Shoes fit true to size. Still only a few weeks old at this time but they feel awesome. I would recommend these. They get a little sloppy in the heel when pulling or squatting heavy (over 500). I have other shoes that I use for that (Asics Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66).

The 2013 version of the Inov-8 Terrafly is my favorite running shoe ever (the blue one.) Light, comfortable, nice for running, or to wear as a casual daily shoe. Unfortunately, the new version (purple), although it has a lot in common and looks good, feels uncomfortable due to the meta flex being or feeling more pronounced (I can feel it while running, so I had to send it back, and look for the 2013 version again.)

I was looking for a shoe for Insanity and found it. The fit is excellent, similar to the old Inov-8 parkour shoes that fit like a glove. The sole has a 38 inch outrigger on the outside of the ball of the shoe that provides more support for lateral movement. The cushion is thinner, but I use a padded mat for my workouts, so its adequate for my 6' 2" 205# frame. The laces stay tied as well during workouts, which may not sound like a big deal, but I've had other Inov-8 shoes that would loosen easily. Overall a great shoe.

I love these. Amazing comfort, great style, I walk a lot all over Manhattan and these are just perfect. Fit like a glove but with enough support. Can say enough about them. Thanks Inov-8!

I really really like these shoes. In addition to the fact that they are the best looking athletic shoes i've seen in a very long time, they are very comfortable, and they have served me well for the past month's worth of workouts. I've done some lifting in them and they've provided good stability. I was forced to run on concrete/asphalt and they felt good even with the minimum coushin they provide.

This is an incredible all around trainer. Very light, surprisingly stable for borderline minimalistic shoe and great ventilation. I will get a lot of use out of these!!

First off, I agree Zappos shipping is amazing. I ordered these on a Sunday and got them two days later though I am sure this varies depending on where you are (I am in North Carolina). Here is my take on the shoe. I work for a large outdoor retailer and we care many brands and styles, but not Inov-8. I have tried on tons of pairs through my work to find that perfect fit or as perfect as it can come and I tell you nothing compares to the designs of this brand. I went to a local store who carries them as I had customers coming in and raving about their shoes so I had to experience it for myself. Sure enough every size 10 felt like a size 10 and felt like the way I wanted my shoes to feel. As for the Terrafly, I have been mildly obsessing over the brands website to determine what I wanted to get first as an everyday shoe this seemed like the most reasonable. Granted I am a 'beginner' runner and as a person who also sales running shoes recognize that these are not really designed for general everyday causal wear so I am sure the tread will wear out faster than just using it as a road to trail shoe. The rock climbing rubber instantly gives you that sensation of security on top of the already stable tread pattern. I took them on a 2 mile road 2.5 mile trail run and verdict is that the 6 MM sole is just enough protection but thin enough for you to experience the ground. I have fivefingers and for gravel especially they didn't cut it for me. I wear those now mostly for work, gym, and sometimes road running. Now the trails I run on are not very loose or very challenging in my opinion so I can not speak for say people in western US, but if you have local relatively groomed off road running trails these are awesome. I did, however, feel from a road running standpoint the tread slowed me down more than a expected and would say to those looking for an Inov-8 shoe to just road run to look at their true road runners. I did a 4 star on comfort and said they are narrower than the other 2 Inov-8 I tried on in a store (F-195 and Roclite 295). While they are on an anatomical cut (which truly makes an awesome shoe if you can wear it)...the Terrafly is slightly narrower for my pinky and second toes; however, it is compensated for the soft stretchy toe guard rubber. I am sure it will break in over time. Best trail runners I have owned. The Metaflex design for the forefoot always for you to really push off with...well your forefoot allowing you that sought out minimalist feel, but if you do heel strike this shoe still has you covered as I tried running variety of different postures. I will stress that if you really are more than a D Width this is not a shoe for you even if you do the whole going up in sizes to compensate for width. I just don't see that working it from the design of this shoe, but that is me everyone's feet are different. Long story short after this book of review...really just as Inov-8's website says in a nutshell if you are looking for that shoe to get you from the road to the trail and back, this is for you. My opinion, if you want strictly a road runner or strictly a trail running you probably want to consider over styles. Makes a good everyday shoe/hanging out shoe, but again keep in mind the outsole will probably not last as long as expected. And the blue is really blue.

This review should really be viewed as a first impression since I just started running in them. My bias is towards minimal-style running shoes and Innov8 in particular. I got these after having much positive experience with other Innov8 models and wanting to find a pair in their lineup that emphasizes longer distances. So here are the impressions thus far: very well made upper and comfortable fit. Not positive that I'd feel comfortable on really long runs in these yet. I've done 6-7 mile runs in them so far to get used to them. These are not true Zero Drop but my calves wouldn't know any different. So far good if not excellent.

I like Inov-8 shoes, but lately it has been hit and miss. The meta-flex in some models derive in a very pronounced trench in the front of the shoe, that is very uncomfortable for running. I don't have the same problem with the 2012 Terrafly model (the light blue one). I have experienced this same problem with other Inov-8 shoes with the meta flex. In two occasions, the problem was solved with a shoe replacement (hard to say whether there was a different sole production.)
