Update after cross fit workout: These shoes seem to work pretty well. I was able to jump rope and do burpees pretty easily because of the fact that these shoes are so light and minimal. Burpees get extremely tiring, especially with thicker shoes. The thicker the sole the higher you have to pop up to get your feet under you. So doing them barefoot you only have to clear your feet, and these shoes are the next best thing after being barefoot. I also felt like I did not have to jump very high to clear the jump rope, so I could do it pretty fast and low. Climbing rope, I am pretty new at this, but these shoes did do really well. I was able to squeeze the rope in between the bottom of one shoe and the top of the other and it held very tight. I also do the method of squeezing the arches of my feet together (with the rope in the middle) and they seemed to squeeze okay. But they work better with the first method. When you look at the pictures of the rubber material on top of the shoe it looks like it might be thin and weak, but seeing it in person, it looks thick and strong.

I bought these shoes in early February or late January. I slowly increased wear time over a few weeks. I then wore these shoes in the Open. I ended up with a stress fractures in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th metatarsal heads. This is exactly the spot of the "metaflex" on the sole. I do not recommend these shoes. I do not give them any stars.

I really like these shoes for CrossFitting. I've used a number of shoes, and I think these are working the best. I wear a 10 1/2 in Chuck Taylors but bought a full size up after seeing some reviews. The 11 1/2 size I bought are perfect. They arrived quickly, and I have zero complaints with my transaction. If you CrossFit, I recommend these. I've also done some running in them, and since I'm already used to the Pose method of running, these worked well. On longer runs, 5 or more miles or harsh off road terrain, you might go with a shoe with some more padding in the front sole to protect against sharp rocks bruising your sole, but otherwise these work perfect for me.

Brands I'd also recommend: Merrill

I've been looking at these shoes for about a month. I just started Crossfit a few weeks ago and the trainers at my gym wear them and swear by them. I was torn between these and Nike frees. After hearing and seeing all the great reviews about the product I figured I would make the plunge. I'm glad I did. I usually wear a 6.5 in Nike (women) and so I got the 6.5 womans/UK 4 - which fit great width and length. I read mixed reviews on sizing - some sites said go up and others said go down .5 size but I'm very pleased with how they fit. Perfect for Crossfit and I won't have to change shoes during workouts. Anybody on the fence about these shoes should definitely go for it. You will not be disappointed! I have really started to like the minimal shoes not just in Crossfit but at work as well where I'm on my feet quite a bit.

I have wide feet so I was worried these will run narrow on me, but they do not, they fit like a glove and are really comfortable. For reference, I wear a brooks adrenline US 10.5 2E. These shoes in 10.5 are perfect.

I love my new 210's! I have had them about a month now and they are everything I had hoped. Great for X-Fitting! The No-Rise heel might take some getting used to, if you haven't owned a pair before. Overall, very satisfied!

My third pair of inov-8's, first of the XF model. Fits more snugly than the 230's (I own two pairs), and feels a little shorter due to the toe box curling up slightly. Like the 230, a great shoe for CrossFit. The sole is flatter and thinner than the 230, with some stickiness to it. This is great and noticeable in a good way for jumping. They work well for rope climbing without shredding the sole.

Just got these yesterday. Feet hurt a bit while getting used to them, and you can really feel the lack of cushioning in high impact motions, like box jumps. That said, one workout in I completely forgot I was wearing them. The wide toebox keeps you from feeling restricted under heavy loads, and the traction is incredible. I wouldn't run much more than a 400 in them, but for WODs in the gym, they're going to be fantastic. They practically climb a rope for you, too; the plastic guard sheets have so much grip.

I have tried various barefoot shoes over the last few years (Nike Free, New Balance MT-10, Minimus Life, VFF KSO, and Merrell Sonic Glove) and have found that the Vibrams provided to best feedback to the ground when doing any kind of athletic activity. That was until I purchased the 210s. I have heard great things about Inov-8 as far as having similar characteristics to the VFF and can confirm that these are the best barefoot trainers available. I am a strength trainer and frequently perform both the power lifts and Olympic lifts while wearing these shoes. The durability and protection these shoes provide is unlike any other shoes. The thick rubbery overlays protect and support both the medial and lateral sides of the mid foot and provide a nice solid ground feel when dead lifting, squatting, lunging, jumping, sprinting, and walking. While these shoes were designed for xfit, they can be used for any athletic purpose. I am very happy with this purchase and look forward to continuously putting the hurt on these bad boys. In the wise words of Mark Rippetoe, "Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general." Enjoy these shoes!

