We just bought size 6, because my son grew out of the size 5, and these were on sale. He loves them. He chose these for their style. They really are waterproof, and the ones he grew out of still perfectly good, even though he's typical active 8-year-old guy. Gave old ones to a pal with smaller feet.

They looked great, and Teva is a great name...but the shoes did not hold up well at all. The stitching around the toe of the shoe has ripped and separated after normal wear by a normal 6 year old after 3 months of school and play.

Since my child is between sizing, thought I'd give this brand a try. I usually purchase Keens, but the sizing seems to bump up a notch over when you jump up from toddler to youth sizing. Seems durable, affordable and long lasting.

Brands I'd also recommend: Keens

The lace lock broke after a couple of months. Then the laces tore. Had to put new laces on one shoe. The shoe is very waterproof, and good for playing in rainy weather.

These are pretty much what I was looking for. I wanted waterproof shoes, and I have not tested them extensively, but I have gotten splashed and stayed dry. I do wish they they were a little more breathable, but it is an all right trade-off for being waterproof. I love that they are slip-on, but fit reasonably snugly, and that I can wear them on casual hikes, as well as when I work outside (often in wet conditions). They are mostly comfortable, though I would like more cushion in the sole. I solved that by adding an insole. Overall, I am happy with the shoes.

The rubber that covers the toes of the shoes is thin and delicate. Within a week, the rubber was worn through by my active son, revealing white, fuzzy material underneath. Not sure if this affects waterproofing--but it looks terrible!

Bought for my 10 year old daughter for a hiking trip and they were comfortable and sporty-looking, not clunky. She loved that they were waterproof vs. water-resistant and she was able to tromp through snow and muddy puddles with no problem. Like other Teva shoes, this one runs small so size up one full size. And my daughter has slender feet so she can wear Tevas whereas my other kids cannot (they had Keens instead).

Love these shoes. My son is six and he helped me pick out this pair from your wonderful selection. The shoes are rugged enough to handle icy conditions and light enough that he can wear all day in school. We are quite pleased with these shoes. Be aware though, you will have to order a size up. He wears a size 2 but had to order a 3. I learned this from another review.

Very sturdy we'll made shoe. Love the style and look of the shoe. It is a Christmas present so it hasn't been used yet. Have had many many other Teva shoes before. They never disappoint.

They're so small! Last year, the kiddo wore a Little Kid 13 in these shoes, and we wanted to replace them for this year. His Nike sneakers are 1, his cleats are 1.5 (both with room to spare), so I ordered a 1 and 2 in the Raith. He couldn't get his foot into the 1 and he was right at the end of the 2. We had to re-order a size 3 before we finally found a pair that fit!

My son trashes everything. Ordered this as a test as we had other Tevas and they were holding up relatively good. This is a perfect shoe for a rambunctious young man. Very durable. kid

I bought these shoes for a 5 year old who doesn't want to miss a mud puddle on his way to school. These are perfect. They keep his feet dry, are easy to clean, and look great.

Bought these for my 4 year old. He likes the fit, thought the heel is a bit stiff for the first few wearings. It took 3 to 4 tries for him to get used to the bungee closure. They seem rugged and a good winter shoe for our slushier clime. However, the first pair we got lasted 2 wearings. When my son went to put them on the third day the upper left speed lace/metal eyelet pulled completely out of the shoe. Zappos replaced them right away and there aren't other reports of it happening, but definitely worth noting.

These are good shoes. I wear them now whenever I go hiking or want waterproof shoes. They are decently waterproof (stepping in streams, working around water), easy to slip on and off, and pretty comfortable. My only complaints are that I wish they had more cushioning (but I added an insert for that) and I wish they were more breathable, but I guess that is hard to get with waterproofing. I am happy with them overall!

I bought this shoe for my 5 year old but I am returning it. He wears a size 1 little kid in most shoes. However, the size 1 in this shoe was just a bit too tight. Also, the cord to tighten the shoe was much thinner than a Keen shoe & the clasp was difficult for me to use to tighten, let alone a 5 year old. Otherwise looked like a sturdy, water-proof shoe that might work better for a 7 or 8 year old.

Liked the look of these shoes. Similar to the HiTech Palo Altos that I had previously bought my son. Unfortunately these run very small - the size 4 was the same size as his 2.5 HiTechs. And they are also much heavier and rigid than the Palo Altos. My son complained they were too hard and he did not like them at all.

For at least four years my son wore the Teva Riva. When that shoe was discontinued we switched to the Raith, which appeared comparable. And it was, in all ways except durability. The first pair separated from the sole at the front within a month, which I thought must be a fluke as the Rivas were indestructible. The replacement pair made it to three months before falling apart. We are now trying the Charge, which after three months is doing well. We've been brand loyal because my son has narrow feet and Teva sizes fit better than other brands.
