I wear a 6 wide, hard to find. Many other brands run narrow and don't even offer wide in small sizes. New Balance runs already full, and when I order the Wide it gives me the needed room. The fabric breathes enough for my sweaty feet to stay comfortable for hours on a hot court. I always insert my own orthotics (very high arches) into sneakers so that arch support combined with the good shoe construction gives both feet and ankles the stability I want. Pricey but you get what you pay for, and after I had a serious ankle strain 3 years ago I am not messing around with anything that doesn't offer optimal support and stability. My last pair were the previous NB equivalent style lasting 2 heavily used seasons and loved them.

This is a follow-up review. At first I really loved these shoes but after a few weeks of playing tennis in them I found one of the support straps that run from the sole to the laces presses into one of my foot bones. Also, the lack of stability and arch support caught up with me. Even with aftermarket insoles and thick socks, I can't wear them. Nice shoe but they didn't work for me. If you go with these shoes, order 1/2 size down.

Love the shoe. Doesn't slip off my heel but plenty of room in the toe box. Feels light on my feet but provides nice stability.

These have worked out well. I had found that after a bout with plantar fasciitis, the newer lightweight workout shoes weren't providing enough support for my feet. I've been wearing these for walking and working out and my feet are not aching anymore.

Width was fabulous, but because was so wide, the length/size was too big and I had to exchange them for a smaller size. Nice and lightweight. Very happy.

Beware of top toe box seam! I could feel it immediately on my big toes. Instead of sewing material on top of each other, sewn so that seam is perpendicular to top of shoe. My needs are wide, comfortable, breathable tennis shoe (play 2-3 times a week). I so wanted this shoe to work! However, after the first couple steps indoors and feeling the seam rub returning. Thank you Zappos for your great service because it's the only way I can try wide shoes.

I have small wide feet and high arches. I love New Balance tennis shoes because I can get a wide size. This is the second pair of this style that I have purchased. They are light weight and very comfortable. I would like better arch support, but I use an orthotic so it all works.

At first when I put them on I thought they were too small. I almost sent them back. However I put them against my old shoes and they were the same size. Once I loosened up the shoelaces they were quite comfortable. I am very happy with them and would buy another pair. They are perfect for summer tennis, the mesh is much cooler.

I originally bought this New Balance tennis shoe in a retail store. I liked it enough to order a 2nd pair through Zappos. New Balance is my tennis shoe of choice because their shoes come in wider sizes, which I need for a good fit.

Great looking shoe that is sized at least 1/2 size too short. What is wrong with New Balance in the last couple of years! Frankly, Zappos ought to consider dropping them due to their inconsistent (generally short) sizing -- it must cost Zappos a fortune in returns.

These New Balance shoes are absolutely terrific for playing tennis, especially in a warm climate, as they provide both ventilation through the mesh panels AND support. They are lightweight yet feel solid on my feet. I go through a lot of different court shoes, and these are my absolute favorite.

Brands I'd also recommend: If New Balance doesn't work for you, try K Swiss.

Love the shoe. Play tennis 3-4 times per week. Plenty of room for my orthotics. Love the New Balance shoes as the regular width accommodates my slightly wider foot nicely. My only comment is that the back is lower than the KSwiss that I switched from - no biggie; it just felt different at first but now I am used to it. Great support, great shoe!

Seems like a very comfortable shoe but it wasn't right for my feet. I have hammer toes and wear orthotics so I need a toe box that is deep (high) and wide. This was neither. Also, you should order a half to full size larger than normal. The mesh makes it a fairly light weight and breathable shoe. Since I never wore these shoes to play tennis, my ratings are solely based on walking around in the house.

I purchased these court shoes to play Pickleball here in The Villages, FL. Not only are the shoes comfortable and flexible, they look great, too! I cannot say enough good things about how well Zappos treats its customers! They are truly market savvy in every way and make each customer feel special.

I wear a 9 AA sho,e and those are hard to find. Thank goodness for New Balance, since most athletic shoe manufacturers ignore the fact that feet come in different widths, and that running around in a shoe that's too wide is not good for one's foot. Fortunately, they keep making this shoe, they just change the last number of the model periodically. This is my 4th pair. As has been true in the past, it runs one full size too small, though, so I know if I order a 10 AA I'll be fine. It's the only size 10 shoe I've ever had to buy. But the width is perfect.

No complaints whatsoever! These shoes have a remarkable fit (I'm a 7.5 B). Played a few hours of tennis today and my feet very comfortable in them. I've never had a shoe with so much room in the toe box, which is important to me. I would highly recommend these shoes to an active tennis player. What a great shoe!!

Brands I'd also recommend: None; I prefer New Balance to any other tennis shoe.

Runs short and had a spot that rubbed my foot right behind my little toe. Very lightweight with a shallow toebox that I had hoped would fit my 12 AA foot--alas, like so many New Balance shoes these days, it was short.

These shoes have been great after several practices and matches. I have a narrow foot and with an insert they have worked well. Good support and traction on the court.

Great sneaker, lightweight and comfortable. The mesh on the top and sides of the toe box allows ventilation. Great style, look and fit are reminiscent of a running shoe. I have very high arches and while these shoes don't have a ton of arch support, I haven't noticed it missing. They're comfortable and easy to move around with on the court. The shoes are a little wide but I have a slightly wide foot so it works perfectly for me (I ordered B width). Lots of padding around the heel. One thing, they are best worn with a cotton sock. If you are looking for a tennis sneaker with more overall structure, try the New Balance 804. I ordered both and while both fit well, I don't need two pairs of shoes so I opted for the feel of the 1005. Thanks New Balance and Zappos for selling 10.5...there are lots of us out there!

I tried them on & walked around the house with them & they felt great. So I decided to play tennis with them and found that my right foot, along the right side of my small toe, became sore. It was rubbing against the inside of the shoe as I played tennis. My feet are not wide at all so I don't understand why this happened, other than there was a defect during manufacturing. Since I wore them outside, I can't return them to Zappos. Money down the drain.
