I injured my foot and have to wear sneakers to work until it heals. I like that it is not obvious that I am wearing sneakers. These sneakers are very comfortable and perfect for my wide width foot. However, they have a weird little split in the front of the sneaker. Each sneaker has it. I believe it's part of the design, but I worry over time it will cause issues. I always buy New Balance, and I don't remember seeing this in other styles.

These last a long time -- my 4 1/2 year old pair just started falling apart so despite the cost, I definitely got my money's worth out of them. I wear these every day year round so they have a lot of mileage. Plenty of room for toes. Can't wait to get my new pair!

I have loved, bought and worn New Balance shoes for years. I need shoes that give me good support and good space in the toe box. I do not like shopping for shoes because I have difficulty getting a good fit, but New Balance worked great. I could buy them knowing they would provide what I need - until now. The 811 shoe fit great, but you changed the toe box design with the 812. My usual size, a 9B was too tight where the design changed in the toe box. I bought a wider width to get one that fit in that area, which works decently as long as I walk on level ground. But on uneven ground, my foot slides around. I should not have bought them. Also the design is not as attractive. They have a clunky look to them and I certainly do not need my feet to look bigger. Now I have to find an alternative to my beloved New Balance shoes.

I have a slip on version of 812 that is so uncomfortable as compared to the old 811. I see I am not alone in this view. Maybe we can get NB to go back to old 811 again where it fits the toes so much better. I have to get another pair of walking shoes and am afraid to order the 812. Have worn 10 B for years but no idea what to order now.

I have worn NB WW811 for years! I loved them and was heartbroken to find they were no longer available. I decided to try the WW812 even though some reviews didn't care for them. They are OK, but not like putting on a new pair of 811's! They do seem a bit wider in the heel but I can make do. I wore them for several weeks and then when it cooled off enough for long pants...I pulled out my tan pair of 811's I had bought last year! I loved my 811's...I like my 812's.

I wanted to love these shoes but, like others have noted, my heels keep popping out. I purposefully chose these for the SL-2 last which is supposed to have a roomy toe box, high instep and narrow heel. The toebox is great, the instep is good but the heel is very loose. I have to tie them tightly to have the heels stay put but then the instep is too snug. I'd like to wear them daily but I don't - perhaps every 3-4 days. Style wise they are a bit chunky and look like nurse's shoes.

This shoe is wide, therefore comfortable. I like the black for work. However, I wonder why I have to spend so much for a shoe with absolutely no arch support. I am looking at having to purchase insoles as well and none I have tried feel good in the shoe. I never had that problem when shoes came with arch supports.

I disliked the synthetic material the shoes are made of - it looks like cheap vinyl. My heels slipped out when I attempted to use my orthotic inserts. The only good thing about the shoes is that they are made in the USA.

This is a very nice shoe. I have purchased many New Balance shoes for many years (mostly this general style). A few months ago I purchased this model in my size (10 N). My toes were rubbing against the front of the shoe. A couple of days ago, deciding to try again, I ordered the 10.5 N. It was much too large. Believe me, I wanted to keep it, but knew that I would be sorry in a week if I had done so. To be fair, I now remember, I ordered the first one from Amazon.com. I think I will re-order this again, but from Zappos. I am hoping I fare better with my next order. I'm thinking that Amazon may have stocked either a bad "lot" or a missed-sized lot. This is the only style I like. So if the re-order doesn't work, I will wait for the WW813.

Read other reviews! No arch support on this shoe at all. Be prepared to pay for an orthotic insert. Not a good walker: feet hurt after only 10 minute soft walking, heel is too wide and can't tie shoe tight enough to keep foot inside shoe when walking. Not a good purchase.

I had been a long time customer of this sneaker's predecessor. I was quite disappointed to see that it was discontinued and this new version was the obvious substitute. However, it cannot compare to the original. This sneaker, while the same shoe size is very skimpily cut with very little support, especially on either side of the ankle and the back. The toe box is smaller too and, although it fits, it doesn't feel room at all. What a disappointment. It seems to be the kind of shoe that should sell for much less than this sneaker's price.

I use to wear the 811 I was told by New Balance that the 812 was the same thing modernized a little. I bought them and they are much narrower in the middle of the foot I have red marks on my feet when I take off my shoes at night and they make my orthotics rub the bottoms of my feet causing callouses I have just ordered another brand of shoes. I really miss the 811, they were heavenly I could sleep in them. I am praying that New Balance will make them again.

I have been buying NB 800 Series for 20 years, based on a recommendation of a podiatrist; always the same size. As the series advanced up to NB811 the style and design remained the same. I ordered these with confidence knowing that the latest pair would be perfect. As it turns out, the 812 is a drastically different design and fit than it's predecessors. It has a new puffy heel wrap that does not hold my foot in place. It feels about an inch too long in the toe. I am sadly disappointed as I will now have to find a new sneaker after all these years. Based on reviews I have read, I am going to try NB927 or 928.
