Like all running shoes, I ordered a 1/2 size up, and it fit fine, except it's a bit too narrow in the toe box. It's a shame since it is very comfortable everywhere else and seems like a great shoe.

Love these shoes for dry days, but they are really slippery on wet pavement! So much so that I can feel my toe slipping with every push off. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so we do have a lot of wet days! I'm going to keep them, but I need a different pair of runners for the wet days.

Love these shoes! They are great support and comfortable like all Brooks shoes. I am actually using these for golf! Couldn't find golf shoes that didn't hurt my feet. Since I love Brooks, thought I'd give these a try. The nubs on the bottom are enough traction for playing golf. I get the arch support my feet need. And they are much cooler for hot weather than the regular leather golf shoes. Love them!

These are the best hiking/trail running shoes. They have excellent grip for the steepest hills both going up and coming down. My husband has the men's version and loves them too.

I love these shoes. I have very hard-to-fit feet. I have a wide forefoot, narrow heel, high arch and high instep. Also one of my big toes does this strange thing and turns in at the end of a step. I used to wear Nike Free 5.0 but they are no longer available and I can't wear shoes with the tongue attached due to my high instep. These are perfect for me -- I had to cut off the elastic band that goes around the top as it was very tight for a high instep. Other than that, these are great. I wear a 7 in street shoes, an 8 in Nikes, and a 7.5 in Puregrit. I have found them comfortable to run on pavement.

Loved these shoes for my 50 mile race. Comfortable and wide enough for my wide feet. To provide some extra space, I will go up a half size with my next pair.

What an awesome looking shoe. I got mine in the red/tan colors. The shoe is lightweight, super comfortable and well made. Despite this, I had to send mine back because the elastic on the instep squeezed my foot and became uncomfortable after a while. I tried them for a few hours and got worse. Granted, I have a high instep so this might not be a problem for others. If this shoe came in wide, it might help people like me. Brooks, if you read your product reviews, please make the PureGrit in wide!

I like the comfort and style of these shoes, but I prefer the slimmer lines of the PureConnect line of Brooks shoes. Good arch support and comfort = a winner! I've had many compliments on the color combo for this particular pair.

Great light weight and comfy running shoe. Described as developed for primarily trail runs...I have only run on the road with them so far and they feel really good. They are very comfortable and extremely light weight; colors are great too. Find myself wearing them to run weekend mornings and then leaving them on all day because they are so comfy. I have a narrow foot; my foot does not slip around in them as much as some other brands I have worn. Definitely recommend!

This is supposed to be a minimalist running shoe and is probably great for serious running if you are in the 120 lb weight category. Very comfy and for me perfect fit; however, it does not have the support of my primary running shoe which has been the Brooks Adrenaline GTS for the past two years. I run 2 to three days per week for a total of 25 miles per week. I do not feel the Pure Grit has the cushioning or longevity for distance running -- but for walking it is excellent and being super light excellent for packing purposes. The shoe does have a snug, although comfy fit. I wear socks with them. Am very pleased with the shoe and as always appreciate the quick shipping and size availability at Zappos. I first saw the Shoe at REI but they do not carry above size 11 and I needed 11.5. I can always rely on Zappos to have the shoe I want!

I usually wear a 9.5 in Brooks and the same is true in this style. This may be the most comfortable sneaker I've ever worn. I have a wide forefoot and narrower heel, and these fit like a dream. Cushioning and arch support are excellent (I'm an underpronator and both stability and cushioning are perfect). Very slippery on wet pavement/ground (although the new generation of PureGrit has solved this problem, I'm told), but otherwise no slippage at all when it's dry. Love them.

I love this shoe. Have had it for 6 months now and feel it fits like a glove. I do have a narrow foot and have a hard time finding shoes. I wear an 8 1/2 or 9 and the 9 was just right. Still have some room in the toe box for those with medium feet. I wear them to Zumba and in the gym.

I bought these shoes for work, I am a CRNA, as I am on my feet 10-11 hours a day. I have a high arch so the first thing I did was cut off the elastic band over the tongue of the shoe. They are quiet when you walk, the cushioned sole is great. I love the color, not wild and doesn't show dirt.

Excellent trail runners. They seem a smidge narrower than normal Brooks but I have a narrow foot so they work great.

Love this running shoe! It gives just enough support in the right places and lets me run with a mid sole strike. It gets more comfortable as you break it in.

These shoes are very comfortable right out of the box. Just got them today and went for a 5 mile walk on pavement...very comfy. I think Brooks is my new favorite. They are a bit narrower than Nike and Asics which is great for me. They fit like a glove. I ordered a half size up and they are perfect.

Brands I'd also recommend: Asics and Nike if your feet are normal width

I really like them. They provide enough cushioning to protect your feet from the trails while not letting you forget you're on them. My feet slide more in them than I expected, so I need to tighten them more than I normally tighten shoes. There is very little side-to-side stability, so it'd be easy to turn an ankle if you are prone to doing so. Other than sore heels from having less cushioning than usual, I haven't had any other problems with adjusting to them.

These may be my new favorite shoes! They are gorgeous and felt fabulous from the first moment - almost like stepping on pillows (especially in the heels). I have a wide foot and often have trouble with my big toe hitting wrong in athletic shoes - but not these! You don't really feel the split toe, but it's kind of cool. I usually wear an 8.5 but read reviews and ordered a 9 - they are perfect! Buy these - you won't be disappointed.

I love this shoe. It would be perfect if it had better mid-foot cushioning. I can feel the rocks underfoot when I'm running on our groomed trail. It's especially painful because I'm a mid-foot strike runner.

I love Brooks. I keep coming back! I think Nike, Asics are just the name brands but Brooks are made for a real runner! I really liked these shoes but after a few weeks my heels started to hurt. If you are on your feet all day like me, I don't recommend these shoes other than that these are nice. They're made for narrow feet like mine.

Loved, loved, loved the look of these. Very stylish and great color combo with the violet and blue. Unfortunately, even though I do not wear a wide size, these were too tight across the top of the foot and were pinching after just a few minutes of trying them on. :( Had to send them back.

I found the PureGrit when looking to replace a well-worn pair of brown Cascadia 5s. The "Nav Band" squeezed my midfoot too much so I carefully cut it out with great results. I always get a full size up in order to accommodate my orthotics; however, this shoe is not quite as deep as the Cascadia, causing my foot to feel less secure than I would like. Wouldn't be a problem with the provided insole. Laces are a little slippery too, despite being the "bumpy" kind. Despite these issues, it's still a great looking, lightweight, comfy shoe.

This brand just doesn't fit my foot correctly. Tried in a couple of different sizes and styles. Extremely light weight. Great for the correct foot. For those of you whose 2nd toe is longer than big toe, it hits on the side.

There is an elastic band over the top of the foot just below where the laces tie. The shoe was comfortable in every other way but the band squeezed my foot.
