After what seems to be an endless search for shoes that I can run in, without hurting myself, I have finally found them! Having had five surgeries on my left knee, including ACL reconstruction, it has been difficult to find one set of shoes that can do the job. These do. I was diagnosed as being an over-pronator at a running store. As it turns out, my left side is an over-pronator, my right side is neutral. These shoes offer great support and, you can't even tell you are wearing them most of the time. I will more than likely be purchasing another pair in the near future!

These shoes are terrible. I am very disappointed, as there were so many positive reviews. I am a larger man, 245lbs at 6'4, and had previously ran with the Asics Nimbus, which I liked. I decided to try Saucony at the urging of others, and this model seemed a good try. Wrong. 3 miles and I have a blister on my upper heel from rubbing, wearing the same low socks I had worn with my Asics without having rub. There is little cushioning, to the point where these feel like running in flip flops. I would return them if I hadn't cut the laces already.

Fantastic shoe! It relieved my arch pain allowing me to train properly for my half marathon. They are light and provide good airflow as well. Highly recommend!

I am new to running, but owned Saucony shoes prior for just general tennis shoes. I was deciding between these (8mm offset), the standard 12mm offset shoe (Ride 4 I think), and the Kinvara (4mm) offset. After ordering all three, I settled on these. I really like the feel while running...it's less of a heel toe motion. It didn't take any adjustment or adaption. I had run for about 2-3 weeks on my original 12mm offset Saucony's. The Kinvara where really light, but they just didn't seem to have the same level of comfort (ie cushion)...you can't have everything. I have always had bad ITB issues. These 8mm offset shoes seemed to help. Not sure if there is any fact to it, but the lower offset does make you lean slightly more forward when running, and promotes a more midfoot strike...maybe that has something to do with the noticeable improvement in ITB pain I experienced when I switched to these shoes. Zappos is obviously wonderful to buy shoes from, so no need to review them. I would definitely buy these again, and in general have felt the Saucony brand shoes were well made.

Doesn't even make sense. Extremely light and provides as much stability as just about any other shoe I've tried. Not only that, but it has amazing cushioning in the forefoot and heel (you can confirm all this with multiple professional reviews). Makes me wonder why other brands aren't like this. The only problem I can think of that this might pose is limited durability due to the lighter materials, but I'm at 252 miles with mine and I've seen no signs of wear. They even look like I've only had them for a week. In many updates for other brands and models, you'll see almost no difference between the new and previous models; however, the Guide 4 to Guide 5 is like night and day. They've improved on pretty much every single aspect of this shoe. Why hasn't anyone else thought of that?

Great looking shoe! Works well with jeans. Tired of the same old style shoe and decided to add some color. Glad I did! Comfortable right out of the box. Fit true to size.

First things first, if you're hoping the color of these shoes is reflective, rest assured they are. I actually purchased these sneakers after wearing out my first few pairs of Progrids. Generally, these sneakers are as comfortable, supportive and properly snug compared to the previous versions. However, I got the worst kind of blisters on my heel each of the first times I walked or ran in these things which never happened with the previous versions. I did read that this Progrid is updated and has slightly changed the height of the shoe among some other tweaks which could be the cause. Either way, I have been wearing these for weight training to try and break them in some more and mold to my foot which appears to be helping on the blister issue which could very well be a very individual issue here. Overall, very comfortable sneaker.

These shoes are very comfortable and very light. They are a tad tight at the toes but this is the first day that I am wearing them. I feel as though I do not need to use any foam or gel inserts. If they made these in all black I would wear them to work. I am not a runner so I cannot comment on that. They have a reflective material on the back of the heel. I bought the black and yellow model. The style is nice for casual. I probably cannot go to work in them. Some very slight issues include that they are little on the narrow side at the little toe area. The big toe is fine. They are only slightly too narrow, I am not sending the shoes back. They adds a little too much height, about an inch. I do not feel unstable in them but I do not like high shoes. The colors are pretty wild. Every shoe maker should make an all black shoe in every style. Overall I highly recommend these, they are worth the price. I might never buy another Nike again!

So is it weird that I actually want to go running right now? These things feel great! They make a big deal about this 8mm offset. I agree it is kind of different. Like you have more control. Like you are a kid running while playing Army or something. Definitely a shoe you'd want if fleeing zombies. Currently running 3 miles at a pace of about 10:00. Thank you Couch to 5K!

Brands I'd also recommend: I like Sketchers for work. This is my first "TRUE" athletic shoe, however I generally like Reebok's

What an excellent running shoe! I run between 15 and 30 miles per week, and this shoe continues to perform. It's light, supportive, helped my knee pain vanish, looks great, and never seems to get dirty. I've never worn Saucony shoes before, but I've become a huge fan! Highly recommended, I wear these everywhere.

I have a pair of Saucony Hurricane 12 since before and felt that I wanted a lighter, "faster" pair of shoes as well. The Guide 5 is everything I hoped for. A perfect "next step" shoe that is lighter, faster but still have good cushioning. I prefer these before my Hurricanes every day of the week. Next stop is the Kinvara 3.

These are the best shoes I have ever owned. I have pronation issues when I run and these seem to have solved that problem. Right out of the box I ran 5 miles in them without blisters or aches. I was having pain to my inner knees and my ankles on long runs and these shoes have taken care of that. I am going to buy at least 2 more pairs of these before they change something on them. I would recommend these to anybody who is an avid runner because, in my opinion, there isn't a better shoe available.

I bought these Guide 5s instead of my usual Asics because Asics decided to narrow their toe box on their shoes, making them too tight for me. These are my first Saucony running shoes and they have been great. The lower heel angle took some getting used to because it encourages more of a mid-foot strike instead of heel first. The cushioning is supportive (amazing how light the shoes are given the good support). My only caution is that they take a week or two of breaking in and getting a good fit so the sole does not slide on the somewhat slippery cushion pillow underneath the sole. The blue/citron color I got turns a lot of heads.

Got these at a running store and them diagnosing me with some level of pronation. They are by far the most comfortable running shoes I have ever owned. Been running in them, they haven't kicked back up my plantars which is great and they are a lower heel than the other shoes I've had or tried on. I want to grab another pair just for kicking around but am not positive that the offset stuff is consistent for the model or if that is special.

Definitely a lite shoe, but I would go ahead and ignore everyone telling you to buy a half-size up. I'm sending back this 12.5 and getting my usual 12, but probably an entirely different shoe. Mesh is really soft and I doubt it would stand the test of much trail running without picking up a few stickers here and there. Very comfortable inside and felt good walking around the room in them. As I'm sending them back right away, I didn't get a full run in to truly test them. Overall, it's a nice shoe, but I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be. Heading over to Brooks to see what they have to offer.

I'm a moderate distance runner, 6-8 mile average runs about 3-4 times a week. This shoes have been great since I've gotten them, have held up well and look great. The fit is excellent as well as construction and materials. I bought this shoe after running and suffering from knee and hip pain from another brand. I had gone to a running shoe store and they fitted me for this shoe, but didn't have the color I wanted in my size, but Zappos did! I would definitely buy this shoe again and will be looking to Saucony and Zappos when I need my next pair.
