I have wide feet and a men's size feels better to me with thick woolen socks. These are comfortable to work in all day. The leather is nice and soft and thick. It's a good, plain, sturdy boot and you won't get shocked when unloading the clothes dryer due to the insulating Doc Marten soles.

Most of the reviews indicated that size of this boot runs big. I found the exat opposite. I wear a 12 - 13, depending on the brand, and this felt small to me for a men's US 13. This boot was very plain looking.

Bought these 2.5 years ago. The quality is OK for the price tag. They're definitely nice boots. Not so comfortable, though, they hurt my feet super bad, but a cheap pair of insoles later and I'm running smooth. The first thing that happened: the tabs on the back appear to be more for aesthetics than anything, they both tore off fairly easily. The stitching and everything was strong enough, heavy usage in one of the snowiest cities in the US they've proven themselves well. I'm in the market for new boots (looking at Red Wing, Wolverine, or Chippewa) as I wish these were a bit better made. After 2.5 years they're disintegrating. The heels are separating from the soles on both feet, the stitching is coming apart, letting water in, and the treads have gone dangerously smooth, I'd be safer in bare feet on the ice than in these things. Great boots, amazing look, but don't expect them to last as well as some of the classic US made brands out there.

Brands I'd also recommend: Red Wings, Chippewa, Wolverine

Although I've yet to experience these boots through winter conditions from what I've noticed so far they are comfortable, practical and above all, stylish. As a boot enthusiast, I would highly recommend them. Only downside I can think of is that they're a bit heavier than I've previous been used to. Other than that, I was only confused with the name; I thought Caligula was the only Roman Emperor named after boots...

I'm 8.5(US) with pretty wide soles. Usually I just get a size 9(US) and they seem to do the job. I wasn't really sure about the size of these Dr. Martens, so I actually ordered both a size 8(US) and a size 9(US) to keep which ever fits. Turns out the size 9 was ridiculously large (length and width) so I ended up keeping the size 8. It did take some painful time to loosen the front part out mainly due to my wide soles but after about 2 weeks they feel pretty good. Fit aside, the boot looks great and the leather is soft and pleasant.

Classic boot. Dress it up or down. Great boot at a great price! Quality you'd expect from the good Doctor along with the excellent customer service of Zappos. Been ordering from this site for 7 years and have yet to be disappointed. Thanks Zappos.

I always take a US 9 and this one was more like 8.5 Very tight on the Heel and in the foot length very tight with just a thin sock....If you normally get 9 US you definitely need a 10...I had to re order for 10 as the 9 was just too small.

I knew that finding the correct size with Dr. Martens might pose a challenge, so I based sizing on a pair that I own currently. I wear a 9.5 in practically all shoes and based on Dr. Marten website sizing chart, I purchased the UK 9. It was enormous! Not only was the shoe too long, it was also incredibly wide. I love the look of the shoe and it appeared to be solidly constructed, but didn't bother to purchase the size down assuming it would also be a poor fit.

I really wanted to love these boots because the style and construction is great. However, the US 9 (my usual size) was just too large, and the US 8 was just too small. Seemingly no arch support whatsoever, and just a bit narrow for my feet. Overall, I'm just very disappointed in the fit.
