I purchased 2 pairs of these fine shoes in Brown and Cinnamon. The Veblen Limited is stylish and well-crafted. I wear them with jeans or chinos, and they look great. I really like these shoes, and they receive many compliments. However, the "wood" finish on the side of the soles, particularly at the toe, wears off very easily.

Very comfortable shoes, but after 2 weeks, both leather soles delaminated. Even after having the local cobbler repair the bottom layer of sole, both have come loose again.

These shoes rock, and look and feel much more expensive than they are, but beware of the sizing. I normally wear a 9.5, after 2 tries we got it right. I ended up with 8.5! Wow. But Zappos was great with the exchanges!

This is a classy yet versatile shoe that I can wear to functions and casual outings. Workmanship is good for the asking price. Comfortable with very good arch support. For those familiar with Kenmoor, the Veblen has an overall softer feel with perhaps a tad wider cut. Highly recommended! Get them before sold out!

Florsheim's "Veblen": Stylish full brogue pattern, quality leather upper and outsole; these are comparable in quality and sizing to similarly constructed Allen Edmonds shoes. I ordered these in brown and at first was a little perplexed by the rawness of the leather which, despite the style and quality of the materials, suggested these shoes should be worn in the original manner of brogue shoes. Since I don't have a reason to treat these shoes poorly, I applied a coat of neutral shoe cream which finished the leather without giving it a shined look. Now I have the perfect bridge between a suit and a pair of dry selvage jeans.

I was looking for these limited shoes for a while. Even Florsheim didn't have my size 11 anymore. Zappos delivered these in 2 days without me having to expedite them; nice surprise! Shoes look fantastic, feel amazingly comfortable, and the manufacturing is outstanding. Yet, without Zappos availability and quick turnaround, I might have missed out on such a magnificent pair. Thanks.

Great shoes! Florsheim won't let you down with these classics. I wear them with a crisp pair of dark skinny jeans or with slacks to work. I get compliments from everyone, and after a month of daily wear, the shoes still look new. Thanks to Zappos, too for being so awesome!

Very well made, comfortable and affordable. I needed a pair of brown shoes for work and these fit the bill. Love the classic style of the "full" wing vs the more common wing tip.

These are killer shoes: classic style, hefty well-made feel, great color. I will be wearing these with pride for years. Really impressed with Florsheim! As always, shopping with Zappos was a delight. I sent two pairs back until I got the right size (turns out a 9.5D fits better than either a 9D or a 9E).

Absolutely beautiful shoe. The quality is unbelievable for such a great price. It's now my favorite blucher shoe that I own. They're breaking in so nice with no creasing. The leather upper is an amazing rich color (rust) and works with everything. My first pair of Florsheims but I'm very very impressed. If only more shoe companies made classic style this accessible and affordable.

I am very happy with this shoe. The gray color isn't flashy, but is different enough to draw a lot of compliments. The construction seems very solid throughout, and the shoes have held up nicely to every-other-day wear. I would describe the fit as true-to-size in the toe box, but loose in the heel. I have to wear a thick pair of socks with these to keep them comfortably snug. Also, one star because the outer sole has some cosmetic imperfection and doesn't appear to affect the sturdiness of the shoe but they cost enough that they should appear perfect out of the box.

I waited two months to review these shoes. They run a full size larger. Although they look great, these are literally the least comfortable pair of shoes that I have ever worn. I wore them everyday for over a month, and they have still never broke in. In fact, they even caused me back problems because the right shoe broke in differently than the left. This is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent on shoes, and I have learned my lesson. I would rather wear Dockers. Save up for a pair of second hand Allen Edmonds.

The Veblen's are very stylish and will turn a few heads with the right color but the shoe is heavy as a brick and uncomfortable when walking on hard surfaces.

Not really a criticism of the shoe, just a clarification -- the Brown Veblen is a kind of suede finish, which gives it a more casual look than you might want.

Great style, sturdy construction. I've been wearing these pretty regularly for almost a week and they are breaking in nicely. They are pretty stiff when brand new, but are becoming more comfortable with every wear. The fit was right on, first time on they were a little snug but even as I walked in them the first day they started molding to my foot. I am pleased with this purchase and would definitely give business again to Florsheim.

The shoe looked great, and seems well constructed, but runs quite large. I ordered a size 10.5, which is normally snug on my foot. Even at that normally snug size, my heel has been slipping out the back of this shoe when I walk. I tried getting heel pads, but they won't stay in place. I am planning to buy some tongue pads, which I hope will push my foot further to the back of the shoe and prevent the infuriating heel slip.

Florsheim continues to impress me. I ordered the Camel/Canvas in this shoe and wow, what a beautiful shoe! Having the classic lines of the 'Kenmoor', this shoe has never gone out of style. The combination of adding the canvas puts this shoe in another category of sophisticated casual. Can be worn with chinos or even jeans, these shoes will show the world that you're not a trend follower, but a trend setter. No square toe 'bowling shoe' look, these shoes say you know and expect quality.

These shoes are wonderful everyday wingtips. Construction is on point especially for this price point. I would definitely size at least a half size down. I generally wear a 10, but only a 8.5 would fit properly. Looking forward to wearing them in this fall.

These shoes are quite comfortable - although a bit stiff at first. And they are beautiful. Note, they run large. At least a half size larger than other shoes I have.

I purchased these for my hubby and when they arrived, he tried them on and loved the fit and the look. Since then, he has worn them to the office several times and loves the way they feel.

You can't beat the value of this shoe. Real leather soled shoes with this much detail usually go for twice the price. Solid comfort for a formal shoe.

I own these shoes in 2 other colors that I purchased from Florsheim - both are size 8.5. I ordered 8.5 in the navy blue from Zappos and they arrived today. They look great but feel at least a half size too big, if not a full size. Not sure why but returning them for a smaller size.

I purchased the Veblens in the Wine color. Note that this color on screen may look darker than the real thing. They are actually more of a maroon or burgundy but nonetheless I am still happy with the color. My first impression with these shoes was that they are heavy and stiff! But you can truly see that it's quality leather and craftsmanship. They are going to feel very stiff when you first wear them but with time they'll soften up. I find the insoles to be very comfortable and they have decent arch support. I've worn these shoes all day without any discomfort. Mine have a little bit of inconsistency in color on the sole and heel - looks like stain runoff in some parts, but I actually like that. Another reviewer had mentioned that the leather on the Wine had a hint of a distressed look to it and I have to agree but it's not enough to say they look worn or broken-in. As far as sizing and fit goes, it may vary a bit from person to person. I wear a size 11.5 in Nike's, Adidas, Vans, etc. I ordered a size 11 as recommended by others to order a half size down and they fit great. Not too snug, not too loose. BUT, be warned you may experience some heel lift at first. I read a review by someone on the Florsheim site and he explained because the soles are thick, solid leather and the shoes are stiff at first, you will experience some heel lift initially but as they break in, that goes away. Sure enough, that's what's happened with my pair. So my recommendation is to order a half size down and although you may get some lift at first, let them break in and they'll conform to your foot. I think it's a great shoe for the money. I see wingtips like these sell for $250 to $550 and although I've never owned those, I'd say these are just as good in quality and comfort. There is a similar version of these shoes in the Florsheim by Duckie Brown line called the Broken-In Brogue Oxford. They are essentially the same shoe but they are already broken-in and distressed for you, not to mention they are also available in some funky colors. But instead of paying this much for broken-in shoes, I'd recommend getting the Veblen's and breaking them in yourself.
