I really like these. They are a bit pricey for what is basically control top tights, but the quality is very good and you can choose the gray side or the black side.

I have to say I'm really disappointed. I've never spent this much money on tights before (I usually go with $5 tights), but these had such great reviews that I decided to take a chance. Bad idea. Yes, they were very soft and cozy, but there was a rip in them as soon as I put them on. I got the right size (I had the option to size down because I was right on the fence but I went with the larger size out of caution), so I'm not sure what I did or if the rip was there to begin with. If you wear tights a lot, then you know how much it sucks to discover a run/rip/hole after one wear - well imagine how I felt...I didn't even get to wear them! I love Zappos and will continue to shop here, but I'm still upset. I wish I could return them but I don't think anyone would want used tights. I feel like I just threw the money in the garbage because I have a feeling that that's where these tights have to go now.

Super-convenient with both black and brown colors in one pair! I prefer the footless tights, but am happy to have two colors in one pair with this item.

Love, love, love these! Black on one side brown on the reverse. They fit beautifully. I am 5'2 and have an athletic build. Some tights make me look bulky but these are very slimming!

I purchased these tights based on the positive reviews and am very happy with them. They're more opaque than any other allegedly opaque tights I've tried (my previous favorite was Hue's super-opaque control-top), which makes them ideal to wear with shorter dresses/skirts while still maintaining a professional rather than a night-lifey look. Although they're pricier than some other brands, they seem sturdy and like they'll last for quite some time (I usually manage to destroy tights after only 1-3 rounds, and so far these have survived maybe 10 rounds and they're still going strong!), so I think they'll end up being cost-effective. I'm 5'4, 100ish lbs, and bought size A; they're perfectly comfortable but not too tight, not too loose, and structural enough to stay in place but to do much in the way of shaping someone with my frame would probably need a smaller size option. All in all, these are my favorite tights and I'll be buying a few more pairs.

It's a waste of money to buy anything else. Very few snags, no runs, they hold up to washing machines and still look great. In the past 15 years, I've only owned three pairs, because that's all I've needed. I finally wore a hole in the heel of the last pair. These are great for everyday wear and for a layer of warmth under jeans in the winter. When I wear a skirt, the reinforced part shows when I sit down, so you may want another brand for really short skirts.

A must have for anyone who wears tights for extended periods of time. Very soft and comfortable, and sucks everything in. The reversible feature makes it great for travel!

I am in love with these tights. They are so comfortable I forget I'm even wearing tights. I bought the grey/black pair, the grey is fairly dark FYI. And I don't know about you but it is very difficult for me to buy tights advertised as opaque that are actually opaque and amazingly these are! Very thick and they keep me warmer than most tights I've owned. I will be buying a pair in every color. Fits true to size, buy these and you won't be disappointing.

I thought these tights were going to change my life! These are great tights: super opaque, slimming but not restrictive, and because they are reversible, like two pairs in one. However, I am disappointed with the way the tights wear. They pilled the first time I wore them and continue to do so afterwards.

I typically wear Falke or Wolford tights so I was skeptical that Spanx were going to be good enough quality for the opaque coverage I want. I have to admit that they do the trick. They're thick enough to not lose their color at the knee light Hue tights do. I gave the 4 stars for style because they don't quite cover as well as Wolfords or Falke. They're super stretchy so they stay up too which is great for days when you're walking around a lot. They stay put much better than other tights. As for the low rise that others have mentioned, I agree. These tights are much more low-rise than typical Hue or department store brands. I love that about them, though. I'm 5'2" so the low rise works great for me. It is especially helpful when I'm wearing a skirt that is low-rise. Others mentioned the waistband rolled. I didn't find this at all. The waistband is wide and thick and stayed in place perfectly for me. As a point of reference/full disclosure, I'm pretty fit and have a relatively flat stomach so that could be a factor. I really like wearing these tights. They 'hug' your legs and are cozy feeling. I hope this review helped you make your decision!

