After researching tea kettles and reading all the reviews, I bought this one. It is probably the best tea kettle I have ever owned. It's light and the swivel handle makes it incredibly easy to use. No need for a potholder to pour. The handle doesn't get hot. Also, it looks beautiful in my modern kitchen. I love using it.

I have looked at just about every tea pot in the world. This one has a few good and bad things about it that everyone should be aware of. This is labeled as a 1.7 quart capacity, which is not true since you can't fill it up even half way. The problem is the shaft/tube that pours water out of it starts near the bottom of the pot, and obviously if you start to fill water up above the opening of the spout shaft, it will start to come right out of the spout. And then when you pour it, and tip it back, the water sloshed back and forth and comes spilling out all over, burning anyone within a few inches of it. The spout should have been near the top so that you can fill it up higher and not have a problem with pouring. The rest of the design is okay, and the handle is particurly comfortable with the wide silicon handle cover, however it's on top so you can tip very far without having to bend or lean your whole body over. The handle should be angled or placed more towards the side so you can tip it more than 90 degrees to pour. The only really great thing about this style is that the handle bends to the sides so you can have full access to the top opening. That would be fantastic to see that design on more tea pots. The handle should be on the side like a pitcher that you pour. Have you ever seen a pitcher that has a handle across the top for pouring, that would make no sense!

I was looking for a 1 qt but couldn't find one I like so I purchased the 1.7. This is great. Like the classic style.

Well, it looks nice; however, when pouring be careful. If you pour at too steep an angle the boiling water will suddenly begin to gush in large uncontrolled spurts instead of a steady stream. Not good. It does boil the water quickly probably due to the large flat bottom and will hold lots of water. Just be aware of the pouring issue. Too late for me to return it. I wonder why purchasing such a simple thing as a tea kettle requires so much research. There seems to be many design flaws for this type of equipment no matter what the brand.

This is a great kettle! Really solid and all joints are metal not plastic so I'm sure it will last longer than any other kettle I've owned. It is a great shape and the nice brushed metal exterior, I love it!

Excellent tea kettle and good value. Purchased to replace an expensive English copper kettle that had started to corrode inside. Checked the reviews and features and this appeared to be the best choice. Holds an ample amount of water for tea or instant coffee. Handle always cool and whistle cap is easy to use (takes some getting used to since you have to close it each time - it does not close by itself). Pours smoothly with no drips. Cleans easily and looks great - classic, yet modern.

Like other reviews I looked at many tea kettles before deciding on this one. I am a big tea drinker so I really wanted something I loved and was very functional. This is it. It looks lovely on the stove top and has a nice sweet whistler, nothing obnoxious. The reason I took one star off on style is that I really wanted something slightly smaller but small good quality kettles are very hard to find. Delivery was so swift (like 36 hours later) that it was a surprise to see it on my doorstep.

This is a great kettle with one small problem. The kettle spits. The top has a silicone ring which keeps everything pretty snug, but air can't get in so the kettle glugs and spits a bit when you pour. Just pour slowly and you will be fine.

I like the old fashioned lines of this kettle and it does hold alot of water. However, if you fill it too full you will have trouble pouring the water into the cup. You cannot beat the price.

I would give this kettle another star if it weren't for the thin metal. With the price tag the metal should be thicker. Other than that I'm very happy with it. The whistle on the first one I bought didn't work. Exchanged it. The whistle on the second didn't work. The third kettle had a working whistle.

This is a lovely teapot and I hate to have to return it, but I do. It doesn't sit flat on my glass ceramic stove top so it rocks back and forth like it's possessed. I think it would work find on a gas or electric stove.
