Works very well. I use it to heat water to make single cups of coffee, so needed to be sure the water came to a high enough temp, yet not boiling. I keep it at work where I don\'t have a stove nearby. It\'s pricey, but serves the purpose.

Worked great till it stopped working! It started shocking me when I touched the bottom of the unit. Then it started becoming erratic and would turn off without heating water, or would not turn off when the temperature was reached. Now it's not working at all!

This is the most useful water kettle ever! It has specific temperature settings to perfectly brew different types of tea or you can just boil water for oatmeal or cocoa. A quality machine.

As a tea lover, my daughter knew she could score extra points with me by giving me this kettle. The correct water temperature is crucial for each type of tea and this kettle has all of the right settings to create that perfect cup of tea. Yes, she did get extra points because I love it!

This is the best water kettle ever. I bought it for my tea snob boyfriend, so his water is always at the exact right temp -- without using a candy thermometer ; My favorite things about it are that you can set it down on the base in any direction you want, it has water level windows on both sides, and the lid slowly lifts up when you touch the button to fill it up. It's awesome. Really. That said, It looks good on the counter, does its job perfectly, holds the water temp, and is ready for me whenever I want to make french press coffee....

I did lots of comparison shopping before ordering this Breville Kettle. I chose it because of the variable temperatures and the hold feature. It did not disappoint. Making tea is now very simple and much quicker for whatever type of tea I am making. This is a great appliance and I'm 100% happy with my choice.

If you are a tea drinker/lover, this is the PERFECT tea kettle for you. No more worrying about brewing tea to the right temperature or only doing everything at boiling. This kettle has options for Oolong, Green, White and Black tea - it will get the water to the perfect temperature for whichever tea you’re in the mood for. Plus it has a "stay warm" feature which allows you to keep the water warm in case you have to step away from it.

A few years ago switched from a stove top kettle to an electric one. I have never looked back! The electric kettle lasted for a very long time but it was time to replace it. I was hesitant to spend so much money on a kettle but the Breville Variable Temperature Kettle is well worth it. My favorite feature is the hold temp button. It's really nice to have my boiling water still hot if I am busy. I have had this kettle for about a month and don't know how I lived without it!

Been using this for a few weeks now and don't know how I lived without it! It's a great kettle and has been going non-stop. Not only great for hot tea, but to brew our always-running-low iced tea for summer!

I love this kettle! I work from home, and used to run downstairs to put the electric kettle on, run back to the office, get busy, and half an hour later realize my tea kettle was likely boiled dry. I really appreciate the "hold temp" feature on this, and the auto shut-off if I leave it too long. I drink a lot of different teas - black, green, white, rooibos, herbals, and I make my coffee with an aeropress, so the different temp selections are perfect! Initially I was reluctant to get something this fancy (and expensive), but am very pleased with my purchase!

Fantastic little electric kettle. It heats up to temps very quickly - even the highest setting. I didn't think we needed anything this fancy, but after having appropriate temperature teas my life is forever changed.

I've had mine for about two years. It's been great except that the temperature isn't accurate. The buttons along the front let you set a temp, but mine runs 5-10 degrees hotter than the buttons say... which impacts the ability to get the right temp for lower settings, and makes the higher settings all boil. On the positive, it boils water quickly. When I'm cooking pasta I boil the water in this kettle and transfer it to the pasta pot and it's faster. When I need more water than that I start half on the stove and then add boiling water from the kettle.

This is a must have when brewing those fun, but expensive loose teas purchased from the specialty tea shops. Correct water temperature is key to avoid that bitterness.

We have been using this kettle one to two times every day for more than a month. It heats the water quickly and very accurately. I checked the temperature with a digital thermometer and it was within 1 degree (F) of accuracy at each setting. My wife is a tea drinker, and I hand pour my coffee with a Chemex pot or an Aeropress. So exact control of the water temperature is crucial for both. We have been very happy with this purchase.

I really like this kettle, and I use it all the time. The water heats up fast. It pours without running on the side. It's not too heavy, so it's easy to handle. We brew all sorts of teas, and the different preset temperatures are great!

We've only had this a couple of days, but we're very pleased at this time. One design element that I'd like to see changed is the polycarbonate on the lid and water level. I think it would be much classier and appealing if it was glass. Boils pretty quickly, even from cold water max fill. Much quicker than my previous stove top kettle (on gas). I like that I can have my French Press coffee at the correct boil temp and keep the water warm for the next pot.

As an avid tea drinker, I appreciate having a pot that can achieve the right temps for each type of tea. However, the fact that the "hold temp" feature operates only if one remembers to press the start button again after pouring a cup is annoying. I even wrote to Breville, thinking I had a defect. Also, mine came with a discoloration on the inside, bottom of the pot which I've again notified Breville about and am awaiting a reply. I only use bottle spring water and get mineral sediment, another unpleasant characteristic. However, this being my first, I have no other brand with which to compare.
