Probably the greatest trail shoe ever made. If you are running very rocky terrain, the rock plate provides more then enough protection for even the longest races. The shoes are very lightweight, very comfortable without socks, and drain of water very fast. Perfect for the ultra trail runner. Before I forget, grip is amazing.

These shoes are garbage, but there is no zero star/do not buy option below. The heel section of the sole fell off day one. Zappos (as always!) immediately replaced them. The second pair, well, see that shiny perforated material between the laces and the toe? It separated, then peeled completely off. So in two weeks, two pairs of these "shoes" are unusable. The replacement pair now consists of paper-thin soles that lace. Generally, I look for more in a shoe at this price, and am not sure whether to laugh or cry at the fact that all ten toes are right there plain as day when needed for the more difficult addition problems. Thank you Lord, that Zappos loves their customers so much and tried to make this right. It is not Zappos fault these shoes are simply junk. Look closely, there is no stitching. My best guess is that a load of shoddy, stuck together with air soluble glue, disposable plastic hospital shoes were accidentally shipped to Zappos rather than the incinerator? Very much surprised at this flimsy, cheap, cannot be worn should you desire to "run" or "walk" footwear. What has happened to you New Balance?

Good shoe. They fit true to size on my foot. They do seem to run a little smaller than the minimus. I wear a 12.5 in those and in these a 13 felt better, but I like to run in a shoe that is a little lose. I like the addition of the rock guard in the fore foot, nice to have a little more protection on rocky trails. Still a very light and flat shoe. Have had for 2 weeks and have put around 100 miles on them and don't have any complaints with materials, construction, durability or fit.

I really like the lightness and durability of the NB MT110. I wear them all over from the gym to out in the yard. Very versatile and fits very true to size.

I was really excited to try this shoe after hearing lots of hype surrounding its development. I have been searching for a minimalist trail shoe that offers sufficient protection for rugged trail running that usually includes lots of rocks and roots. My immediate impression was that this is one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Right out of the box it had a great fit. That fit and the lightweight minimalist construction translated to incredible feel for the trail while running. The traction has seemed perfectly adequate and the thin rock shield offered just enough protection from rocks, roots and other trail hazards. The upper is constructed of some plastic/rubber compound that is designed to drain well and provide good ventilation. Unfortunately the upper is not designed to withstand the rigors of technical trail running on varied forest terrain. My shoe developed a serious tear in the upper on my 4th run. Several friends who run in the shoe have encountered the same problem. I would also urge caution in working into significant mileage with this shoe. The 4mm drop and minimal design encourage your feet and lower leg muscles to work pretty hard, which is the point of this shoe, but may require a transition period. It remains a great training shoe that I am currently using for low to moderate mileage runs (up to about 20 miles) on less technical trails. This still has the potential to be the best minimalist trail shoe out there if NB can address the weakness in the upper.

Brands I'd also recommend: inov8, brooks, saucony

These are the best running shoes that I have ever purchased. The fit was awesome and they are so light it feels like I am running shoeless. 4mm heel toe drop works great and there is just enough padding in the sole where its comfortable but still have proprioception. They have a very well put together and well thought out design.

I bought these because I hate wearing shoes in the summer but open toe sandals make my feet dirty. I can't believe how comfortable they are. I had some foot pain from running/soccer and it all went away after switching to these shoes. Have only done a couple warm up runs on a track with these before lifting so I can't comment on distance runs but I will say that they felt good for half a mile or so. My next couple pairs of shoes will be more mini-muses (minimi?).

Bought for Crossfit and light running. I used the Minimus and loved them for workouts, but needed more for running. This is it! Like better than Inov-8 so far (Inov-8 may be more durable, we'll see). So far they are perfect.

Great for crossfit. I have a very wide foot, which is why I usually go with NB. Although this shoe is not offered in 4E (which I prefer) I bought the 2E and one 1/2 size higher, and it has worked out very well. I would love it if NB would expand their offering regarding width sizes, but in the meantime this is a very good choice.

I don't know if I got a regular NB that was just marked wide, but these shoes were definitely not wide. Put them on and they immediately aggravated my neuroma (pinched nerve) in my foot. I've had my foot measured and it is straddling the medium/wide designation. I used to be able to wear medium shoes until the nerve became inflamed. Other wide shoes I've bought recently don't create any problems...be careful when ordering if you're looking for a true wide shoe. Would have loved for this shoe to work because I like the style (red/grey).

A dissenting view. This does not have a barefoot feel. I wanted a barefoot-style shoe with more protection from rocks than my Merrell trail gloves. I figured the small 4mm heel to toe drop wouldn't be a big deal. Wrong. The heel to toe drop is huge. They feel (to me) like a regular old running shoe with a little less air. If a zero (or near zero) heel to to drop matters to you, beware.

I've been running on these shoes for the past 9 months and I love them. I have flat feet and have had problems with shoes in the past but bought these because of the recommendation by a friend also with flat feet whose opinion I really trust. I will also say that I do wear a pair of orthopedic inserts from GoodFeet because I do need support. Previous to these shoes I would always purchase "motion control" shoes and spare no expense but I would still end up with shin splints and other aches and pains after running. Since using these shoes I've yet to have shin splints or any other pains. I honestly believe the lower heel and 4mm drop made all the difference in terms of how I was running and there's no doubt in my mind that I was running "incorrectly", I have not looked at my old shoes since purchasing these and highly recommend them.