These shoes do not run small. For reference I wear a 10 in Vans and a 10.5 in pretty much all Nike shoes. I ordered this shoe in a 10.5 and it fits great. I do like having a bit of extra room in my toe area for my gym shoes. I could probably also squeeze into a 10 in this shoe, but it would be uncomfortable after 100 jump ropes or a few sprints. I have flat feet, so I like shoes that are flat and do not have a high arch. These shoes are close to vibrams in the sense that you are barely walking on anything with no arch support. I will do my first cross fit workout with these shoes tomorrow, I will update on how well they work. I will make sure to get a rope climb in as well.

I went a half size up like people said and they are too big. These shoes are true to their size. If you wear a 8.5, get an 8.5! Other than that these shoes are awesome! Excellent for crossfit. I will be buying another pair when these are worn.

I am in Afghanistan where things usually take at least 14 days to get here. It took only 7 days to get these shoes! That was impressive to say the least. This is my first pair of minimalists and my first pair of inov. I use them to weight lift and then I go straight into insanity for my cardio. They allow me to be so much more balanced and I feel that each exercise that I do is much more natural. The shoes seem very high quality and are holding up well over here in the desert! I will be buying another pair when these are worn out!

I am very happy with these and cannot wait to wear them to tomorrow's WOD. They are much better than the Reebok Nano I ordered from Reebok and sent back the same day. These shoes look good, are well made, and connect me firmly to the floor. They are very light and flat. They do feel a bit narrow, but I have got narrow-ish feet. Score!

These shoes shipped fast and Zappos policy was great -- my reason for choosing them to get these shoes. The Bare-XF is an excellent choice for acclimated barefoot CrossFitter. I do everything in these shoes, from WOD work, to Oly lifting, and even much of my running. I strongly recommend that you ease into running with this shoes. I ran a half-marathon within a week of getting these, coming off Nike Free 3.0s; felt good, but it did shock the feet a bit.

I currently have a pair of the F-lite 230s that I use for CrossFit and decided to try these since the others got sort of ripped up during rope climbs. I absolutely love these Bare-XF 210s. These do run a half size (at least) large. I normally wear size 12 - 12.5. My f-lites are 12s and I have a lot of room in them. I purchased these in 11.5 and they fit perfectly. I definitely feel the ground a bit more as there's virtually no cushioning (which is the point, I know, but it takes a second to get used to). I've had to focus more on a mid-foot strike while doing sprints. I've been on a slow migration toward more and more minimal shoes and I love these. I highly recommend them.

Great shoe. Good quality. Bottoms are slick so they are not great for kettle bells or balance moves in a gym. I bought them to wear for workiouts. I use them mostly to knock around in. No socks required and no blisters.

I switched to these shoes after wearing VFF's for almost a year. It's not quite the same feeling, but pretty close. The toe pocket feels wider than most shoes, so there's still some room to move around. The mid and heal of the shoe fit snug. Would definitely buy a second pair of these.

I've used f-lite 195s and loved them, but these are just plain better for CrossFit. They meet my number one criteria which is not noticing they are there. Running is good, box jumps are no problem, and they are great for oly lifting. Getting the black means they'll pretty much last forever.

The only thing I want to comment on is the sizing. Originally, purchased the 11s (US) but, thought they might be a little small. I normally, wear a size 11 (US), and because some running shops suggest buying a half size to a full size up, I returned the 11's for 11.5's. The 11.5's were uncomfortably too large. I don't know if it's because of the whole bare foot running aspect, but I've gone back to the 11's, and they're much more comfortable than the 11.5s.

These are great shoes: extremely light and a true minimalist shoe. The sole is flat, making it perfect for squat exercises. They're not really built for those with wider feet or high arches, but the overall shoe is a great design.

I always wore Vibrams for my CrossFit workouts but I recently purchased the 210s. I am more than pleased with their feel and durability. I still get the bare foot feel that I love but for me the level of comfort surpasses Vibrams. Having done several WODs in both shoe I can say that the 210s are my pick hands down.

Superb shoes for CrossFit. I will admit that I have not rope climbed or box jumped in them. But after 2 weeks I am convinced they are great. Fellow CrossFitters know the significance of my saying, "These are the first shoes in which I actually came close to enjoying performing burpees." Seriously! The zero drop and sticky sole of the shoe make it made for burpees. Terrific looking and fits true to size. It feels narrow at first, but lacing it up looser helps solve the problem. Great shoe and Zappos was awesome as usual. Try it and you will be happy!

The first workout I did in these was a 5RM Deadlift, followed by a conditioning workout consisting of Rope Climbs, Wall Balls, and 200m runs. These worked great for all of it! A bit of a change from my 230s and 195s as far as cushioning. I would recommend the individual having some training in Pose running before wearing these for distance. Overall another great shoe by Inov-8.
