I am an experienced runner and cross trainer, these are not worth the money and they do not seem to be sturdy enough for anything other than casual wear. They are cute, but no thanks.

I ran 2012 Boston, 2012 Chicago (qualified for Boston again!), and I'm running New York 2012 in these. If you are moving to the more minimal shoe but aren't ready to go all out, these are a great (in my opinion) intermediate shoe to work with. Don't expect more than 300 miles on them, but at this price, they are a deal. Flashy too.

I am giving these shoes only 4 stars because of durability. I run around 10 miles/week, mostly road. I've had these shoes for 3 or 4 months and they are starting to give in (soles getting worn, parts of the shoe coming apart). That's the negative side. On the positive side: love them for running. They have just enough cushioning in the mid foot area (I really don't like cushioned running shoes). The colors are very nice (many to choose from) and the price is fair (most running shoes are over $100, and my beloved Newton Gravity are $175).

I normally wear a 6.5 or 7 depending on brand and the 7 fits great. The shoe is light weight, but keeps me supported during boot camp and group exercise classes. The color is great and I get lots of compliments on my cute shoes.

Comfortable, light, great! I bought them for casual wear. Not sure how they would do with intense exercise, but for this purpose they wonderful.

These are my favorite running shoes! They are light and so comfortable. I bought multiple pairs of these. My runs are usually 5 to 10 miles... plus I wear them for Crossfit. Love them!

I loved these right off the bat. I usually wear an 8½ or 9 but ended up having to order a 9½ which worked perfectly. I run/walk and do dance aerobics and love how light the shoes are. Not to mention they are super cute!

I have enjoyed wearing these shoes for the past couple weeks. The purple material on top is a sweatshirt like material. It is nice that it isn't an open mesh, but still breathes well. I am used to a cross country flat like Saucony's Shay or Kilkenny, so this shoe has a nice spring and cushion to it without being too thick in the sole. I decided to order these after my sister had had them for a while.

These shoes are super comfy and so lightweight! I am not really a runner but needed something to walk and run a little in. I'm not a fan of the cushy, thick-soled athletic shoes out there so it was a challenge for me to find something that didn't feel too bulky. These fit the bill. The footbed is firmer than some shoes (which I really like) and they are light and airy. I think they weigh less than my Merrell Barefoot shoes! A great pick. I'm not a fan of the bright colors but whatcha gonna do? Found them at Zappos for a lot less than my local running store...I try to shop local but...?! Zappos you win!

This is my third pair if 1400's! These and the NB WRC1600's are the only sneakers I can run in. Definitely minimalist, but just enough support for an awesome run. The 1400's run a half size small, so I always order an 8.5, and they are perfect! As always Zappos' delivery and service are top notch!

Love these shoes! I'm recovering from a calf injury and have tried to run in many shoes with no luck. These shoes are so light and comfortable, I'm back to running at my old pace without pain. If you're on the fence, like I was, get them! Totally worth it.

These shoes are incredible. New Balance always works for me. But I overpronate and have worn the very built up, trail runner type shoes with lots of stability. I always feel like I am picking my heavy shoes up when I lift my feet, and was so tempted by minimalists. They are as light as my socks! Fit my foot perfectly. That's the difference: the way they perfectly fit my foot. No, they don't keep my heel any more stable, but I am betting on the overall foot fit to matter most. I ran in them today, no ankle pain. Not a stability shoe by any means, but I needed a change and assumed if the shoe fit my foot well, the rest would follow. The technolgoy in these shoes must work great. I hike/run in trail runners, also fron New Balance, and use these for walking and short jogs, the gym and running errands. They aren't rugged-soled, like a trail runner should be due to rocks. Lots of compliments on the color!I'll buy the other color, as I think these are the best sneakers I've ever owned.

These are the best running shoes I've owned, and I've spent a great deal more money on shoes I didn't like half as much. I have narrow feet with a wider metatarsal and these fit well for me. They're very light and provide good ventilation. Highly recommended.

This is my 3rd pair of 1400s. I love them. They are light without sacrificing support and protection from the road. They are as close to barefoot as I like to go. For me they last about 300-400 miles before I retire them to walking around shoes so about 6 months or less depending on the weather. My only complaint is that the tongue needs to be flattened out every time I tie the laces but it's a small price to pay for how comfortable and light they are.

By far the most lightweight & comfortable shoe! And the colors are amazing. Literally feel as if I'm walking barefoot. Absolutely love them! And the reviews really helped in making the choice to purchase, thanks Zappos. Your service is beyond amazing.

I love this shoe! It's super light and the colors say BAM! Good shoe if you like the Minimus line but want just wee bit more cushion. I usually wear an 8.5, went up to a 9 and it fits perfect.

These are great shoes. I was nervous to get a minimal running shoe, coming from the bulky 990s, but these shoes are comfortable for running and cross fit alike. It doesn't hurt that they look good, too. I would definitely buy these again.

Good for light, long distance running. I loved these shoes. I bought them because I needed to transition out of my barefoot running shoes for long distances and it did the job. Very good for walking too.

These shoes fit perfectly with my orthotics in them without removing the insole. Color is fun. I walk in these but I could see where they would be a good running shoe. Can't go wrong with New Balance.

This is my second pair of WR1400 bought in the space of three months. I have been using them for fairly heavy running, about 40 miles per week on roads and trails. I love the fit, and the support they offer despite how light they are, they feel like gloves on your feet. However, they do no last for this type of training, and this pair, which I have been using for just a month now are already completely worn out. I need to replace them with a different model, which I dread in a way, since these are super comfortable from day one, even on long runs. Though, I just cannot keep getting a new pair every month. I would recommend these for the occasional runner, or as a pair of racing flats, which I guess that they are intended for.
