These shoes come with a removable liner that makes them versatile for hot and cool weather. In the month I've had them they've become my go-to shoes for around the house and yard. I I've also worn them for urban sight-seeing in rainy conditions (with liner). I tried them for a short run on a treadmill (without liner and with socks) and liked them. They're great for travel due to their versatility, light weight, and pack-ability. I read a review in a blog that suggests they aren't good for hiking in wet, muddy conditions. I can believe that. They were fine for me on pavement in rainy weather. I also read a review that said the shoelace eyelets came out. I haven't had that happen in a month of wear. The removable liner felt a little tight at first, but either it stretched or I got used to it because it didn't bother me when walking around the city all day. These have a very wide toe box, but it works okay for me (medium-width feet). If you're not accustomed to minimal footwear you may need to slowly build up the length of time you wear them. If your feet are sore and tired after wearing them, it probably means you need to gradually build up more.

These were awesome when they arrived, great on the first run. Second time I wore them the plastic eyelet broke off. I do not think it was a fluke, I think these eyelets will easily break, taking the shoe, in my opinion, from a five star to a one star. I really liked them, but...

These shoes are cute, comfortable, and vegan! But I had an eyelet pop off, twice, like a different reviewer, the second time I wore them. I managed to fix it and have not had that problem since. I wear my Ultras with and without the inserts and the no-puncture sole is pretty sturdy. I have stepped on a whole lot of sharp stuff and nothing has managed to stab through the sole. These amphibious shoes are not so awesome for accidentally finding yourself on a trail (at least without the inserts) as you will get all manner of debris inside and will have to frequently stop to de-twig them. Aside from that, I love them but wish the lacing system did not rely on those oh-so-precarious plastic eyelets.

These are extremely expensive Crocks! After the first week they have become so noisy that I cannot wear them! I have asked the company for suggestions and they have not responded. Of course, without the inserts, they are quiet. Unacceptable in cold weather. Very sorry I bought them.

These shoes ran 2 (European) sizes too large. Zappos customer service helped me exchange them for the correct size. They fit like a glove and are extremely comfortable. I plan on wearing them running along the shoreline and in the wet areas of the gym since they are completely made of plastic and don't have a separate liner. The nubby built-in liner actually messages the foot and the preforated design keeps your feet cool. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase.
Brands I'd also recommend: Brooks green silence.

I love my shoes. They are comfortable and stylish. I have received many compliments and questions from people who want to know how to purchase a pair. I understand that the sock inserts will be available this fall. I plan to purchase additional socks as soon as possible.

I just bought these shoes from the 6pm outlet here in Sheperdsville, Kentucky. As someone who hates shoes, I absolutely love these. They are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever put on, and it feels like a big hug for your feet. I feel like the soles were custom made for my feet. The only problem I have is the insoles makes the shoes about half a size smaller and thus a little tight for me. The insoles are the best part! They are great to wear without the insoles as well. These are my first pair of barefoots and I think I found my new favorite shoes! Please keep this style around for awhile.

Love these shoes! I go barefoot a lot as I take/instruct taekwondo. Sneakers of any kind really feel confining to me. So I am thrilled to find these are light and airy, you can walk all day in them. We are about to embark on a trip to Spain, Portugal and Morocco and these are the only sneakers I am taking. Hubby just ordered a pair since I am so happy and they are light enough for travel. They fit true to size and have a wide toe box area which fits my feet perfect. I also love the sock insert that you can remove for beach/water wear. I can't say enough good things about these great shoes.

Great for a beach vacation. Used as water shoes and to climb/walk in areas I would not have wanted to be barefoot. Used with the liner and without and liked both. Wide width which works perfectly for me.

I bought my first pair "barerfoot" shoes 6 months ago and have never worn anything else since. I have this shoe and eight other pairs of Merrell and Vivobarefoot shoes in running, casual, dress and watershoe styles. They are not for everyone, but for my 75 year old carcass, they have done wonders. The chronic numbness in my feet has all but disappeared, my balance has improved greatly as has my posture. I am very fortunate in discovering this new technology. I read "Born to Run" for the adventure of it, but ended up learning simple truths related to how conventional shoe industry has created a vast lucrative empire at the expense of our feet and rest of our skeletal structure. Do the research (there is plenty solid information out in cyberspace) and if the shoe fits, wear it!
Brands I'd also recommend: Merrell Trail Gloves and their casual dress barefoot shoes.
