I normally take an 8.5, I ordered a 9 based on another review and it fit perfectly. I love these shoes.... durable, comfortable. I haven't tested the waterproof part yet, but my experience of Keen is that they will be!

Great color combination. Sturdy and solid shoe. Order a half size more (example: I ordered 8 1/2 and need a 9). All around great shoe!

I spend a lot of time on my feet and need comfortable, sturdy shoes. I'm a film graduate student and make films as well as teach classes which means long days on my feet. I also want my shoes to be stylish. A friend recommended Keen, which I had never tried before. This is now my favorite pair of shoes. I also live in Utah and want shoes that can hold up to the cold weather, snow and ice and these do the trick. The toe doesn't narrow as much as most shoes. As I get older, the narrow type shoes become increasingly uncomfortable. We just finished filming long hours all weekend, and my new Keen shoes got me through it just fine! I like shoes with a little extra toe room, and medium width, and these are perfect. These black Keens with purple highlights are great! I give these 5 stars overall. Very comfy, sturdy, warm, attractive fun shoes!

These feel true to size and have adequate padding and good support. Although the upper and the sole is quite stiff at first, the shoes were fairly comfortable out of the box and everything loosened up with a few days of wear. Keen and Zappos...great as always.

Very, very hard/stiff soled. Not comfortable, no cushioning. By the end of the 1st day my feet were killing me and tired.I am a courier and dont mind spending more for a good, cushioned , supportive pair of shoes. So I bought a pair of the gell inserts. Better but still not what I expected for $130. If I had not have worn them out I would be asking for a refund. Nothing like several of my freind's raves about Keens. I think this stylle missed it in the comfort end.

I have been using my Keen Targhees (or similar) since 2007 and thought it was time for a new pair. These have the same wide toebox, but come up a bit higher on the heel/ankle and rub uncomfortably on the bone. Just like everyone says, they are half a size small. I wear a 7½ and ordered an 8; the length fit great.

I walk 14 miles a day, 5 to 6 days a week carrying mail for US Postal Service. I wear a size 5 in women's with wide feet. I have spent a lot of money trying to find shoes that fit my feet and will hold up to the demands of my job. I would normally buy New Balance shoes, but they do not keep my feet dry & cannot find overshoes for my small feet. I bought my 1st pair of keens in Nov 2012 and fell in love with them! They are very comfortable and my feet do not hurt at the end of the day. I have worn them in rain, snow, sleet & wet grass from the morning dew and my feet stay dry. I am just now replacing them for a new pair in May 2013. Well worth every penny :)

I love these shoes! I have been buying Keens for about five years but this year I decided to splurge on the Gypsum (I usually buy the Voyageur) and I could not be happier. They do run about a half size large so order accordingly.

Another great Keen product. I bought these for hiking in Maine and they did not disappoint. Great flex and support, and great grip. We were descending on wet granite slabs and these stuck like glue. Perfect for warm weather hiking. I happen to love the grey and green too! Oh by the way, if you have any other Keens order that size. I ordered a size bigger based on other reviews and had to send them back for my regular size. I find Keens true to traditional sizes anyway.

I love my Keen hikers. The high-tops bothered my ankles so I bought these. Perfect so far, nice big toe box and light.

I love the colors of these hiking shoes. They fit well, and are very sturdy. I took out the liner and put in my orthotic so they now provide excellent arch support.

Great stable shoes for serious hiking. If you're looking for something for more general purpose use, try one of Keen's other styles. I bought these for backpacking because I can't stand how a true hiking boot feels on my ankles, but still wanted good support. So far so good!

I so wanted these to fit, but they didn't. The Gypsum is nicely made, with no lumps and bumps inside the shoe, and the sole is beautifully stable and flexible. However, the Keen fit seems to favor those with relatively straight feet, not the duck-footed among us. My feet have narrow heels, wide-ish toes, high arches and instep, and low volume. Some reviews stated that the toe box in these was wider than other Keen models, and I think it is - just not wide enough for my feet. The heel cup is huge - lots of slip despite the ability to cinch it down with the specially-designed lacing. Sniff - they must go back. Thanks, Zappos!

I am a huge fan of Keens. I needed a replacement for my Targee I hiking shoes, which are no longer manufactured. I tried all of the waterproof Keen hiking shoes, including the Targee II. I also tried waterproof hiking shoes from Vasque, Merrell and North Face. While I wasn't thrilled with any of the choices in terms of comfort, I found the Gypsum to be the most similar in fit and comfort to my previous pair. As I said, I am a huge fan of Keen, but I'm lukewarm on these.

My wife loves the style but said the heel is to high and causes her to tip forward when walking. Too bad. We would have keep them.

I usually run in the size 9-9.5 range. I bought the 9.5 because it's a hiking shoe and I wear thicker socks and they fit perfectly. First time buying shoes online. They were perfect for day hiking in the woods.

I found these pretty true to size. I am usually an 8, sometimes a 7.5. The 8 is perfect. Very comfortable right out of box and most definitely waterproof - proved to me on a very wet day.

This is my second pair of Keens like this. I like them even better than the last pair. I have a wide foot and the shoes fit me perfectly. I wear them hiking and I wear them in the gym. No need to break them in. Straight out on the trail for an 8 mile hike.

I ordered this to be the summer version of my Voyager mid shoes which are my winter therapy shoes - I like the Gypsum at least as much - maybe more. Lightweight, cute, super comfortable from the first time I put them on and all day - very rare for me. The roomy toe box and good arch support are especially good for my feet.

I tried several Keens, as well as Merrell and Vasque, to replace my Vasque trail shoes. These were by far the best... lightweight, almost like not wearing a shoe! Have not put the waterproofing to the test yet, but on trail and on streets it's been terrific. I did have to go up a full size and the toe box is wide enough but the length was just a bit snug on one foot otherwise. A thicker hiking sock resolves this. Another plus - easy to slip on and off without messing with the laces!

The Keen Gypsum has been suitable to my needs. As other reviewers suggested, I ordered 1/2 size larger which worked out to be just right. I have a wide foot and the toe box was accomodating. Break in period was minimal. The shoe was comfortable from the first hike. I even trampled through minor water and my feet remained dry. No complaints from me.

Ordered these for my wife as a surprise. She wasn't real excited until they were on her feet. Now they are her favorites. She has had back and neck surgery and tells me the support of the KEENs has helped her pain tremendously. Now she is online looking for another pair.

I got these for a recent trip to Iceland. I wanted something lightweight and somewhat stylish to wear around town, but sturdy/waterproof enough for hiking on rocky, wet, and/or cold areas. These did the job perfectly. They fit great right out of the box, which I figured they would, since my other pair of Keens have held up amazingly well for 6 years and have always been super comfy. My only issue was wearing low ankle socks - the back of the heel rubbed and caused a bit of a blister. Probably my own fault, and wearing higher socks would probably fix the issue.
