I absolutely love this shoe. It's comfortable, stylish and sexy. The heel is just right. It feels about 1/2 size big- slips a bit, but nothing socks don't fix.

Very difficult to walk in, there is no give to the front of the shoe and feels like you are walking on a wooden block. Very cute and nice finish to the leather but no way could I walk anywhere in this shoe - had to return.

Very stiff sole. Very very stiff, like wooden clogs. Can't imagine why they would make it like this. Also, they don't make it in narrow, which I need. I was hoping they would fit because I like the looks. (Though in person the heel is heavy looking. My size 11 may have something to do with that, but thought I'd mention it.) They are well constructed and materials are good quality. But with the stiff sole and lack of narrow sizes, I'm returning them.

Beautiful shoe. Had to return it though-was too big. The back heel area slipped too much even with the strap on this shoe secured.

I love the Lois line - I have two pairs of Lois oxfords, so naturally I wanted to try the MJ. I'd agree with many of the reviewers - I'm a true size 10. The 9.5 was too small in the toe box, the 10 fit in the toe box but I swam in them. I was determined to keep them because I love Frye shoes which do have a hard leather and a break-in period. The leather, however, is top quality, and the rustic look of the Lois line can't be approached by another manufacturer. The color of the gray MJ's are stunning - a true neutral that go with everything. My trick? I took them into a shoe store and had another piece of leather sewn into the heel cup and they fit perfectly. An additional $20 expense, but that's how much I love this shoe. With the platform, the heel height is perfect for all day, and I mean all day, wear. Thanks Frye, and thanks Zappos!

I agree with what everyone has said. First off, they are simply beautiful. The leather and craftsmanship can't be denied, and is classic Frye quality (even though I noted my pair was made in China). The style is adorable and will go well with even bare legs and a skirt or jeans. In terms of construction, it's true, the leather is stiff and requires some wearing around the house to loosen up. The toe box is narrow and the heel is wide; as a result I compromised and marked the shoe "true" in the width. The cushioning is quite good and with a little platform, the heel is wearable from the first minute you put them on. I plan on wearing them around the house to break them in (all my Fryes: boots, oxfords, and heels, are narrow in the toe) and to compensate for the wide heel, inserting a bit of sheepskin to take up the slack so I can wear them with thin tights and pantyhose. Voila. Hey, nobody's perfect! Personally, I couldn't be happier, plus with Zappos famous customer service? To die for!

I love the look of these shoes. They are very sleek and narrow. There is not enough coverage at the toe, though. My toe creases the shoes and they look kind of unattractive. I sent them back.

Meh - however, well constructed this shoe is, it does not fit well (at not least on my sized 8.5 feet). It is narrow across the top over the ball of foot, and my heel popped out of the heel cup with each step.

I'm disappointed in these shoes. The style is clunky but kind of cool. The cushioning in the sole is excellent, especially at the ball of the foot. However, the front of the shoe cuts into my toes really badly. I was hoping these the leather at the toe of the shoe would stretch out (I have other Frye shoes that stretched out a little with wear), but these shoes still hurt.

I love my Frye boots and was excited to get these today. Sadly, I am returning them. First, I am a solid size 9 and ordered a 9 but it was much too big for me. The biggest problem, though, was that the shoes are really dowdy. Other than the cute way the strap was attached, the shoes looked like something my mother-in-law would wear. They are very rounded at the toe and there is not much styling. I was very disappointed.

Wow -- I really do not understand but my experience with these is so different from other reviewers! For me these shoes ran really small -- I am usually a 7 1/2 to 8 medium width and the 8 was way too small. Also, it shows a lot of toe cleavage -- not cool for a work pump! The toe box is just too short and doesn't cover the bottom of your toes! Weird. Too bad because they look cute in the box.
