I bought these for my husband after he picked them out. They're beautiful, in usual Frye fashion, but we both felt like the toe was too pointy. It's more cowboy-esque than the photo shows. Also the boots arrived looking far more white washed than the photos. They look almost grey, like he's been walking through post apocalypse ash or something. We're returning them, although I think they're nice looking and some people will really enjoy them.

At first when I tried them on I almost returned them. They are very hard to get on But after a wearing them for a few days I was amazed! These are my favorite new boots. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. They look great with jeans!

This is a great shoe and will get you tons of compliments. A word of caution though. When they are new and the first several times you wear them, it is a real challenge to get them on. I have a moderately high instep and was determined to keep these boots. It was hell getting them on the first several times I wore them, but it finally got easier. Once they are on, even the first time, they fit like a glove and could not be more comfortable. Unfortunately, I have not been wearing them much recently because of all the snow in Chicago this winter(2013-14). I treated them with Frye Boot Cream, but I still don't want to take a chance with all the salt and slush. Get a pair, you won't be disappointed.

A bit narrow, which makes them comfortable but difficult to get on. Zipper is a bit sticky. These boots are gorgeous once you brush them up to remove the white oil. Great boots, Frye's never disappoint.

These are great shoes/boots! I expect high quality and solid design from Frye and am very pleased with the fit and finish of the Jayden Crosstrap. And my Birkenstock insoles fit perfectly in this shoe.

I have had these boots for three months now and still think they are great. The "grey dusting" mentioned in other reviews is all but gone after normal cleaning giving them a mildly distressed look around the stitching. I feel normal waterproofing would completely eliminate it if you so choose. I have wide feet with very high arches which is often a problem with boots. Not these. I wore them straight out of the box on a long night out and they were comfortable (even more so now). I wear between an 8.5 and 9 depending on the shoe and bought a 9 in these. Perfect. The leather and construction is what you would expect from Frye. High quality and durable. Love the look which is tough with a bit more style than most Fryes. Zappos, as always, was great and I received them sooner than expected.

These boots are gorgeous. Very high quality leather and fun, interesting styling. Footbed is very well cushioned. I got them as a women's boot, and they do work for that - not clunky at all. Having said that, they will also look great on a man, either with jeans or slacks-suit for a mixed casual-business look. Unfortunately it was hard to translate mens to women's size (and width of D was slightly too wide for my B foot in the heel) so may or may not re-order.

This was my first time ordering from Zappos. So I was tentative with my purchase for an expensive boot. But they turned out to be really nice with unusually good workmanship. The fit is comfortable with only about a day or two of breakin. I also received some complements on the style. I wear them for work and going out. I could not be more pleased with the purchase. Thank you.

Boots look good but I ordered a size 8 1/2 (based on my shoe size) and I could not even get the boot onto my foot. (So be sure to order a slightly larger size to compensate).

This is a great looking boot. I was looking for something casual but didn't want a cowboy boot. I could hardly get my foot into the boot. Way to narrow. Width is not a true D. I have several other boots same size same width that fit like a glove. Unfortunately I had to return these beauties.

A very nice shoe that runs exactly to size. Don't plan on wearing thick socks as these will require dress socks if you order your size. The soles are leather which makes me think they may not wear as well as my Red Wings and with the straps are not easy to polish, but talk about quality in stitching and fit. I have narrow feet and these are like gloves. I'm wondering how a person with a D width likes these - but for me, they are perfect. I'd also add that they are shipped in light talc so be prepared to buff them up prior to wearing. I think comparing these to my Red Wings, I'll go Red Wing next time but these are at least an 8 on a scale of 10. I should mention that I paid Zappos less than full price for these (size and color discount). At list, I probably would have sent them back as I don't see these as more expensive shoes personally. Frye fans would probably go ga-ga and these certainly look and fit nicely with a pair of jeans without crowding your leg or jeans creating rub. I think after some wear in I'm going to end up bumping these to a 9 of 10.

I wear a size 8.5, ordered a size 9, and these are still too small. My toes are crunched and my feet are sore after 15 minutes of wear. Also, I stubbed the toe on a stair and some of the black covering on the top of the front portion of the sole came off. So...definitely not the durability and quality I expected from Frye. I had Mark Nason boots for 7 years that have been through hell (also cost twice as much), but were definitely worth it. I'm returning these boots.