Just ran Tough Mudder and these shoes did awesome. Plenty of traction up muddy hills and around corners. Felt a bit stiff at first but broke in well and 15 miles or so. I wore no socks on my runs. My heels did develop blisters, but I think any shoe would do that. Plenty of space up front for my toes. Rubbery outer surface. Deep treads. Laces hold tight - double knotted.

I have the MT 1010's and love the MT110 much more. I ran a 50k trail run with the 110s and only had one blister after. This is a great shoe every step is sure on all terrain.

I've been running trails and on farm land the last year or so with some barefoot shoes (different brand), and after a few miles, my feet hurt from feeling every single rock and other hard objects. I decided I needed slightly more between my feet and the ground (and more traction), so I went with these! They felt great the moment I put them on, and made a HUGE difference running off road. I even ran a Tough Mudder with these shoes, and I was amazed how well they handled the different terrain! From the slick mud, to the lose gravel, they rarely lost traction, and they felt just as comfortable on Mile 11, as they did on Mile 1. You can feel the air move through the shoe when you're running, which feels great! No signs of wear or tear after all that abuse. Will definitely buy these again.

My favorite Trail shoe. Trains and race in them with zero blisters, even on 50 mile races. Only problem is that the top material is not super strong and can get easily damaged. Minimalist shoe, only 4mm drop so not for everyone.

I do not think that I could be any happier with this purchase, the MT100 is an excellent trail running shoe. The cleated sole provides excellent grip, feels super stable and confident in wet conditions and rough terrain, even on steep downhills. The shoes also provide enough protection for your feet without sacrificing ground feel.

This is a solid semi-minimalist trail shoe. I have taken them out on varied terrain that has ranged from typical trails, to muddy trails and slippery rocks, and to sharp rocky hiking areas by the ocean; the grip is fantastic on land, and they stick pretty well in the mud, but do slip occasionally on wet muddy or slimy rocks. The 110s have held up significantly well over several hikes and trails thus far. I know people have described tears in the highly perforated upper, but I also haven't used them in high-brush areas yet (but could definitely see the top layer snagging and tearing potentially), thus the uppers have held up nicely. The 4mm heel-to-toe drop is perfect for me (I barely feel any drop at all), and the 18mm heel & 14mm forefoot stack height provides just enough cushioning that still allows me to feel the ground. Rock plate's been doing its job too. The middle of the outsole (under the arch) is just foam, so the "foam lugs" there wore away after the first hike -- no biggie, though, and hasn't negatively impacted the shoe's performance. I love how airy, dry, and cool my feet are because of the upper. As for the actual tread and lugs, I haven't used them on pavement, so they've held up significantly well thus far. Sizing: My feet are wide, and the toes line up pretty flat. I first ordered them in US 8.5 EE (wide), and I definitely noticed they fit well without socks. However, having tried the shoes on with even thin running/technical socks, my feet were definitely snug in them, touching the sides and almost the front. I knew I wouldn't be using them without socks, so I reordered in US 9.0 EE (thank you, Zappos, for free return shipping!); they fit like a dream with thin running socks and comfortably without any dead-space in wool hiking socks. (My guess is that those running without socks may fit the US 8.5 EE just fine.) My feet measure about 257mm long and 105mm wide. For comparison, I also wear New Balance 993 in US 8.5 D (a little snug but do break in a little), and the US 8.5 EE feel wide and comfy (just generous enough with no breaking in). Reebok Classic Nylon in US 10 are too long by about 10mm, but I had to size up to get the width to fit me. I really wish New Balance would produce more of their minimalist shoes and the Minimus line in the US, including this 110 model. I've definitely noticed the US-made or US-assembled shoes are far superior. Can't go wrong by supporting domestic manufacturing too!

Great trail running shoe. I have been using the MT10's which are awesome; however, they don't offer much rock protection. This shoe is perfect. Has the same fit as the MT10 and I don't have to worry about stone bruises on some of the harsher trails. It also doesn't have the Nav band across the top so you don't get the irritation on your pinky toe like you sometimes do with the MT10. Thanks NB and Zappos...you rock!

I have mixed feelings about this shoe. I really loved them at first, the fit and feel of the shoes are spot on and the cleat like outsole is nearly perfect in my opinion. However, I ended up returning them after the thin, plasticky, upper ripped on my 3rd run in them.

Am a lover of the 5-fingers, which I use when am weightlifting and also running or jumping. But I needed something with just a little cushion for longer runs (2.5 miles and more). I have very wide feet, and was worried that these wouldn't be wide enough. They're a little snug, but they still fit. They do feel a little squishy (not sure I'll be happy lifting heavy in them). That might be partly the extra traction of the trail shoe. Also, I find that my feet tilt inward in these. I'm not really a pronator, so I think it's because my feet are a little wider than the base of the shoe, and so my feet hang off the inside edge a little. But they are still pretty comfortable, and so far I've been happy running and jumping rope in them. For someone with super-wide feet like mine, I'd probably say go with the non-trail Minimus (which I haven't tried yet).
