From the moment I bought my first Frye bag (the Brooke Speedy in red), I knew that I might as well give up on the rest of the brands I used to like. Nothing else comes close to a Frye and the Brooke Small Satchel in brown is by far one of my favorites. It's basically a mini version of the Brooke Speedy and I can still carry everything I need inside it. It's soft, durable, and feels so good in my hands. It looks tiny when you take it out of the bag, but it does expand as you begin to fill it with things. I get so many compliments on it. I'll always be a Frye girl!

Just received this & it's so cute! I purchased the Brown Soft Vint leather & the actual color is definitely more brown than it appears (I was expecting a caramel/tobacco color from the picture) but I like it just as well. The distressing makes it look comfortably used (which I love!). Cool double zip on the top, the cross body strap comes off if you just want the short handles & both sides zip open for phone or keys. Plenty of room for necessities. I have the larger size in this also in the distressed red & this is a nice alternative when I don't want to lug a huge bag around.

This bag is deceptively small. You can actually fit a lot of stuff in there and the inside is boxy so you can easily fish around for stuff on the bottom. It definitely has an aged appearance (I got the red one). The shoulder strap seems flimsy for the bag, which is surprisingly heavy. The shoulder strap and zipper pull strap were both more frayed than in the photo but the bag may be too cute to part with. If you want something fun and interesting and don't need a large purse, this is a good choice. Note that the main section is not completely closed by the zippers so small objects could potentially drop out but the two side sections are great for pens and there is an inner zip pocket for coins. Overall a very cool purse.

Frye hit it out of the park with this bag. For people who can live without carrying 10 pounds of crap, this bag is big enough to carry the essentials in. I'm a minimalist and like small pens, small calendars, small lip gloss, all things small. This is great for when you want a compact small bag. It's cute as a button and does not look like a child's purse. The distressed finish is the best because you don't have to worry about it getting or looking dirty. It looks a hundred years old from day one. I get compliments on it every time I carry it. It's one of my all time favorites. I like it better than my Jimmy Choo's.

I bought this purse in burnt red. It's the coolest bag I've ever owned, and I've owned plenty, believe me. I normally like a huge carryall, but this one's worth the downsizing, just because it's so freaking cute. Worth every penny, too.

When a bag costs this much, I expect total quality - not a job that only goes part way. Although this bag has great detailing and lots of character, the cross-body strap was created with a piece of scrap leather. It is thin and looks like it could easily snap given a hard enough tug. Disappointed in an "American classic" that appears to have been made in Bangladesh. Back it goes.
