stabilizing. Love the wide toe box. Using the toes to balance and push off also helps my knees.

Awesome comfort and style! I keep a pair of New Balance in rotation. Glad to see New Balance taking steps in this direction. Great minimalist shoe. Though the color combination of the pair I purchased is no longer available, these shoes are certainly on the radar for a second purchase.

A zero drop shoe with a wide option - excellent for me. This is my second pair. The old ones I keep around just to wear because they're so comfy. For me, the shoe is good for a 6 or 8 mile run but the sole is a little thin for longer so I have a flat gel insert I install when I need a little extra padding.

Excellent minimalist shoe. Some support and structure with a high-quality upper. It is much more 'minimal' in padding than the Nike Free, Saucony Kinvara, Asics GelLyte33. A bit firm for pavement (at least for me) but good for gym workouts on treadmills and lifting (0 drop).

I had to give up running a couple of years ago. So I was wearing these as casual wear. They are very comfortable, cool looking especially with blue jeans. when you hit 65 years old you need a soft ride. These are it.

These tennis shoes are as light as they come. They are excellent running shoes. If these are your first minimalists, you will have to get used to them. They are as light and good as they come. The color is great, the material is durable, breathable. Overall these are top notch.

I ordered these because I was looking for a minimal, barefoot mimicking shoe available in my size (14 EE). These were everything I was hoping for and more. Insanely comfortable without socks, roomy in all the right places and, so far, very resilient. I could not be happier with them.

I recently purchased these shoes to replace my Nike Free runners. I had previously purchased the New Balance Minimus 0 trail shoes, and really liked them. These shoes were just as nice. I have put in about two weeks worth of running, and have no complaints. They are very minimal, and awesome as a barefoot shoe. I also really like the blue color, as I prefer bright running shoes.

An excellent minimal shoe choice. Provides a zero drop, no arch, flexibility, and decent toe room. It's minimal enough to give you ground feel but no so minimal as to hurt your feet on rocks or long runs. I like the style because it looks like a sneaker (most minimal shoes look like a mitten for your foot). I used the MR00 version 1 for years and loved it. If you're comparing this to the original, it does in fact feel a tad narrower. The base is exactly the same as before including the width, however the upper is a sturdier material that creates this tighter feel through the midfoot. On the upside, this new upper is much more durable than version 1. If you're a minimal shoe user who is very concerned about width, be warned. (Also tried out the E2, it's only slightly wider.)

I've worn Nike Free-runs for a few years and decided to try something new. These look even better in person than in the pictures! Super light and great fitting shoe. I have a little bit wider foot so I ordered both standard and wide version to see which worked better. I ended up going with the wide version. I realize these are best for running but I do a lot of Crossfit and found out these aren't as functional for Crossfit as they are for running. They're a little hard to keep stable doing heavy squats, etc. but that could just be me. While running they help to keep you up on the balls of your feet instead of heel. My calves were burning on my first run with these! I've loved these so far, definitely worth the change. Also, I'd recommend going a half size smaller than usual.

I was hoping to find running shoes that weren't insane looking, but that is increasingly hard to do these days. In terms of comfort and shoes with a low profile, which I need because I have achilles problems, these were the best I could find. I swear by New Balance and these shoes don't disappoint, though the size seems to skew a little smaller. I just ran a half marathon and was having pain in my little toes from them being too tight, but hopefully that will improve with time.

Being a fan of the NB Minimus 10v2 Trail, I decided to go for a minimus road racing flat. This shoe fit the bill, but once i received it there were two deal breakers. First, the shoe ran a little narrow and small, just ever so slightly. Second, the heel cup is exceptionally high for a minimal shoe! I felt it scraping against my achilles when I first tried them on. I then compared the height to my 10v2 trails, and sure enough you have about a good 3/4 of an inch in extra height. There is no way these shoes would be comfortable on a full run. Another weird thing i noticed was that there seemed to be a negative drop from forefoot to heel. I have other 0 drop shoes and know what they should feel like against the ground. However I couldn't help but feel I was on an incline once I put the MR00 on. Back to Zappos they go. I am going to try the 10v2 roads instead.

I really did not like these shoes. I have very wide feet but I also really like minimalist shoes and that combination is hard to find. Therefore I usually get regular width shoes and just deal with it. I really wanted to like these shoes but when I tried them on they were a little tighter than I had expected and there was a hard ridge on the outside of the shoe that pushed my feet inwards and made walking very uncomfortable. Like my feet were being rotated inwards and I could feel my knees knocking together some. I don't know whats up with that but it makes me hesitant to buy any New Balance product again.

As someone still wearing an early version of MR10's, these were an utter letdown and were sent right back. I suppose they might be minimal by someone's definition, but they fit completely different - overall this feels like the fluffy "foot strapped to a marshmallow" sensation that I thought minimal footwear was supposed to avoid. On top of that, it was incredibly disappointing that the same size that fit like a glove in my old MR10s felt bizarrely small, with my feet leaking over the edge of the marshmallow fluff sole. New Balance seriously could have had a customer for life if they just delivered that slipper-comfortable shell in a new variety of colors every year, but I'm suddenly wary of anything with the "Minimus" logo.

I liked the light weight of these and the fit was fine but there is no cushioning around the tongue or ankle and it cut my Achilles tendon so I am returning them. On close inspection I thought that they were more cheaply made than my previous Minimus shoes.

There is something wrong with quality control on these shoe. It is a tragedy, really. I have been trying to replace my old MR00s for some time, and have tried on at least three or four. The inside of the heel has an annoying ridge on every pair that I have tried on. They feel terrible. I still wear my orange version that I bought a year or so ago. It feels great, has a well-constructed heel box, and it is still doing great. I would love to have the same shoe again, but the new ones all feel terrible due to poor construction. My old shoes would get five stars all around. This blue one, with its similar construction defect in several pairs, just cannot be worn.

I have worn Minimus Zeros for three generations now. In fact, I don't own any shoes, just these (and Olakai flip-flops which are great). This new model is a disaster. I wish I had checked the NB website where you can see a true reviews. These are clunky, the material does not breathe so you feet are super hot, the rim around the ankle is cut high so it rubs. They feel sloshy, so I had to check if I ordered the correct width. How could NB mess up such a good thing.
