Just got these and they are wonderful. Plenty of room in the toe box and lots of cushion. But the main reason I purchased this particular shoe is because I need stability - these certainly give it. I'm very happy with these and would buy them again. I went up 1/2 size from my normal shoe size, but I do tend to need to go up in any sneaker.

This is a follow-up review. At first I really loved these shoes but after a few weeks of playing tennis in them I found one of the support straps that run from the sole to the laces presses into one of my foot bones. Also, the lack of stability and arch support caught up with me. Even with aftermarket insoles and thick socks, I can't wear them. Nice shoe but they didn't work for me. If you go with these shoes, order 1/2 size down.

Very comfortable, no breaking in time. Daughter has narrow feet and fits fine. Third pair of new balance tennis shoes and very pleased!

I tried them on & walked around the house with them & they felt great. So I decided to play tennis with them and found that my right foot, along the right side of my small toe, became sore. It was rubbing against the inside of the shoe as I played tennis. My feet are not wide at all so I don't understand why this happened, other than there was a defect during manufacturing. Since I wore them outside, I can't return them to Zappos. Money down the drain.

These New Balance shoes are absolutely terrific for playing tennis, especially in a warm climate, as they provide both ventilation through the mesh panels AND support. They are lightweight yet feel solid on my feet. I go through a lot of different court shoes, and these are my absolute favorite.
Brands I'd also recommend: If New Balance doesn't work for you, try K Swiss.

I wear a 9 AA sho,e and those are hard to find. Thank goodness for New Balance, since most athletic shoe manufacturers ignore the fact that feet come in different widths, and that running around in a shoe that's too wide is not good for one's foot. Fortunately, they keep making this shoe, they just change the last number of the model periodically. This is my 4th pair. As has been true in the past, it runs one full size too small, though, so I know if I order a 10 AA I'll be fine. It's the only size 10 shoe I've ever had to buy. But the width is perfect.

No complaints whatsoever! These shoes have a remarkable fit (I'm a 7.5 B). Played a few hours of tennis today and my feet very comfortable in them. I've never had a shoe with so much room in the toe box, which is important to me. I would highly recommend these shoes to an active tennis player. What a great shoe!!
Brands I'd also recommend: None; I prefer New Balance to any other tennis shoe.

Great sneaker, lightweight and comfortable. The mesh on the top and sides of the toe box allows ventilation. Great style, look and fit are reminiscent of a running shoe. I have very high arches and while these shoes don't have a ton of arch support, I haven't noticed it missing. They're comfortable and easy to move around with on the court. The shoes are a little wide but I have a slightly wide foot so it works perfectly for me (I ordered B width). Lots of padding around the heel. One thing, they are best worn with a cotton sock. If you are looking for a tennis sneaker with more overall structure, try the New Balance 804. I ordered both and while both fit well, I don't need two pairs of shoes so I opted for the feel of the 1005. Thanks New Balance and Zappos for selling 10.5...there are lots of us out there!

These are my favorite tennis shoes. I always go up a half size when I buy New Balance.

Seems like a very comfortable shoe but it wasn't right for my feet. I have hammer toes and wear orthotics so I need a toe box that is deep (high) and wide. This was neither. Also, you should order a half to full size larger than normal. The mesh makes it a fairly light weight and breathable shoe. Since I never wore these shoes to play tennis, my ratings are solely based on walking around in the house.

These shoes have been great after several practices and matches. I have a narrow foot and with an insert they have worked well. Good support and traction on the court.

Runs short and had a spot that rubbed my foot right behind my little toe. Very lightweight with a shallow toebox that I had hoped would fit my 12 AA foot--alas, like so many New Balance shoes these days, it was short.

Great looking shoe that is sized at least 1/2 size too short. What is wrong with New Balance in the last couple of years! Frankly, Zappos ought to consider dropping them due to their inconsistent (generally short) sizing -- it must cost Zappos a fortune in returns.