Brands I'd also recommend: Falke, Wolford

All the squeeze you love and expect from Spanx, but they're also a really sharp-looking, well made pair of tights. How well made? I crashed my Vespa in them last week and they didn't even snag. Wish I could say the same for the road rash on me and my scooter!

Pretty happy with these and they're very dark black and basically completely opaque. Great shaping effect, with a little bit of rolling down at the top (as another reviewer mentioned), but not enough rolling to be seen even under a tight shirt. Good price for the quality. If you're planning on wearing these with short shorts or a short skirt, make note that there is a line on the upper thigh that might be visible. (the border where the thick thigh shaping section joins with the thinner leg section)!

I'm 5'6 and 120 pounds bought size medium and the fit is very good. One objection I have with all Spanx products is either the waist band (in this case) rolls and does not remain flat, or in the case of a Spanx half slip, the bottom kept rolling up. I returned the half slip and will probably return the tights. For me Spanx just don't work.

These are the best tights I've ever worn and I repeatedly buy them each winter. They are reasonably thick and very opaque and the reversible factor is also very nice. I buy them in a size that they are not terribly squeezing as spanx are probably meant to be, but I love them and wear them constantly in the winter. They last longer than other tights I've purchased, but of course they're still tights and I manage to damage them eventually. Still, totally worth the $35 or whatever the price is.

I wear these all winter long. Not only do they help keep your giggly parts in place, they add warmth during the cold and rainy months. Even with regular wearing they keep their shape for a good 3 months or so.

Sleek and functional. I've owned Spanx for years so when it comes to getting in and out of them, I'm a seasoned professional. These tights look great at the office and underneath an event dress. Very comfortable and always run true to size. Worth every penny and will last for years if hand washed.

Brilliant idea. And of course the signature spanx tummy/hip control is perfect. I would order an extra pair though, because you'll find yourself wearing them often, and need to have a clean pair at the ready.

These are the gold standard for opaque tights. I purchased my first pair in early 2008 and after five years' of approx. 3x per week wear every winter, it was only in Oct 2013 that I finally had to replace them due to a tiny hole above the knee. I also own a pair in black-brown which is about 2 years old and still in great shape. Unfortunately, the replacement black-gray pair I ordered from zappos somehow got a hole near the crotch area about a month after purchase. I'm still wearing them b/c the hole doesn't seem to be ripping any further or causing any runs in the tights (and no one can see it). I've chalked it up to just a fluke experience which is the reason I still gave the tights five stars. The tights are midweight and quite soft. Very comfortable. Fit is high-waisted and true to size. (I'm 5'5", 115 lb, and wear a size A.) These tights have proved to be a wardrobe staple for me and I wear both the charcoal and black sides frequently.

So far so good! Make sure you pull them up over your waist, or they will ride down. If you don't have a waist line, I would pass on these and other control top tights because they will roll down. Also, these are tights, not leggings, so they will snag like hose and I suspect eventually get fuze balls.

I bought a pair of these tights in 2001, wore them hundreds and hundreds of times, and am just now having to replace them! I had never heard of Spanx when I bought them & I was mortified to spend so much on a pair of tights (which is why I so distinctly remember the cost!). Best money on clothes I've ever spent. Needless to say, they make you look great and the quality is amazing. They never faded, never got a run, and I'm only replacing them now (11 years later) because of a small hole at the toe that just appeared last week. I'm happily opening the wallet to fork over the money on these. They're worth twice the price. I truly can't recommend them highly enough.

The main reason I bought these was because I hoped for them to be warm. My theory was that since they are reversible, there should be at least two threads in the fabric. They are not as warm as I hoped for, but I am still very pleased with the purchase. They seem very durable and I hope to get lots of use out of them. I also like that they are not too shiny. I'd definitely buy them again.

These are great! I am skinny, but after 2 kids, I need some help under clingy dresses! These are perfect! I don't feel the grey side is that nice, but I am totally happy with the black (and that's all I bought them for anyway).
