As a part of recovering from hip surgery I decided to give "barefoot" running a try without actually giving up wearing shoes. I purchased the Evo after doing quite a bit of on-line research. I found the shoes as advertised and have worn them as a part of my physical therapy. I did find the tongue somewhat short; having a tendency to ride down and the material not very breathable when not wearing socks. Otherwise, they are as I had expected. They could also do without the "pink" trim on the shoe - red would be fine. Otherwise, I am very pleased with my first "barefoot" shoes.

I would absolutely not ever recommend this shoe because of its false sizing. I realize I have a size 15 shoe, but the 15 I ordered was clearly at least a full size maybe and a half smaller than a 15. Luckily I was able to give them to my son who is a size 14 and was able to wear them. I was looking forward to the minimalist shoe. I have been using Zappos for many years because of my size. Now sadly it seems they're carrying less and less in my size.

Order at least a size more. I ordered 48 which typically plenty of room. But not even close.

These are fantastic, lightweight shoes. Careful, do not confuse these with the similar Evo II which is intended for runners whose feet get cold, and has foam insulation in the uppers. These shoes have a very open mesh construction that breathes well. These are my new casual shoes when I need something a bit more conventional looking than the Ultra Pure. They are very good looking with jeans or khakis (I have the light grey/royal blue). I usually wear an 11½ but the Euro 44 fit best.

Brands I'd also recommend: Sperry SON-R
