I have just received my first pair of boots in my life that comfortably fit my foot and leg! I have a 16" calf, and have quite a bit of room to spare.

These boots are wonderful in the fact that they do zip up comfortably over jeans and my 16 inch calf. I'm tickled that they are so nice looking as well as zip up so easily! I've spent literally hours looking in the stores for a pair and had given up until the sales lady at Macy's mentioned wide calf were available online! I'm so happy! thank you Fitzwell and Zappos!

I love these boots! I have a difficult time finding boots that are not cheap looking (or hundreds of dollars) that fit my calf but are tailored for an ankle that is smaller. I would definitely recommend this boot for plus size women with larger legs but not large ankles. And I am an elementary school teacher who stands all day...and can wear this all day with no foot pain at the end of the day.

I had to return them because the foot was too narrow and the calf too wide. It is a good quality boot but it did not fit me.

I love these boots! Affordable, comfortable and stylish. They fit perfectly in the calf for me and while the ankle is slightly slouchy as some have pointed out, I realize that it's difficult to predict the curve of individual legs based on calf size -- unless each pair is custom-made, for which you would pay a pretty penny! I have tiny ankles and a curvy calf so I have a little space at the top and around the ankle, but they look great! (Plus, they'll fit even if my ankles do swell, sweet!) I just ordered a second pair in brown.

This is a great wide calf boot for those of us who also have wide ankles. If you have skinny ankles and want a tight fitting tailored boot that is only wider in the calf, this is not the boot for you. If you have chubby ankles and a wide calf, dare I say "cankles", these will be perfect for you! I like the low heel and I can wear these over skinny jeans, something I never thought I'd be able to do with my generously proportioned calf muscles.

These were the first wide shaft boots to fit my calves very comfortably. Unfortunately, the foot part of the boot is too small and narrow. Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Terrific! Finally, I found a low-heeled black boot wide enough to fit my very wide calves. Comfortable right out of the box--I wore them all day at work and they looked and felt terrific. Seriously thinking about buying the brown, too!

I am blown away by how much I like these boots. They fit perfectly, and the color is nice and dark so they work with brown and black clothing which is great since who can afford 2 pairs! Its such a pleasure to have the calf fit. They are leather so when I first put them on the foot stretched from tight to just perfect in about 1 wearing. They fit as comfortably as can be. Everything fits just right even where the zipper first touched my ankle. I don't wear skirts often, but these boots make me want to wear them more. I look forward to wearing these. Imagine if all shoes were this good.

These boots are GREAT. I have a very wide calf and find it very difficult to find a boot that fit my wide calf. These are so generous and comfortable I wish they came in more than the 2 colors they came in. I would buy each color. I wish I could find a pair of shearlings that fits this well!

These classicly styled boots fit true to size and are very comfortably. With a low heel, they are easy to walk in, yet go with a variety of outfits, both casual and more formal. All in all, a great addition to my shoe wardrobe. I am totally satisfied with my purchase.

I purchased these Fitzwell boots from Zappos because I have four pair of Fitzwell pumps which are truly comfortable, thanks in part to the gel insoles in the footbed and the heel of the pumps, and thought I'd give the boots a try! They are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned, and I love the elastic panel which makes it possible for for me to wear these boots. I'm trying to keep from ordering another pair, and lately I am seriously thinking of giving in and ordering another pair in brown!

Yippee! I'm so excited! I can wear them with skinny cords and they don't come up too high! They are my 4th pair of knee high boots that I've tried. I thought I was going to cry if they didn't work. But they did! So happy about it. I have a 16.5 inch calf and while the actual ankle is small and my foot is small, the calf is big the whole way. I put on my skinny cords and zipped the boots right up!

They aren't kidding about the wide calf. If you don't really need a very wide calf, these will gape and sink down in an unbecoming fashion.

I have trouble with wide-width boots because of the size of my calves. I normally have to size up in order to get the right width, even with "extended calf" boots. These boots, on the other hand, are extremely roomy. I am sometimes between a 10 and 11, but the 11 was way too big. I had to return and order a 10 and the boots are still a bit roomy (still space for thick socks and/or leggings, for sure). The leather is nice, but I do think the lining inside should have come up higher because you can tell there is a line where it stops on the back of the boot. Otherwise it is very comfortable and works well as a casual leather boot.

When these arrived, I loved the color, but they weren't quite as high up the leg as I wanted, maybe a few inches below the knee. They are comfortable, and the shaft is wide enough, but I found them rather tight in the foot. I wear a medium width, and I wouldn't have been able to wear socks with these. I'm bummed that I have to send them back, due to the foot width and height.

I so wanted these to work. They are great quality and quite comfortable. I was so excited about the wide calf, but unfortunately, they were too wide - in fact, wider than the measurements posted. Too bad - have to send them back.

Very cute boot, but even though I have a heavy calf, the shaft was at least 2 inches too wide. This is an extra wide shaft which is good, but not going to work for me. The other size shaft is too narrow.
