The arch support took a couple days to get accustomed to, but afterwards, my feet felt great. My only issue is the pilling occurring in the fabric under the front of the foot. It's been less than a month, and I already feel the difference in the fabric. Not sure how it's going to feel (or look) like in a year, especially since they recommend you don't wash!

It takes a little getting used to. But they are very supportive. This brand has helped soothe the sudden ache in my arch that I had a month ago. The only thing is that it fits a little bigger than I'd want. I wonder if a size smaller would have been better to accommodate the eventual settling of the material.

I started out really liking these slippers. I have a high arch/instep and was thrilled with the great support. However, after wearing them for a while, they now make my feet roll to the outsides, and have caused me to lose my balance several times. Do not get these unless you really have a pronation issue. I don't and these slippers, while great arch support, have caused me problems.

I love orthaheel shoes and I really wanted these to work. However they don't. The arch support is wonderful but it is so wide I cannot keep it on my foot even with the adjustable velco straps.

The Orthaheel Gemma Mule Slippers are just ok. Yes they do function as a slipper with a built-in orthotic, but they fall short on stability and arch support. The slippers are roomy and soft--probably overly roomy. They gives less than adequate support for my feet with plantar fasciitis, but are an improvement over flat, everyday slippers you can buy at K-mart. If these are the only game in town for people with plantar fasciitis, then I will a) be sorely disappointed and b) would have no choice but to buy them. But I am on the hunt for something with more support. My feet cave inwards with these. Granted, these are slippers and not sneakers, but it would be nice to be able to wear them around the house without having to shuffle in order to walk straight and keep them on my feet.

I purchased these in the leopard print and I sure do like the way they look. This is my first pair of Orthaheel shoes so they took some getting used to. I have flat, wide feet so I'm grateful these fit in the width. And of course there is an adjustable strap that one can tighten if the slippers stretch out somewhat over time. That being said, I find the orthotic part of the shoe too hard and uncomfortable. I appreciate the arch support as I need it with my flat feet; however, this arch support is too hard and tends to hurt. The really big downer for me is these slippers are crazy hot! I live in the Midwest near Lake Michigan so it can get cold here. I find that I need to remove these slippers and let my feet cool off because they get so hot while wearing these. To be fair, I feel my feet do run hot but I feel these slippers along with a pair of sneakers and a pair of winter boots are the hottest shoes I own.

Incredibly uncomfortable slipper. Felt like there was a rock in the middle of my foot. The arch support is too high and goes all the way across the shoe -- did not curve to a stop in the middle of your foot as it should. Returned it!

For style, they are ugly but I don't mind just wearing them in the house as for comfort - they are wonderful. But the big problem which is why it's hard to recommend them. I love the slipper -- at first, but it has stretched out so much I cannot wear them anymore. I have washed them to try to shrink them but no luck. I have had other fabric slippers and the same thing seems to happen..so I don't think it is a quality thing. I am going to try the slipper in a smaller size to see if it works then.

I had to return my first pair. I noticed after the first week of wearing them they looked very worn. The material used to cover the insole was wearing off and by the following week the material was completely coming apart. I feel that they are very cheaply made and fall apart too quickly for a slipper at this price. Zappos is a great company to order from, but if they continue to sell this product they will be losing out on profit. I read some reviews for their casual shoes (Gym shoe) and a few reviews also suggest that this product (Orthaheel) is very cheaply made.

I was very much looking forward to receiving these Orthaheel slippers as I have a heel spur and thought they would be good to wear around the house. I received the slippers and wore them for about a week and the innersole lining on both slippers started coming detached. I contacted Zappos and they were very helpful in sending me another pair. So far they are holding up okay. I will say though that the arch support is very hard and takes some getting used to. I really don't think they are worth the price.

I purchased this shoe for the Orthaheel "special arch support and heel bed construction." The Orthaheel Brand is designed for "natural foot/ankle alignment." Initially the shoes were great. After 4 weeks of normal indoor slipper wear, I was disappointed when the special construction design failed. Problem: The outer edge of the "heel cup" on the left shoe has flattened. Consequently, my foot slides off the shoe when I walk, which interferes with proper foot alignment. I expected more for the money. Thank you Zappos for your time and attention.

I have been suffering from Plantar Fasciitis for almost 9 months when I purchased these slippers. As a stay at home mom I am on my feet all day and prefer not to wear shoes in the house. I needed a pair of slippers that provided me with great support throughout the day. These slippers did that but after having them for four months the interior lining is slipping away. If I do not wear socks, then your can feel the rubber interior of the slipper...very uncomfortable. If I wear socks, it is okay. I would love a new pair but with the cost so high and them falling apart so quickly I am looking elsewhere.

The arch in this slipper feels like walking on some kind of lump. I found it to be very uncomfortable, even though I wear only shoes with arch support. I will be returning them.

These slippers fill a need I've had for years, to have a slipper that was comfy and ortho correct too! I have used Crocs RX at home for years, but I have to wear socks in the winter of course. These slippers make that unnecessary. They are very comfortable and do have good arch support. My feet kind of slide around in them even when I pull the hook-and-loop tight, which is why theyt don't get 5. I've had other problems with other Orthoheel shoes in the past, specifically a broken buckle twice on the same model of sandal. And my experience is that Orthoheel is usually non man made uppers, so if breathability is important to you, buy Orthoheel sandals or check the materials carefully before buying. The slippers are plenty roomy but still cozy with bare feet or light socks. When I have heavy socks on, I go back to my Crocs. So it's delicious to be able to to slide into these first thing in the morning. And since they have a firm, outdoor bottom, I can wear them out to walk the dog in the yard.
Brands I'd also recommend: Merrell (watch materials also), Footprints, Naot sandals

I was hoping this slipper would fit like a glove, since it has a deep heel cup and is supposedly great for plantar fasciitis. I tried it on and only wore it for a bit (sitting down at the computer), and my back began to hurt. I think the Giesswein slipper with removal insole will be a better fit for me, as I can insert my orthotic under the insole.
Brands I'd also recommend: Noat, Giesswein, Chung Shi

I am a HUGE fan of Orthaheel, as their Tide sandal has given me the ability to walk without pain for the first time in three years. When the summer was over, I bought this slipper so I could have the same needed arch support in an indoor slipper. While I do think the platform of the slipper is the same as the sandal, unlike the Tide sandals I can wear all day, I find these slippers are not as comfortable...primarily, because the slipper is lined with fabric and I find myself "falling OFF" the shoe bed which is not good. I think the slippers would be better with the rubber insole which provides more stability.

You would need to have very high arches for these to be comfortable. They were nice looking (for slippers) and exactly what I was looking for, but my feet couldn't take the very hard arch pressing into them. Ouch. Unfortunately, had to return.

I looked forward to a comfortable, cozy slipper. The arch support is so hard that I would say it is uncomfortable.

I was so excited to receive these slippers, as the doctor recommended I wear supportive shoes, even in the house. These would have been great, except that the top of the slipper rubbed the top of my foot when I walked, causing them to create a new foot problem that I didn't expect. I give them 3 stars, because aside from that, they were very comfortable and the arch support was what I needed. Exchanging these for some Orthaheel sandals instead.
